Service, and food were great here! Portions and price are spot on! You wont be disappointed by anything on the menu. Been here a few times and it has never disappointed! Traditional American breakfast/lunch menu. The skillet I had was delicious, filling, and I had plenty to take home!

Very nice server and giant portions. My «mini omelette» filled up half my plate. I’d be scared to see what a regular portion would look like! Coffee refills were always coming without being asked and my side of sausage was three giant links when at other places it’s two. Décor could be updated… It’s just your traditional Greek place, and it could be a bit cleaner.

I love brunch. Possibly my favorite meal of the day. I wish I could brunch more. While in town for the holidays, I made plans with a friend to meet here for brunch because it was about halfway between where she lived and where I was staying. I’ve been to another Red Apple Pancake House in the Chicago ‘burbs and had a horrible experience, so I was just a bit wary of this place. I don’t know if it’s a chain or they just happen to have the same name, but yeah. FORTUNATELY, we had a really nice brunch here… the day after Christmas. The day after Christmas is apparently the day everyone goes out to eat. This place was PACKED. However, we were quoted a fifteen-minute wait, so we stayed. And it really was just only fifteen minutes or so. Whew! We were then seated quickly and promptly brought our menus and water. We all ordered(I ordered a vegetarian skillet), chatted, and had our steaming hot plates of food within twenty minutes or so. Considering the crowd, I thought that was pretty good. My omelette was good — standard breakfast, but nothing to complain about it. It was pretty big, so I had leftovers to bring back with me. I actualy excited to bring home leftovers to eat for breakfast the next morning… and here I am, a week later, JUSTNOW remembering that I had leftovers in the fridge at my in-law’s house. And I didn’t eat them. DANG! OOPS. Roughly $ 20 for two people to eat there. Seems pretty normal to me. In fact, as I already mentioned, it’s a standard breakfast place. Nothing extraordinary. Normally I’d give a place like this three stars… but it gets four stars because our server/the staff/everyone handled the large brunch crowd well, serving up great food and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly doubt I’ll be back again because I don’t live in the area, and there other places to brunch, but still a good spot.

Pancakes are huge. Had the Georgia Pecan Pancakes. Could only finish half, and I have a big appetite for breakfast. Coffee is diner okay. I like Starbucks so not as strong as I like. Bacon side is good portion and done just right — not too crisp, not greasy. Try this place for friendly and quick service on a weekday.

Amazing breakfast. This place just does it right. They used real apples in my french toast, which speaks volumes of the attention to detail and quality Red Apple Pancake House provides.

The service from the owners is top notch. The owner rings usually rings you up at the register. He’s like your grandpa from the Old Country, who always knows what to say, how to say it, and makes you feel welcome. I had poached eggs with biscuit gravy n bacon. It was a good, solid, delicious breakfast. It wasnt the most amazing breakfast Ive ever had. There wasnt anything I disliked about my experience. I took my food to go. I did notice it didnt have the best atmosphere. The dining area seemed empty n open.

Friendly staff, generous portions & delicious food! The only downside is that the wait is very long on the weekends. Be sure to check in regular where you are in line, our number was accidently crossed off last mothers day and our wait went from 15 minutes to 2 hours.

My cousin had invited me to red apple too many of times and finally i was able to go. I ordered the Hawaiian omelette and i was not expecting fantastic it was. If you like Hawaiian pizza, imagine all the toppings in an omelette and it was something that I would’ve ever thought of in an omelette and the potatoes that came with it is also so yummy! I also ordered the Nutella crêpe and it is to die for. Crepes crispy on the edges and nice and fluffy in the middle. Nutella galore topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Coffee is far better than the other breakfast places as well. This is my favorite breakfast spot now and will be taking the whole family next!

I gotta say the only saving grace about living in those shitty apartments across the street(yeah, you know the ones) was having Red Apple within walking distance. Be sure to get here early because this place is ALWAYS packed. Right around 9am is when things start to pick up and you could be waiting in line for a solid hour. But their food is definitely worth it. I was always a huge fan of their Popeye skillet(it had bacon, spinach, and general cheesy goodness throughout) and opted for the pumpkin pancakes when they were in season. Really, nothing on the menu here is a dud. Pro-tip: I advise you to either tough out the wait or just go to McDonald’s for breakfast and NOT go to Carol’s Garden down the way and across the street. You might as well be eating out of the trash.

Review #401 This was a very good experience. SERVICE: 5 stars. Let me start by saying our server was Jacquie(it had a «q» somewhere) and she was excellent. She didn’t write ANYTHING down and she always got what we needed and our orders were 100% correct. Even when I mistakenly thought she had missed something, I realized I didn’t even see it on the table. She was excellent. FOOD: Delicious food and huge portions. My skillet had four eggs and my husbands«crows nest» had four eggs as well.(See pictures). $ 8.99 for my huge skillet. The huge Apple pancake has two options: junior and the huge one we got. The huge one is $ 13.99(if I remember correctly). My skillet was great. Just enough mozzarella with plenty of hashbrowns and veggies. I usually like to add jalapeños but they had hot sauce so I was good. My sister liked her burger. It didn’t have much look appeal but no biggie. The Apple pancake takes 30 minutes so put the order in right away. We were seated very quickly and we came in at 2:06pm with less than hour till closing. I didn’t use the bathrooms so I can’t comment. The restaurant was clean. The staff were friendly. It seems very popular. Plenty of parking. Brunch hours are fine. Large portions at great prices. We enjoy coming here and next time we are in town, we will definitely be back. Oh and I saw the owner(I think) and his son or other male relative sitting. He took our plates at one point but he was definitely somewhere higher up on the hierarchy in that restaurant based on the interactions. He put lemon on his skillet and I plan to try that next time!

