I came around 10:45 on a Saturday morning and got seated right away. The coffee was smooth and good– no bitterness. I got the steak skillet with 2 eggs and pancakes on the side for $ 11. It was pretty good. For a breakfast place, the portions were smaller than other places. I was actually able to finish both the pancakes and skillet which rarely happens! I usually like taking home the leftovers to have for a partial meal later in the day so this part was a disappointment. They hired a Santa to walk around and wish people a Merry Christmas. I thought that was a nice touch.

I used to come to this place quite a bit, but have lately found it to be less than satisfying. I visited last Saturday with my family, we arrived early AM, so there was not a wait. We were promptly greeted and served coffee. I had the crab cake Benedict, my spouse had the classic Benedict, and my folks had a french toast combo, and a cinnamon french toast. I’ll start with the Benedict’s. The hollandaise sauce was horrible. I don’t know if there wasn’t enough butter, but it was watery and flavorless. The crab cakes didn’t taste very fresh, so the hollandaise kind of just killed the whole dish. My spouse agreed with me on the sauce… The side item’s were potato pancakes and fruit. The potato pancakes seemed under cooked, and I was really disappointed to receive day old(at least) fruit. It was slimey and discolored and I just couldn’t eat it. My folks seemed somewhat happy with their dishes, and my father like the sausage links. I wasn’t impressed by the bites I stole from their plates. The service was good, but it’s highly unlikely that I would return.

My husband and I go here every Sunday! The service here is always amazing(we’ve been going there every weekend for a year now) and the food is always perfect. We always go there for their breakfast menu: their skillets and omelettes are the best. My only advice though, and this is the only reason I’ve seen people complain, is don’t be silly and go during Sunday rush. Sunday rush is when all of the church crowd and hungover teens are all coming to eat breakfast(11−1PM) usually so you MAY have to wait awhile to be seated. That’s not the restaurant’s fault — that’s the nature of Sunday Rush. The food is good, the coffee variety is good and the service is good. Mostly booths available too, which is nice!

The workers here couldn’t be nicer. My mom and I were running late for an apt at The Dress across the street, but both of us were already feeling a little hangry. We needed food stat, and we were already 5 minutes late to the apt. My mom ran inside and asked if they do take out: perfect, they are more than happy to accommodate us. She ordered two quick BLTs, but the princess in me had to speak up and say that I didn’t like bacon and didn’t want a BLT.(I know, I know. I get crap for not liking bacon all the time.) So they quickly changed my order to a turkey club(which ended up being HUGEEEE) and my mom nommed on her BLT before we migrated across the street. They took our payment ASAP, offered us drinks and water, even though we had already paid, and made sure that we had everything we needed. They were all so accommodating and friendly… if I lived out that way, I’d visit again just to say thank you!

The worst. Told 10 – 15 mins for a table. 25 mins later, ignored. 30 mins, «table’s almost ready». 40 mins, «we’re clear in a table». 50 mins, «we’re waiting for that table in the corner to leave. We don’t have any other options for a table for 6.» «Can’t you push 2 tables together?» «We’ll try.» 55 mins, we left. Not sure if the food is good, but the front of the house has no idea how to manage tables.

A very cozy place to wake up with some coffee and breakfast! The menu is very large and spans many flavors and combinations. Try the Pomegranate Orange Juice! The Hale Street location fits right in with the historic downtown Wheaton feel. Definitely a place worth frequenting!

The menu is full of unusually delicious items not typically found in most breakfast restaurants. The waitstaff are quick, attentive and always friendly. Even when the place is busy, the wait is short. Highly recommend the cornflake crusted French toast. So good it’s bordering on ridiculous!

I came here on a rainy Saturday morning for brunch and the line was almost out the door but we were seated within 15 – 20 minutes. However, the service is SOSLOW. We stared at our waitress for a good 10 to 15 minutes before she actually noticed us. Our waitress seemed like she was very flustered and had trouble multi-tasking. I split the chicken spinach gruyère crêpe(grilled chicken strips, sautéed fresh spinach, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, blended with Gruyère cheese and topped with Hollandaise sauce) and lean machine omelette(egg-white omelette with chipotle chicken sausage, fresh mushrooms and green onions, served with sliced tomatoes, and salsa) with the bf. The omelette itself was on the smaller side and slightly bland but I enjoyed the flavorful crêpe. There’s a coupon found on the website:

Classic breakfast joint. Not greasy, which I really appreciate! Coffee is good, omelets and waffles are reliably tasty, and the bill is fair. Avoid weekend mornings and you’ll be happier!

I love me my eggs benny and I’m always excited when I see something a little different. They have a lobster and asparagus eggs benny and I knew I had to try it. I kinda was thinking they were gonna skimp out on the lobster since it was only around $ 12 and it’s some little breakfast joint in Wheaton — but they did not! There was a ton of lobster and a ton of asparagus which really made it a killer eggs benny. I swapped my country potatoes or whatever they call them for hash browns… even though their hash browns weren’t that great either. Still definitely worth it to try out this eggs benny, I would go back and have this again. They also have a cute little diner style bar you can sit at which I wouldn’t mind doing next time!

Contrary to other reviews, I’ve never had really great food here. There’s always something off about whatever I’ve ordered(usually of the waffle/pancake variety). Too dry, too sweet, not enough of a topping or sauce. With that said, this is my go-to brunch destination. The atmosphere is PERFECT! I’ve sat at one of those window booths with a friend for hours. Service is great and friendly. Good cup of coffee. Overall, I love Egg’lectic.

