As far as the dining experience goes, it was perfect. Prompt, friendly service from our knowledgeable server, Danielle. The cheddar dip appetizer was amazing and the kitchen went out of their way to accommodate a picky person in my party. One of those dining experiences that couldn’t have gone better in any way imaginable!

Valentine’s night. Made reservations 3 weeks in advance and was given a time of 8:45 pm. Down hill from there Ordered the 8oz filet with golden mashed. Wanted the meat cooked medium. First try was brought to me rare. The waitress apologized and stated she will have a new piece cooked Second attempt was the same piece cooked on outside but still rare on inside. By the way the mashed was cold on the first attempt. Vegetable medley only had green beans with 1 carrot. Waitress was extremely nice an apologetic That’s way I still gave 3 stars. If a business has steak on menu that business should be able to cook properly. Would not recommend steak at this location.

Anything that has to do with the venerable Mount Washington Hotel will start as good to excellent. And it goes up from there. Like it or not, that’s the bar that’s set at this virtual monument to good taste and customer service. Got here after a long trip and we were afraid that there wouldn’t be an open eatery for two famished travelers. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and they sat us at once. I said they sat us expeditiously, because when it came time to be waited on it was a different story. Slow service. They actually forgot about us until we made a query and then we finally got service. Stickneys is the casual dining room and pub in this historical monument of a hotel. Yes, it’s classy. And good. As we were dead tired, we ordered one dinner-sized Salmon salad and my other half ordered their hamburger. The Salmon Salad was good enough to clean the plate. As to the hamburger, it was the largest hamburger outside Texas and it was delishhhhh… And we washed it down with local brews. We just about closed the place down. And we will come back.

Enjoyed lunch today after a drive through the Mountains. I started with the jumbo shrimp app. Shrimp was fresh but could have used more dipping sauce. Husband had clam chowder which he enjoyed. Next was tomato soup and lobster Mac and cheese, both delicious. Service was fine and the views outstanding

We went for dinner and enjoyed it immensely. We had an app of Cabot cheese ale dip with chips. If you have never had this cheese you haven’t lived. It was spectacular. I had the chicken which was a large two piece portion with just the right amount of rosemary au jus. The mashed potatoes were done really nicely and there were plenty. Fresh veggies were set aside because we shared the outstanding Parmesan creamed spinach. It was top notch. Highly recommended! My husband had the lamb which is his usual go to. He said it was very good but not great, it was hard to eat because it was hard to separate. The service was very good and they were busy while we were there. The waitress was attentive and knew a lot about the different dishes however she admitted she hadn’t actually tried some of the dishes. The atmosphere was excellent. We also sat in the bar the day before to catch the Patriots game on the tv. The bartender was great. We just had local beers but he was attentive and fine with us not eating but taking up a table until our room was ready. Also had the special jerk dusted swordfish on a focaccia bread with bacon for lunch that was outstanding. Chef — great creation. Best lunch on the planet Very good restaurant. Worth the $$$

THEVIEW! Located in Mt Washington Resort. Beautiful, classic venue with amazing mountain views. We were seated outside. The weather was quite cool for summer weather. You can hear footsteps from the veranda above. It reminds us the hotel is historic as the wood floors creak and flex. Our server was friendly and accommodating. We were still full from lunch. We decided to share our order. We ordered the Caesar Salad, Crisp Fried Mozzarella appetizer, and NY Sirloin Sandwich. They provide a small crispy bread loaf. Crust crunchy and soft warmth inside. The butter was so pure, it can be eaten alone. Our order was brought out all at once. The mustard based sauce for the mozzarella was creamy and rich with huge mustard seeds. Breading was the perfect amount and the cheese did not stretch when bit into. The Caesar dressing was plain tasting, lacked tang, and they use white anchovy. We asked for extra and our server gave us a whole cup full since the salad only comes with 1 anchovy on the side. The cheese and onions on the steak sandwich made the dish. The baguette was almost too hard but still edible. The fries were tender with a nice crisp. Enjoy your food with gorgeous mountain views at Stickneys!

Overall, it’s your average American eatery. Portions are reasonable as well as the prices for a resort restaurant. There is not really much to complain about but also nothing really to rave about. I had the filet. It was cooked just right and it came with a small side. Not really a fan of the salad wedge. You could pay $ 2 extra for a cesar but it’s probably not worth it. I think it would be better just to serve a smaller but tastier salad instead of literally a quarter of an ice burg lettuce and call it a salad.

I’ve been a fan of Stickney for quite some time and we’ve always gone there as a default for Birthdays and Anniversaries. Our last experience was pretty bad. They no longer take reservations which isn’t a huge deal since there are a few nice bars on property to have a drink while waiting for your table. My wife has a gluten allergy(not trendy, actual hospital stays) and we told the waitress a couple of times. Salad came out with croutons. Told her again. Lamb came out with gravy, asked if it was gluten free she said yes but not celiac free(Duhhh!) when we re-educated her she let us know there’s a new chef. She blamed him/her a few times during the meal for gluten issues. My lobster mac and cheese came out at room temperature, I will say there was a lot of lobster in it and the taste was wonderful. Any time I pay $ 200 for a 2 person meal I expect to leave happy, not the case this time. I also hate it when a business casual place lets people where jeans and hats. Either allow everything or stick with your dress code.