Had the Red Apple salad and it was amazing!!! Came with soup, breadstick, and waffle fries — all for $ 9 on the lunch special. I’m so stuffed. Everything was tasty and fresh and I could not have asked for better! Everyone’s omelets and waffles looked so good, too. I’ll definitely be back!

Been here a few times and I have not been impressed. I am a breakfast junkie and I love breakfast food, so I am quite picky. This place is just OK. I agree with others about the big portions, but a big portion isn’t great when the food is mediocre. I’ve ordered a skillet and it was just OK. Nothing about my skillet stood out, except for the fact that it came with 4 eggs! It didn’t have much flavor. I honestly can’t remember what I ordered the first time I was there, only thing I remember is the dirty coffee cup and dirty fork I was given. Since the restaurant is a minute away from me I am sure I will be back but I know not to expect much.

Met friends here several times this year for breakfast on Saturdays– the food been good, not great and the service very good for the amount of people they pack in… and I do mean pack– I needed to ask people at other tables to get up so i could exit to go to the washroom. The parking can be horrible– just not enough for the amount of people they get. I have needed to circle or wait every time i have come.

Consider splitting a single menu item here, because Red Apple Pancake House delivers quantity with the quality. I got a Californian omelet with pancakes. My wife got a ham and pineapple omelet. For starters, it turns out they double the number of eggs on the menu. So an item with 2 eggs actually has 4… and I guess that means the omelets have 8? That seems right, surprisingly, because I’m pretty sure the omelet alone weighed a pound. They also seem to have doubled the amount of fillings too. My omelet wasn’t particularly fluffy, but it definitely had a lot of vegetables, well cooked. They throw it in the oven at the end for a few minutes, so a light brown«crust» forms on the outside of the omelet. I like it. The pancakes are light, as are the potatoes, which resemble scalloped potatoes without any sauce. The coffee is good and so is the syrup. Red Apple is close enough to home to be our regular breakfast place from now on. It also helps that we get three meals for the price of one.

I can say if you are looking for huge servings of food at a decent price, this is the place for you. I ordered the Red Apple Skillet. I thought the food tasted very good. The coffee was disgusting, however. It tasted like cheap Hill Brothers coffee. Here’s why it gets 1 star: the interior is dark and depressing with ancient décor. I wouldn’t normally care if it was squeaky clean, but it was not. Being that it was a Tuesday, and not very busy, I expect the place to look cleaner on the inside. The biggest reason for the 1 star, I got horrible diarrhea about 2 hours after I ate, so I concluded that the kitchen and/or cooks are dirty, or the food is not fresh. This place is not for me. Will not be back.

After 17 check ins, probably more seeing as I come here so often, I am still infatuated with this place. There’s just something about it, this place is so homey. You walk in, there are apples everywhere! Pleasant employees that you will see basically every time you come in, and the food is just out of this world. Nonetheless, its really decently priced. If you’re a plain Jane, their«From The Chicken Coop» deals are the best. My mom and I can get 2 eggs, a load of hash browns, and an English muffin or pancakes for 3.99. That’s hard to beat. Keep in mind, their eggs are old country style, so you get double the eggs. :) Just saying, this place should be named The Golden Apple. Love it. Love everything about this place. It’s fabulous. I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed… Unless of course you own a farm and are a professional cook. I am neither, so bravo apples!

*shaking head* This just doesn’t happen to me. I couldn’t finish my food… Our first time there. been driving by for years and never really thought much about the place. The Unilocal reviews drew me in, particularly Joe E who’s been there like a billion and one times. We went just after lunch time, so it wasn’t crowded at all… Maybe I shouldn’t have snacked on toast that morning… I asked Lisa. «What do you think I’m going to get?». she mumbled.“something with a lot of meat”… the«The Butcher Block Omelette» *sigh*… sometimes I am a little predictable. That’s what I ordered. Lisa pulled the same stunt on me. I smugly said«The California Omelette»… NOPE! She wanted the Portobello Mushroom Omelette. I’ll bet she would have gotten the California if I hadn’t said anything. These are oven baked, four egg omelettes, they are loaded with fillings. light, fluffy and delicious. Mine was really, really great. Hers was good, perfectly cooked, huge and fluffy… just like mine… but it was too mushroomy for her(I’ve never heard her say THAT before, I hate mushrooms so I would notice something like that) The Portobello’s were just too much. she should have gotten the California.(hmmmm…) The potatoes are my favorite type of home fries, they get them good and crispy on the outside… fortunately for me. Lisa gave me half of hers. and I had some leftovers for later… delicious! We chose pancakes instead of toast, I had the regular ones and they were great… Lisa upgraded to Pumpkin pancakes for an extra $ 1. soooo worth it. she said they were the best she’s ever had. I tasted them too and thought they were a real stand out. So, I had leftovers, the bill was inexpensive and the quality of the food outstanding. Atmosphere is typical suburban breakfast place. spacious booths. Great food and value. this place is the real deal and my new favorite breakfast place in the area!
