So the wines were all ok. But the staff isn’t as friendly as the should be in the hospitality sector. Good location and nice art made by the owners wife, but as MARCO would say, I’m not a fan. Slow service.

I’m a self proclaimed wine snob. Living near Napa/Sonoma will have that affect on you. Anyways, I’m at my friends place and she pulls out a bottle of this Parsonage 2014 Grenache Rosé. This Rosé was exquisite– perfectly sweet with a clean, bold finish. I slurped down every drop. Fast forward to me visiting Grandma in Carmel Valley. Duh had to go to Parsonage. This cute little wine tasting room is in the heart of the Carmel Valley Village. I prefer wine tasting right by the vines but this is a great alternative! Service: 4⁄5 We had a lovely blonde woman helping us with our tastings. She was super attentive and bubbly which really added to our experience. Only downside was we weren’t given a list of what we were tasting nor did they have waters on hand. Vino baby, Vino: 5⁄52014 Grenache Rosé: the sultan of swat, the great bambino. If you are a Rosé fan, you will love this wine. 4⁄52013 Syrah: Their infamous Syrah which has won many accolades. A big bold red with a clean finish. Though I’m not a Syrah fan, this was my second favorite wine. Décor: 3⁄5 Tasting rooms are never as fun as being right by the vines. However, the aztec looking pillows they have are totally adorable.

My husband took me wine tasting in Carmel Valley for my birthday and this was our first stop. They were very welcoming and friendly. We picked which flight we wanted to try and were promptly served and explained about the wines. My husband was impressed with their Syrah which is his least favorite wine, so we were very happy with our wine tasting experience. The only downside was the wines were a little pricey, as we usually leave with a bottle or two. Other than that it was a great tasting, we have already recommended it to friends and family.

Such friendly staff! We were a little intimidated being the only ones to enter this wine tasting room because we are not wine connoisseurs, but the lady at the front made us feel so welcome and at home! She described each wine in our wine tasting flight to us in great detail and even answered any«stupid» questions we had! The wine flight is very reasonably priced and there’s cute décor(hand-made quilts to be specific) and seating to enjoy while sipping on your wine. Definitely recommend this tasting room if you’re in the area!

Was recommended to try Parsonage as they are known for their reds. Really enjoyed their flight and took home a bottle of Aussie Red Wine. .. don’t remember what the varietal was, but it was good!

My wife and I have been tasting at Parsonage for 7 years and members since 2009. We are experienced and knowledgable red wine fans and we both have distinctly different palates. We have tasted wines from every wine still available since their 2002 vintage. Although my wife and I don’t always agree on «which one is best» we both go away with a smile on our face and a great taste on our tongues. My wife consistently loves their Hawk Pinot. In 7 years I haven’t decided a favorite. It varies by year and pairing. The net effect is we have 200 plus Parsonage wines in our cellar. Wine maker Frank and Jeff and Summer in the tasting room make this is a high quality class act family winery. Do yourself a favor and visit Parsonage. Tell them Chuck sent you. Oh yea they make it fun also.

Favorite wine in the valley! It pays to have a sister with the wine club membership, saved 20%. My favorite was the Chardonnay, light but bold if that’s possible. The woman at the counter was friendly and real… we came from a few other wineries in the area where the staff was stuffy and seem to be reading from a script. It really annoyed me that I didn’t purchase wine from them even though I liked a few.(Makes a difference to me on the whole experience) You also HAVE to try their spicy/sweet pecans, delicious and goes so well with the wines.

A MUST visit wine tasting room in Carmel Valley! Our Wine Manager Jeff was extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the Parsonage Family wines. We were on our honeymoon and even got a bottle signed by their wine maker Frank, one of the owner’s son-in-laws! Mary’s quilts, which the wine labels are inspired from, are absolutely fantastic. A work of art. What a blessed talented family. Cheers! :-)

Wine: 3.5(a BIG5 for the Grenache — Syrah) Service: 5 Location: 3.5(5 for CV) Parsonage is a local family run winery and the tasting room is in Carmel Valley Village. If I can guess CVV is about 15 minutes from highway 1 and only 2 miles from Los Laureless Grade. Overall I’m not a huge wine snob but have done a complete tasting and only one wine has stood out to me in a Big Way. It happens to be one of my favorite’s of all time, regardless of label and it is their Grenache — Syrah. The tasting room has a nice, low key open vibe. Along with Friendly staff and attentive service you makes it a must on your CV wine excursion! Note — it is not common for this place to be slammed so service can be affected — be patience as it will be worth the wait!

