Bel Gustos

I have ordered from Bel Gustos a few times. Simply-​The food is consistent, good and fresh. I have not found anything that I can’t live without, but when I have had a day were I just don’t feel like cooking I know I can call and get good Pizza, Pasta or Mexican and my family will be happy.
We have had it delivered almost every time. The delivery is on time and the food is always hot.

I ordered for the first time last evening for dinner. I ordered simply the first time (a good way of testing a new pizza place) with a 14″ thin cheese pizza and garlic bread for delivery.
I ordered my pizza with Steve and he was thorough, friendly and answered the phone on the 2^nd ring. I liked that right off the bat. I still haven’t tried White Cottage because of their poor phone skills in Carol Stream.
The pizza is good, not the best in Chicago (gasp! who could make such a statement?) The pizza arrived hot and fresh within the 1 hour time frame they said it would. The toppings are very generous. You would have thought I ordered extra cheese, but I didn’t. That was my favorite part of the pizza. They don’t skimp on the sauce either.
The garlic bread was perfect, it never got hard from microwaving or heat lamps. The amount of flavor was excellent.
The total bill was $ 17.22 without using any coupons. I tipped my usual $ 3 so overall, it was a good value as well.
** I will definitely order from them again. Maybe I’ll try the Mexican next time as well.

This is certainly an interesting concept. Originally, seeing the «Italian, Mexican» signs, I thought it might be some form of fusion but it actually quite separate. It kind of reminds me of going to one of those Taco Bell and KFC combo restaurants, to be honest. However, it cannot be denied that their menu is of a higher quality than any fast food empire.
Having a taste for lasagna and this restaurant’s close proximity were the clinchers in my decision to order take-​out this weekend. I placed my order and it was ready for pickup, as outlined on the phone, in 25 minutes.
The food itself was good but not memorable. Everything was well made but there certainly was no innovation. But upon reflection, sometimes that is what you want/​need in an easy take-​out joint. It satisfied my craving and the portion was big enough for me, my son and a small lunch the following day. Not bad for $ 9.
I will undoubtedly order from them again. While they may not be culinary geniuses, they seem to be a tight ship with a consistent menu and service.

I was in the area running errands and decided to pop into Bel Gustos as I had seen it under construction and was curious how you blend Italian and Mexican into one place.
First things first, I think it’s important to point out this is not a sit-​down establishment — Purely take-​out and delivery.
Making a decision on what to get was difficult. There are many choices on the Bel Gustos menu and they all sounded good (even the things I «normally» wouldn’t eat). I finally decided to get a Taco Salad. Everything is made fresh (nothing is sitting under heat lamps) so don’t expect a quick turn-​around. This was all fine by me. All in all I would say I waited only 10 minutes or so. Nothing too bad.
Overall I wasn’t blown away by my experience, but I would go back.
