CBG Carmel Bar & Grill

I saw the word «sad» used to describe this place in two of the other reviews. They nailed it.
My wife and I came in several months ago after attending some function for her work. It was about 8:00pm on a Friday, The door was open, but there was no one inside (employees or customers), so I figured I’d just use the restroom and get out. Someone finally came out as we were leaving and told us that the bar and kitchen were in fact open. We sat down for a few drinks and an appetizer since we hadn’t had much to eat. They recommended the wings which were nothing special, but not terrible. The bartender was apparently one of the owners, and didn’t seem to know a thing about bar tending, but we didn’t order anything difficult, so he managed. His partner came out and sat down at the empty bar with us and chatted. They told us that they were going to have a DJ, and it would get pretty busy before long (not that I wanted to be at a crowded bar with loud music). When we left around 10:00pm, only two other people had come in, and they were both CBG employees with the night off.
Maybe it does get busy late at night, but I’ll never know. There’s no reason to go back. Small, expensive, weak drinks, and below average food.

Nice place, great music and drinks. The buffalo wings are awesome.
