I brought a friend here to try it out with me. Our experience was not great at all. We both ordered the White Devil pizza. The garlic fondue sounded amazing but we could barely taste any garlic on the pizza! It was a thin crust pizza with barely any toppings. The cheese had hardened as if it had been cooked too long and made the pizza super dry. To fix this, we got sides of marinara sauce. Guess what? They charged us $ 1 per each tiny cup of marinara sauce(which was basically good for only one slice of pizza). Completely ridiculous! Waitress didn’t even tell us they cost extra. Next time we’ll go somewhere where they actually give us good tasting pizza and not overcharging us.

Insanely expensive for just okay pizza. Breadsticks were just okay, very little flavor. The tomato sauce was very good. The wine was extremely overpriced. Will never go back.

We were regulars at the(now closed) location in Old Town Carmel, so now we have to drive a little more to get our Pizzology fix. We love Pizzology mainly for the crust of their pizza. The Carmel/Westfield area is, of course, inundated with artisan pizza joints, but what makes Pizzology unique is the ‘char’ that appears on bottom of the crust from the wood-fired oven. This gives their pizza something special. Keep in mind that Pizzology pizzas tend to be very light on the red sauce, which can sometimes give their pizza a dry taste, but this is how I like it.

nomnomnom so good. The atmosphere is relaxed and you aren’t packed in like sardines which is nice. The lunch special is an amazing deal-drink, chopped salad, and a personal pizza for $ 11. and it’s a lot of food-I brought half the pizza home for lunch tomorrow! Go there.

If you haven’t had pizzology pizza, run, do not walk. It is seriously good. And not only good, they do something magical with their ingredient selections. If you’re a mushroom fan, I definitely recommend the white devil. The service is great and the atmosphere is inviting. Kid friendly which is a huge plus for all you foodies out there with wee ones tagging along. Will definitely be eating here again.

Went with the house salad, the porchetta pizza with arugula and the side cars. Everything was amazing. The lemon vinaigrette was perfect. The garlic fondue side car was heavenly. You could taste the roasted garlic, the salty flavor, a little sweet. I could eat that on anything. I was in and out within 15 minutes and they were quite busy. Highly recommended

I think I’m the only person in Carmel who is not a big fan of the food. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I want the food to be great because this place is almost walking distance from my house. But the three times I’ve eaten here, nothing has tasted so good it makes me want to come back.

This USED to be my fav pizza in Indy! WHATSHAPPENED? I was a huge supporter, have eaten here at 3 different locations many many times. Service has always been hit and miss, now even the fare is suffering. Favorite menu items are being removed: my daughter loves the meatball sandwich, it’s gone. They take no reservations, no problem, but then they leave a table there with a party that hasn’t arrived, on a Tuesday, no problem, but on a Saturday night it meant my party stared at an empty table for 40 minutes while we waited. I used to suggest Pizzology to my many friends, now, go the the standby Bazbeaux, you won’t be disappointed. Too bad Pizzology, we had a great run together.

We have been here many times and always love the mussels. What a pizza place with awesome mussels, that is right some of the best mussels in the city. My wife and I split the full order of mussels and it was tasty but it does not stop there. The broth the mussels comes in is more addicting than anything you have ever tasted. We have always ordered bread stick to dip in the broth and it is great. During this visit another couple we meet at the bar gave us the rick to making the both that much better!!! We ordered a side order of plain past to put in the broth, I am assuming this is the type of food in heaven.

Took the whole family out on a Friday night. We got their early. We heard it is packed on Friday nights. Our server was great. My ten year old liked her buttered noodles– bless her heart and narrow list of foods that she eats. We ordered the four cheese pizza with pepperoni and sausage. I was disappointed in the pizza. The crust was burnt and soggy. The toppings were good but the taste of the soggy burnt crust was a deal breaker. I would give this place another chance. I’m all about the service and it was excellent.

Walked in and walked right out! Rude staff… Not interested in serving us… We were wondering why this place was empty! Never going back here and would not recommend it!

I love pizza. If you do, too, this place will impress you. It has some safe bets in their traditional and margherita pizzas, but will also tempt you with their array of cheeses and toppings. Additionally, try the octopus appetizer. It will change how you feel about tentacles.

