my boyfriend stopped by here a few weeks ago. Still same, dismissive, BAD attitude.

Best wine tasting in Carmel. The owners are always serve excellent wines in their flights and we have never been disappointed. The collection of southern latitude wines is amazing and affordable. If you want to get off the beaten path and discover some new wines this is the place. Their passion and knowledge about all their wines is amazing.

Love their wines! The owner’s Kerri and Annalisa are super friendly and knowledgeable. They always pick the perfect wine for me ;). The shop is darling and the wines are from Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, So. Africa and Chili. As a local I normally don’t patron shop in Carmel-by-the-sea. But this place I love! The service is great and the wines are delicious and afforable.(and they are very dog friendly too)!

Fantastic little spot in Carmel to find wines you probably won’t run across in your regular haunts. They are all from the Southern Hemisphere… hence the name… and they have a ton at very reasonable prices. The owners are really nice, mellow women, and they have 2 fantastic beagles. What a life… wine + carmel = a good thing. Also, they were very knowledgeable about regional wines. We were going to Carmel Valley to do some tastings, and they had great recommendations. Definitely worth a pop in!

We always receive a hearty welcome from the 2 charming owners– Kerri and Annalisa If you are having dog withdrawal in Carmel, their pair of beagles– Taz and Flinders will be happy to share some lovin’. Try SL’s weekly changing tastings or enjoy one of their choices by the glass. As per the store’s appellation, Southern Latitudes specializes in wines from the other hemisphere.

Yum yum yum! All the wines on the tasting list were amazing! Its a cute little place that i would def recommend everyone whos interested in tasting wine(not just local wines anyway) to stop by here. Don’t forget to take a peek at the map on the wall– I was amazed by it(i was a couple tastings deep by the time). You’ll have to go check it out for yourself to see what i am talking about. All their wines are pretty reasonably priced. Loved getting to taste something out of the usual Monterey Bay(and surrounding) wines that you get in all the areas tasting rooms.

Very good wine. Wife and I did the tasting and we liked all the selections except the cheapest one. Average prices are $ 10-$ 22 a bottle, very reasonable for the town and quality.

I visit Southern Latitudes every time I’m in town. They have a great selection of Australian and South American wines. The last time I visited, the woman who runs the place(it’s a nice couple) offered to pour me tastes of what she had opened so I could pick a good wine for dinner that night. She sold me on a 2003 Shingelback Cab. It was really tasty and only $ 18 a bottle! The place is also a nice retreat from the busy shopping of Carmel.

Got my Grant Burge Aussie Port here after looking elsewhere without success for over a year. And on top of that they shipped it for $ 1 a bottle clear across the USA to my West ‘by God’ Virginia homestead. Oh yeah, the price was 20% cheaper than my local distributor who ran out of it 3 years ago. Great selection, great service and prompt shipping.

Featuring wines from South of the equator. I liked their tasting room, it had high seated tables and the Owners Annalissa and Kerre were very friendly and their Beagle«Taz» was a nice addition to the atmosphere. We decided to do the tasting series of 6 wines, 3 whites and 3 reds. The first was a 2008 Mt. Difficulty Pinot Gris from Central Otago, New Zealand. Next we sampled a 2008 Buitenverwachting Beyond Sauvignon from South Africa and then a 2004 Turkey Flat Grenache from Barossa Valley, South Australia. Then we moved on to a 2006 Craggy Range Te Kahu Blend from Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, a 2006 Benmarco Expresivo Blend from Mendoza, Argentina, and a 2006 John Dubal Entity Shiraz from Barossa Valley, South Australia. I mostly enjoyed the Benmarco Expresivo Blend. Annalissa graciously poured us a glass of Muscat on the house to finish it off… Definitely a very enjoyable experience!

Great place! we were there last night and sampled a good Shiraz for $ 20 in the store… that means no corkage! We had the whole place to ourselves, no tourist! This place is really fun with a lot of hard to find Aussie wines at great prices! This is what a wine store & tasting room should be.

This place is a must for wine drinkers. Great selection of wines, affordable tastings, super cool owners, and very dog friendly. An added bonus is the ecclectic selection of music playing from their ipod.

Southern Latitudes Wines is an often overlooked, sublime place in the heart of Carmel, to purchase fine wines. It is the perfect place to find picnic wines or ones to accompany fine dining. The proprietresses let you browse or if you wish, guide you to special wines, according to your likes. They are very good at listening to your preferences and respecting your budget. They offer extensive wine tasting, with generous pours and you are welcome to bring your canine companion. One of the highlights is Max, their 15-year-young beagle who sleeps in the bay window or more often, marches around the tasting room persuading visitors to share their crackers.

The concept is anything from the Southern Hemisphere, and this allows the shop to showcase some superb and unique wines from places like Chile, Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. The two women who run the store are really friendly and always up for conversation and recommendations. On a recent weekend trip, I stopped in twice, buying four bottles each time!

Great selection of wines from the southern hemi. I picked up The McRae Wood, a nice shiraz from Australia. Quite a few other wines that I would have liked to pick up, especially from the Argentina and Australia. But thats going to have to wait for my next trip to Carmel.
