Great service helping put together an a few mens outfits. I hate shopping in general but the team at Robert Talbott really made it a good experience and I learned a few things especially from Maddox… he is the King of style. Fast service too. I bought a sports jacket and jeans that needed tailoring from them on a Friday afternoon and the clothes were ready that next afternoon.
They custom make clothes as well which is great. So next time — I only need to call them and pick a shirt fabric and they can create one for me for the same rack price. Not bad!

Robert Talbot is the best of the best. I purchased another beautiful hand made tie from RT about a month ago. Not only are they perfectly designed, they last forever. They are truly timeless.
Stop in and check out this beautiful store. RT are all over the globe and hand made in Monterey still to this day.
A small local family still owns this business.

These are the best ties and casual shirts around. And the customer service is what you’d hope for from a nice boutique shop like this.
I bought a few ties and dress shirts and one of them got a little beat up. I asked for some help and they were very professional and offered a new tie to replace the one that I had a problem with.

The other reviewer meant to review the Robert Talbott, Inc. mens tie shop on Ocean between Lincoln and Dolores. THIS location is the Talbot’s Womens’ Clothing store at the Carmel Plaza, no relation to the tie shop.
Ok, so: The Womens’ Clothing store is staffed by really friendly people, who are very helpful at putting together an outfit. I know because the ladies in my family enjoy shopping here. The sales associates are great at putting several pieces together that can essentially make more than one outfit.
They regularly have great sales here, and sometimes we think they are giving stuff away on triple markdown, (i.e. after the holidays.) All the ladies in this store are helpful and friendly. We like the two-​story location. They made the best out of the typical Carmel Plaza situation of too-​small retail spaces. Talbots built some stairs and they went UP when they needed more room. The store is on the 2^nd & 3^rd floors.
Talbots is for young and older women, who want to look their best. The quality of the clothing is really nice, and no matter what your age, you can find something well tailored. I would say the style is sort of like Banana Republic’s «dress casual» style. They sell bohemian print blouses with funky paisleys, yet it’s really high quality for a casual top.
You can get both casual and business-​appropriate attire here. Their business-​type clothes have a bit more fashion going for them than say, Banana Republic’s clinical, calculated look.
Talbot’s casual clothing line has a lot more sophisticated styling than Banana Republic’s slightly-​juvenile look. I would call Talbot’s line «upscale chic.» They have some really fun stuff here.
In a nutshell: Classy clothes, tasteful and stylish. What’s not to like? All the women in my family look great!