The place seemed a little aloof when we first went in, don’t let that turn you off. The warm ricotta is amazing! Seriously, this is not to be missed, the fact that it only comes with 5 pieces of bread is a bummer though(you can purchase more). The pizza is a good mix of crusty and chewy wood fired deliciousness. My husband had the«Indiana Stromboli» and although not what he expected, he said it tasted delicious. It’ll be added to our return to list

Overall, this place is a winner. If you hit it on a night when they are running food specials and wine specials, you can get some really good food and really good wine on the cheap. The menu is very diverse and quite honestly, the non-pizza fare is better than the pizza. Their seafood preparations, namely the octopus and mussels, are always fresh, seasoned perfectly, and prepared skillfully. All of their sandwiches are tasty albeit a slightly messy endeavor. They have some of the most fresh, flavorful, and creative salads in metro Indy. The pizza.. . is somewhat inconsistent. They have well thought out combinations and top notch ingredients, but the execution at times has been off. Examples: rocket(arugula) salad left off when ordered; crust underdone; soggy crust(on their pizza, not because of some mismatched combo I created). The wine list is always solid; especially for those of us who enjoy Piedmont and the wines are priced fairly. However, let’s talk beer. I appreciate the fact they always support local breweries and have a diverse tap selection. But, the beers that are on draft often seem to be odd matches to the menu.

This is not your traditional pizza. It is fired in the oven so there may be some burnt chewy edges but it is good for something different. Try a unique mix to really experience this place. Kids weren’t fans but this is more of an adult pizza.

Everyone has raved about this pizza. What a monumental disappointment. I don’t like a lot of sauce but this was ridiculous… a half inch wide swatch painted around the outer edge and that was all. Minuscule splotches of cheese and a light dusting of other ingredients. Otherwise we spent $ 21 for a medium pizza of primarily just bread. Won’t be buying there again.

The best pizza in Indy area! Easily better than NY and Chicago style! The only pizza that is slightly better… travel to Rome. Handmade cheese, crust with the right amount of crunch & chew, quality ingredients. I recommend a pizza rossa w/peppadew peppers & any cured meat!

My biggest complaint is they take twice as long as other restaurants, even to get drinks. They’re also pretty pricey. The ingredients are top notch, however, and you can even watch as they flip the dough. Simple, modern ambience. It feels a little small with the bar in the middle. All their bread is charred intentionally. Overall it’s a yummy restaurant with ingredients you can feel good about. Just not my go-to pizza place.

Quick disclaimer: i do have an insider in the kitchen, so he gave my wife and I the good word on a couple of dishes prior to our dinner. Now, blow by blow — Chop Salad — really solid. My favorite way to eat salad and simple enough to screw up(they didnt). The citrus is there but it’s tame, and when you get a bite with all the components, it’s a party. Green Bean salad — menu said wood-charred beans which I didn’t note, but regardless, it was wonderful. Very balanced, very delicious — nice acidic aspect and the crispy prosciutto was spot on. May not order again, but would recommend you try it once. Very interesting. Muscles — we ordered a ½ Lb for two and absolutely demolished it. The broth was the star of the entire meal and I actually asked for spoons once the bread was gone, and brought the remaining broth home so I could freebase it after my wife goes to bed. She commented that she will drive through an Indiana blizzard in January just for the broth. Do with that information what you will. Finally, our pizza was The Saint and we added house made sausage. Wonderful pizza, nice slight char on the crust and just enough yeasty flavor and chew to know the dough was made fresh. It’s not a delivery pizza — it is it’s own beast and is elevated, but not in an annoying or avant garde snarky way. Just pizza for grown ups with jobs and stuff. Would absolutely order again. All in all a 5/5, heard a lot of hype before we moved out of the state and was happy to hear they were still doing great pizza 5 years later when we returned. Once my hombre’ on the inside told me about the rest of the menu, I had to throw a food party here and am glad that we did. Will go back, probably to just buy a ten gallon vat of muscles broth and some sort of IV and have someone shovel pizza down my throat while I shoot up in the back, abandoning my responsibilities as a father and husband.

Fantastic pizza! The first time we went we ordered the Baby Cheesus just because of the name. Admittedly we did not like that particular pizza all that well as it was, as the name suggests, very cheesy. However, the crust was amazing and we could tell that we should come back. So we did. The next time we ordered the Pepperoni Piquante and it was one of the best pizzas we had ever eaten. This will be our go to pizza place. To make it all better my husband and I can share a $ 15 pizza and both end up full.

I’m clearly in the minority here, but I truly do not understand the love that people seem to have for this pizza. The toppings are fresh and delicious. The sauce options are good. But the crust is always burnt, and clearly not on accident. Why is that?! Do people think that makes it gourmet or authentic? After trying the place a few times, we’ve just given up having pizza here. HOWEVER, the service at both locations we’ve been to(this one and the West Clay restaurant) has always been fabulous with very nice, helpful servers. Also, the warm ricotta appetizer is to die for(and could be a meal in itself)!