We enjoyed this splurge! No wait to get seated on an early Saturday afternoon in early April. The restaurant is behind a bar/lounge area after you enter from the corridor in the lower level of the hotel. Lovely views of the grounds and Presidential Mountain range(even though obscured by clouds and fog that day) from the big windows of the circular room that is under the main conservatory. Our server, Trisha, was a lovely young lady. Helpful and efficient, committed our orders to memory, with good suggestions for those of us who had trouble trying to decide what to try. I went with the chowder to start. Much bigger serving than expected and really thick with clams, potatoes and bacon. Slightly smoky taste, which cut the usual richness somewhat. Loved it! Almost went for the lobster mac and cheese, but decided after the chowder not to have something so heavy. Jonah Crab Cake sandwich was perfect. No filler, all crab, served on a pretzel bun, most of which I left behind. Could have done with a little more aioli, but that’s a quibble. Hubby tried the pork«wings» appetizer. So tender and the BBQ habanero sauce wasn’t as hot as one might think, very gentle heat so as not to ruin the palette. He saw someone else get the Stickneys burger, which was huge! But they had a lot of garnishes too. He asked for nothing healthy, didn’t want it «dragged through the garden»(cholesterol King!), but somewhere along the line that request was missed and tomato and lettuce showed up. Not exactly worth docking stars. Passed on dessert. Actually prices weren’t as high as we had expected(e.g. $ 9 for a large bowl of chowder and $ 19 for the crab cake sandwich) and the food and service were top notch!

I’m very disappointed in the omni Mt. Washington Hotel ownership! Stickneys was a questionable value prior to this week; last week the Stickneys burger was close to half of what it was last week. Everything in general went up in cost SUBSTANTIALLY and there are no longer salads ATALL on the Stickneys menu. As local homeowners and regulars we will NOT be going to Stickneys or the Bretton Arms or bringing our many guests who visit throughout the year. We give the hotel bars and restaurants quite a bit of money annually and if this is how they are choosing to change, then it is my plan for my family and my guests to eat and drink at home going forward. I suspect hotel guests feel similarly judging from the many pizza boxes I saw sprinkled around the lobby!(The Irving station should send the hotel a thank you note!!!) I did notice that the hotel and Bretton Arms room rates are very reasonable. It appears the premise is to lure guests up and then gouge them with dining… after all the hotel has a monopoly(with the exception of the gas station) on dining in a 30 minute radius. This on top of laying off bus drivers and stopping shuttle service for a month without reimbursing homeowners who have already paid for annual shuttle services, is the hotel going under or are they just blatantly trying to take advantage? I feel for the restaurant and shuttle employees who will suffer from this greed. Everyone we know here are kind, hardworking people who care about their jobs. Tips will suffer, people are losing shifts… shame on you Omni!

I came here during a slow ski weekend for dinner. The restaurant was a bit difficult to find in the snazzy Mount Washington Hotel, but we got there. After a short wait, we sat in the back at a big booth. Our waitress was one of the best I’ve had recently — friendly, didn’t need to write down our many orders and attractive(my friend ordered a martini — she wasn’t satisfied with the slightly low amount once it was poured into the glass, so she took the time to go to the bar to fill it to the rim!). Good stuff. The food was great — my burger was $ 14, but it was plenty of food and I knew I was paying for the location. Others got salads that were generous with cheese, bacon and other non-rabbit food that make the salad palatable(for me at least). I definitely recommend if you’re in the area and prices really are pretty reasonable for where you’re having dinner.

Stickneys is great for the experience of saying you ate at the Omni, but it is very overpriced for what you get. Tiny portions and good food… not fantastic, but good.

Could not have asked for more. Food was served fresh, delicious, service prompt, drinks strong and a lot of very happy faces. Reservations is highly recommended the restaurant can get booked out very quickly. My personally fav was the side order of Lobster Mac & Cheese it was divinely delicious with generous mouthfuls of chunky lobster meat. A must try!

We sat at the bar. Frank was the bartender. He was inattentive to our party and bordering on rude. It took a while and several requests to even get menus. Afterward, I sat with an empty beer AND water glass for 20 minutes and he never filled either. While the food was good the service was deplorable and I would not go back if Frank is working.

Ate lunch there week of August 11, noonish. Server/bartender Frank was among the least engaged barkeeps I have ever met, and I am 59. Seemed more focused on draining a foamy keg, than customer interaction, and the bar had only 5 customers. Hey Frank, smile and at least pretend to give a ‘hoot”. BLT was Good. Service, see above.

Ate at the bar in Stickney’s resteraunt at The mount Washington Hotel. No tables available for the entire evening in the resteraunt. Hotel was fully booked. Decided to eat at the bar. Service at the bar was excellent! Bartenders name was Mike very nice and extremely accommodating! One vegetarian item on the menu but I’d had it before so I asked if the chef would make me something else! They made me a Mac & cheese with Asparagus, zucchini and squash. It was excellent! My partner had a burger with a brioche bun and fries. Perfectly cooked and excellent as well! Drinks are a little pricey but very good! Will definitely return!

It took a while for our lunch to come out, but it was worth the wait! My crab cake sandwich was perfect. So much fresh crab, a delicious light lemon sauce, and a toasted homemade bun. I want to eat it again and again! The fries were the best kind too, crispy and freshly sliced. Obviously the view is incredible across the golf course to the mountains. Our server was extremely friendly, too.