CREPES! Soooo yummy in my tummy. A good friend of mine absolutely loves coming here for brunch. We’ve been here a couple times and neither experience has disappointed me. This restaurant is located on a somewhat busy intersection of downtown Wheaton, so parking might take awhile(downtown Wheaton is always packed). Yet, we never have to wait for a table in one of the two quaint rooms of the restaurant. Both spaces are spacious and comfortable — I don’t think we’ve bothered the other diners with our loud voices(hopefully). My usual breakfast/brunch dish is a vegetarian omelet or skillet, but here? CREPES! They’re arranged beautifully on the plate, absolutely scrumptuous, and pretty generous. The Kiwi Crêpe is my favorite. I believe it usually comes with cream cheese on top, but I dislike cream cheese and ask them to omit it. YUM. I’ve also tried the pumpkin pancakes — delicious! Drooling right now just thinking about the food here…(it’s 7:30am and I haven’t eaten breakfast yet, so… yeah). Servers are hit or miss. We’ve had a waitress that completely ignored us during the entire meal, and a waitress that was very attentive. Our meal arrives after a reasonable wait and food prices are pretty good, too. No complaints. Hope to come back next time I’m in town for an extended stay! Ohhh, crepes!

I adored my breakfast here, just adored it. It’s a nice roomy place with two separate areas. The tables are nicely spaced away from each other and as a result, you can be comfortable and talk to each other. I ordered the Crunchy French toast combo with juice and coffee. Everything was great but the French toast, oh my the French toast. It was simply divine. I don’t live near Wheaton but I wish I did because I cannot wait to have that dish again. Hmmm, what excuse can I come up with to have breakfast in Wheaton?

My favorite breakfast place in Wheaton. Lisa loves the pumpkin pancakes, but let’s get real here and talk about what really matters. Cinnamon Roll French Toast! Not just any kind of cinnamon Roll French Toast… but the real deal. If you’ve ever had it at Egg Harbor down the street. forget about it! It’s like comparing finger painting to the Mona Lisa. I can’t just rest with the CRFT… I have to get the combo(two sausages, two pieces of bacon… you can have all bacon if you prefer… two eggs and I get a side of potatoes) Yes, it’s a lot of food. But! Cinnamon Roll French Toast Day is like a national holiday for me and I intend to make the most of it. The also have pecan roll french toast… but I’m stuck in a groove of cinnamony goodness and not looking for alternatives just yet. Lisa also loves their omelettes, particularly the California omelette. It’s nice to sit outside on appropriate weather days but the interior restaurant ambiance is a winner too. On a side note. I’ve found the location in town square to be a bit lacking. The atmosphere isn’t the same and the bacon has been limp the few times I’ve been here… still good. just a bit of a step down.

We come here often, because it’s so convenient. We love the charm of the location, right in town where there is plenty to see and do. The food is good. To me, it has never been impressive(neither positively nor negatively impressive). Pancakes, French toast, and egg dishes are all as you’d expect. Actually, I do remember having one thing I really didn’t like… cornflake French toast(or something like that), ick. Today I had the bacon and egg quesadilla, which was tasty although shaped more like a burrito than a traditional quesadilla. The servers are always friendly. At times, I would appreciate speedier water and coffee refills. We love the availability of outdoor dining when the weather is nice. We probably wouldn’t pick this over Red Apple or Butterfields if it weren’t for the location, but we keep going back and will continue to do so, because Hale St is pretty much the center of the universe.

I love this place. It’s in the heart of downtown Wheaton(which has changed since I graduated from high school in 2007). One of my old English teachers’ parents own this place. I’ve gone here so much over the years living in Wheaton. Now that I don’t live in Wheaton, I don’t go as much. Whenever I am back in the area, I usually stick to Red Apple Pancake House about 5 minutes north of this place. They have the best omelets and service at RA, but I digress. This place has awesome big windows. It’s usually hopping on weekend mornings(especially Sunday… you better wear your church clothes or else you will get the death stare). The service has always been hit or miss(miss today), but for the prices you get what you pay for! Plus I get the 10% off for being a Wheaton Sportscenter member. I am also an Egglectic Frequent Flyer or whatever you want to call it. Not sure what that will do for me since I live about two hours south, but I gave my name anyway. When I go to Egglectic… the ONLY thing I would give this place is that they know their way around a griddle. I always get pancakes. I always order their Pumpkin Pancakes with eggs, and breakfast meats. This is my BIGGEST gripe with this place. I always get Canadian bacon until two times I’ve been told that I could not substitute it for my sausage links. I am not a fan of sausage links. I love bacon. All shapes, sizes, and nationalities. That’s why I get my Canadian and American(haha) bacon. But on more than one occasion I’ve been told I could not substitute. Now come on, really? It’s just putting a slice of glorified ham instead of two sausage links. You’re telling me I can’t do that? You might get fired for doing so? I have a hard time believing that. Isn’t it all about the customer? C’mon wait staff! I should say that I didn’t have a problem with today’s server. These are the best pumpkin pancakes ever! Cranberries and apples baked in the the batter. Sugar coma for sure! Really fluffy eggs, and excellent bacon. I recommend this place for a quick breakfast or lunch. Cheap, filling, and service is usually okay.