Our friends had been raving about the new pizza joints in town, so when we found ourselves on the north side we thought we’d stop in and try a slice. We were originally sat inside next to a table with four babies but moved outside because it was just too loud. After a long day of work I needed some quiet. Sat outside on the patio and it was much more relaxed — sans the fellow who wore so much cologne you could taste it in the air. Ick. We ordered our own pizzas just to try something different. I ordered mine with fancy bacon(it doesn’t say bacon on the menu, so be prepared to ask what some of it is). They don’t have chicken or green peppers on the menu, FYI. Added some ricotta and spinach. My other half ordered it with prosciutto and the white sauce and mushroms. Mine: Burnt crust, the ricotta literally turned into a sauce that melted everywhere and made the pizza soggy and they forgot the spinach. Hubby: Whew! That garlic sauce they have is absolutely kicking. I mean I don’t think I’ve ever had a garlic sauce that… garlicky. It was so overpowering it made me nauseous. Prosciutto was okay. Fresh mushrooms were added after the pizza was done cooking so they weren’t soggy and for those who don’t like the mushrooms you can pick them off. Breadsticks were okay. Doughy, but I felt like something was missing. Salt, perhaps? Very bland, as were the sauces. They have rootbeer with cane sugar, which was good. Overall, it was okay, but I’m not in love. I don’t know what the deal is with eggs on pizzas, but they offer that on the menu. Wide variety of local and organic options. I’d recommend going out on a limb and ordering something you wouldn’t normally get to try it. Tip: Steer clear of that white sauce unless you want to be single for a week.

Okay, the food here is wonderful. Easily some of the best pizza I have had in Indiana. The ingredients are fresh, and the pizza is cooked perfectly. However, the waiter who served us just added $ 1.10 to my friend and I’s bill with no explanation or plausible reason(one of us was not charged for the others amount, they were both just increased). When we asked him he said he must have made a mistake and corrected it. I don’t go out to eat because I love meticulously examining my bill to make sure my waiter isn’t ripping my friends and me off. I definitely recommend the food but double check your receipt to keep your waiter honest if you come here.

Webster’s definition of fresh pizza toppings and genius pairings is found here. Gourmet meets flavor. My favs are the warm ricotta, fresh octopus, steamy hot breadsticks with cheese fondue dipping sauce, perfectly stone oven baked pizza with cheese that stretches at the first bite. Their homemade fennel sausage is crumbly that deserves serious consideration as a topping to any pizza. We’ve always had great service, but Tom made today a great visit. Probably my favorite pizza place in the area. No one comes close.

I had been wanting to go here for a long time and we made the trip up yesterday! I have to say I’m so glad we did. I had the mushroom risotto with a poached egg and my wife had the grilled romaine salad. Both were terrific but nothing compared to the pizza. We had the Salasiccia and absolutely loved! It was spicy, the crust was light and crispy and the house made giardiniera was amazing. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was very cozy. We loved it and will return!

My wife and I decided to have a laid back anniversary dinner and headed over to pizzaology. I was craving mussels and had heard great things about the mussels there. To my disappointment they were out. I was pretty bummed. As we were seated we watched a child toss every cookie that they had that day all over the floor. The parents did clean this up. However, no one from Pizzaology used a mop to clean the floors. So now all the bad was out we ordered our dinner and it was to perfection. I can never complain about the food at Pizzaology. Just make sure your kids aren’t sick before heading here. No one wants to see anyone lose their cookies before dinner

The pizza was seemingly decent if not a bit pricey, but not too bad. The local beer choices are few, unimpressive and way overpriced. I didn’t care for the salad, but others in my group said it was OK. The seating is cramped, almost bumping elbows with those seated nearby, and ambiance and atmosphere lacking. I like pizza, but not this pizza. Too hipster for me. Being from Chicago I think I know a thing ot two about pizza. While I didn’t dislike the pizza entirely, while searching for something to compare it to, I came to the realization that I would have rather had Pizza Hut. Rare words from me, for sure. Our tab for a party of 4 was over $ 100, ridiculous considering the food and overall experience.

Went later at night, the place is hipster and the lightning is nice. The service was great, our waitress was very nice! The food is ok, and thats all i have to say about it. All four of my friends and I got a variety of different food and all came to the same conclusion. My friends and i even joked«If you go to pizzology dont get the pizza!» because the flavor is really not up to the standard that it should be for the price. I would recommend going somewhere else(like Napolese), the prices are similar but you get more bang for your buck. I had high hopes, I guess I’m disappointed.

So besides the crayon debacle, we loved this place! Right next to our church so I foresee us visiting frequently for Sunday lunch. The pizza selection is not huge but definitely covers all grounds. And the whole point of this place is to create your own mix … but that can boost your price. We stuck with the 4 cheese and the homemade sausage. 2 pizzas for 4 people, perfect amount! I was dying to try the fried risotto but alas, next time. The biggest downfall: they have the tables VERY close together. There is a bar area which looked a little more roomy and a great looking patio, but the main seating area is crowded. Too close for comfort. Also, there is an area where you can sit and watch the pies get made, great touch!