Stopped at Parsonage Tasting room on a Central Coast road trip. This was my favorite wine of all the tasting we did. The owner poured our wine and shared stories of wine making. All of their wine were delicious! If you are near Carmel/Monterey this place is a must.

Still a fan of Parsonage. Not sure the wines or atmosphere is still five stars, but all in all worth a stop. We are certain to return.

Hey Parsonage family, I have been a fan of both your wines and tasting room since 2009. My visit this weekend left me wondering what happened to the friendly family place. My tasting was just OK, the host cold, not interested in talking to his guests, and, frankly quite arrogant about the wine. I miss the former hosts I have met in the past: Barbara, Brooke, and Frank who were truly personable to their guests. You still deliver a good product, but not great tasting experience:(.

I didn’t like any of their wines. not a one. I remember liking the label a lot and wishing I would like at least ONE varietal so I could save the label. but sadly… no. The wine tender was really nice and gave us many suggestions for dinner though. :)

This place was recommended to my friends and I by a few other wineries as they are known for their«big reds». The tasting room is very quaint and has a mini art gallery on display by some locals. My friends and I had a great time there. Their wines were fruitful and indeed«big reds» for the Monterey County. They were out of the white wines, which didn’t matter to me since we got to try more red wines. We had close to 7 tastings or so, and could even repeat a few tastings to see which ones we liked to buy. All my friends and I bought a few bottles to take home and even some for gifts. This place was one of my favorites. We met the wine maker himself, who is very personable. Although the tasting glass wasn’t free, you can buy it for $ 3/glass after u taste. It has a simple logo of the name on it, but a cool souvenir, nonetheless. I would definitely come back here again!

First visit, Sunday, April 1: Another small tasting room with some strong wines-best known for Syrah. Although I thought some of their other wines were a bit better. I visited a Second time(April 4th) with a group of 9 people a few days later… and we had the opportunity to visit the actual winery a big rarity but something that was arranged through our hotel and meeting planner. Our guide was Frank(who is the son-in-law of the owner Mr. Parsonage) and he was very kind to show us all around the 7 acre property and allowed us to taste not only the bottled wines but also from many of the wines still in the barrel. This is a small, family-run winery with only 2,000 cases a year production. Our group had a wonderful afternoon walking in the vineyard and seeing the production area and learning about wine. We very much enjoyed their Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon/Petite Verdot blend and many other delightful selections — all named for the 5 grandkids — Tanner, Xandro, etc. The concierge at our hotel the Carmel Ranch and spa were the ones who arranged this private behind the scenes tour and it was fabulous — we paid $ 25 per person and tasted about 9 wines including all of their high-end bottles($ 80 retail) directly from the barrel. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to go beyond the simple tasting rooms of Carmel Valley.

Perhaps we visited on an «off» day, but the service was not very friendly and the wines were just so-so. We visited last year and quite liked Parsonage, but this year it just didn’t have that special something. $ 8 for 7 wines is a pretty fair deal, though. It’s cool that they’ve got the art gallery to explore while you’re sipping on your wine, but the wines themselves didn’t wow me. Of course, everyone’s palate is unique — I personally love Boekenoogen, just down the road, so they’ve set my standards for Carmel Valley wine sky high.

This is a must visit if you are in the mood for wine! The art, which is fabulous, is an added bonus. We were visiting as a part of the wine trolley tour from Monterey, so we had tasting tickets already paid for. But since I mentioned I was a part of Unilocal,I got an extra tasting! It’s so fascinating how they design their wine labels. They take pictures of these beautiful quilts and enhance the coloring. The tasting room is a great size and you can stroll the gallery in the next room over. The wine gets you feeling so good and the art is so beautiful, you might end up spending more than you expected! I hope to return.

Roll over! this is a hands down 5 stars and more! I had the pleasure of tasting Parsonage Wines outside of their tasting room and in a very casual environment at a recent charity event. I met Brian, the tasting room manager, and he was by far the friendliest and coolest wine pourer I’ve ever met. He had great insight into the wines and brought such a great variety that I could see how spectacular parsonage wines can be from reds to whites. Especially when it came to their Chardonnay, I was surprised since I’m not usually a white wine person that it was delicious and well balanced on the palate. Suites just about every meal! Their Syrah is truly spectacular and even my white wine loving bf was drawn into the smoothness of the syrah. I feel like Parsonage is definitely a gem, something many people have yet to discover which is why their wines are such FANTASTIC value for money. I joined their wine club, I can’t wait for my next shipment!
