A great asset to downtown Carmel. I stopped by and grabbed their fresh scallops. I’m from the East Coast and find great value in fresh seafood. I seared the scallops that night and they were delicious! The staff is both friendly and helpful. Things to note: like any butcher shop, you have the best selection in the morning. They also have different marinades and spices to suit all pallets if you’re interested in trying something new. There is parallel parking out front on Main St. but there is usually parking on most of the side streets.

Fantastic selection of meats, poultry & fish. Any unusual or exotic product you can imagine — Joe’s has it or will quickly get it for you. Quality is superlative — taste of the meats is awesome.

If you like friendly service and can relate to Ron Swanson’s passion for meat, Joe’s Butcher Shop is your place. Every time I’ve been here, I’ve gotten the kindest greetings and always been immediately helped. The employees are very impressive & efficient and really make this place great. The butcher shop has a large assortment of fresh meat that suddenly inspire you to get cookin’. They also sell rarities like ostrich and kangaroo too(for the more adventurous folk). They sell a lot of local products such as Broad Ripple Chip Co chips, Tulip Tree cheeses, and B. Happy peanut butter, as well as a few wines. They were slammed during the Christmas season and had two huge semi trucks out back full of product to match their demand. Happy to see a local business so successful and enjoyable!

We love Joe’s. We just recently moved to the area and are so impressed with their selection and quality. They have the best staff ever. Just had their special turkey for Thanksgiving, Oysters, Lobster Tail and filet for Christmas Dinner… we loved it all.

This place is the real deal! I called multiple butcher shops and meat departments and nobody was as friendly, knowledgeable and reasonable. Joe and the guys behind the counter were helpful and gave great advice. Joe even sent me home with the perfect thermometer for our prime rib. This will be my go-to butcher shop from now on.

I always get my meat here when I cook my Korean bbq. I ask them to slice it paper thin and they do it just like paper thin! It’s amazing how that makes any type of meat super tender. Give them a try! I call in ahead and pick up by about 3 – 5 hours. Since they need to partly freeze the meat then cut. Service is great!

Holy smoked sausage. Joe’s is legit. There is so much good meat here(that’s what she said). I left the store with a pound of hardwood smoked bacon, which I used for a dinner of pasta carbonara. It looked so good as the boy behind the counter was packaging it, though, that I had an urge to eat it raw. All of Joe’s meat looks good, really(that’s what she said again). They also sell so many spices, rubs, sauces, etc. to go with the meat, along with gourmet cheeses, imported canned tomatoes(San Marzano, whoo!) and local breads and sweets. Also, it just makes me feel good to know I’m supporting a local business.

Great meat! Not too pricy. Good selection of meats that are hard to find elsewhere such as elk.

Have a stomach ache from the sausages from the fridge. The ready to eat meats are horrible.

I have been coming here for years but after Valentines Day, this is the last time I will ever buy steak here again. They have good pork and some other things but I will never buy steak here again.

We love Joe’s Butcher shop. Yes, it can get a bit hectic on a weekend, but they help keep people moving by using a ticketing system with number(think DMV style) and the cash register is off to the side. I love Joe’s because they have commitment to quality, mostly local products. Fresh fish flown in 6 days a week! Some of the best bacon I’ve ever enjoyed! They have a nice large variety of grocery items as well, so if you forgot something that you need for a recipe, they are likely to have it. They take special orders and will cut up whole cuts of meats for you how you prefer as well.

Ever since moving to Carmel I’ve become a loyal shopper at Joe’s. Want fresh products that are free of chemicals? It’s at Joe’s. Want service with a smile? It’s at Joe’s. Want a selection of meats and fish? It’s at Joe’s. Pair your selection with a variety of authentic pastas and some of Joe’s favorite wines. There’s even a variety of crackers and cheese to set the stage for a delicious meal. And their eggs are incredible. Pricey but well worth the expense. All natural and straight from the farm. Even order your Thanksgiving and/or Christmas turkey from Joe’s. I happened to be at the store this year when they arrived in a semi-trailer… all 1,200 of them. Now that’s a lot of bird! While you’re there join the loyalty program for additional perks. Overall, it’s an incredible place that I will continue to appreciate for many days to come.

Best selection of quality meats in all of Indy. Fresh wild caught fish and dry aged steaks are a couple highlights.

Only burger I will eat is Joe’s Dry Aged. Moist, tender and flavorful without all that dripping fat. Supurb quality meet. We have gotten great fish from Joe, but we bring out own back from Florida frozen on dry ice where we winter, so don’t need to buy fish but rarely. The specialty items are fantastic. All round trust Joe and his employees 100%. Don’t let the long lines scare you, they move FAST! As for the pricing… you get what you pay for. Watch for their email specials every Friday. Oh… and Joe’s Baby Back Ribs cooked the way they advise you to do so, will be the best you have EVER eaten!

I got a coupon in the mail for a free pound of bacon or a free pound of ground beef — which got me in the door… and boy am I glad it did. This place is hoppin’! The guys behind the counter were all over the customer service and when I got my bacon(and beef… ok… and fresh mozzarella) home — the quality was amazing. Thanks guys! I’ll be back for SURE!

Stopped in this AM in my never-ending quest to locate a fine butcher shop. Happy to say we have a winner. In short this is everything you would expect a butcher shop to be. Wide varieties and different cuts of beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc. are all prominently displayed in their large counters. Many types and selections of bread, sauce, spices, wine, and other accoutrements are in the center of the store. So much to choose from here. Noticed a lot of local type locations that obviously are partnered with Joe(breads, etc.) Went with a couple pounds of smoked bacon and some brats for the weekend… bacon is awesome and am sure the brats will be as well. Turns out Joe was the one that checked us out and he gave me the full story on emailing list, etc. Very nice guy… told him his pic was on Unilocal and he laughed and said he was«concerned». A bit more expensive(this IS Carmel) but absolutely worth it. Just wish it wasn’t so far away from me… Fishers is absolutely crying out for a store of this caliber.

Nice store. It’s a butcher shop, but you can also find a small selection of other items like cheese, wine and different types of sauce. They have a nice offering from local vendors. I was excited that they sold Triple XXX root beer and Broad Ripple Chip Co. potato chips. I recommend Joe’s cookies; they’re about the size of a half-pound burger and they’re rich, but they’re excellent. For a local butcher, the prices are affordable depending on what you are looking for. Joe’s is located off the Monon in the Carmel Arts and Design District so there is plenty nearby to see and do.

Located in the middle of Main Street, this small butcher shop has big meats! The price is what you’d expect for quality food and the shop is darling. Much more than meats of all varieties, they have wine labels with what dinner it would pair best with, cheeses, bread, dips, sauces, rubs, you name it! I called ahead to see if there was any sea bass in the shop and they had it all cut and wrapped for me on my way home from work. And it me tell you, that sea bass was unbelievable. I am still using this place for special occasions(because of the price) but I hope to be able to shop there much more often!

It’s a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Carmel Arts and Design District. It’s one of the best places to get your locally sourced meat, poultry and seafood. They also have a variety of interesting mixes, rubs, BBQ sauces to complement your meat. Gourmet lovers will love this place as you can get your duck fat, Cipriani noodles and jamon iberico all under one roof.
