Holman Ranch Vineyards & Winery

For an estate wine and limited production, I was shocked by the price point. I won’t mention the prices on here but whatever you think it is, it’s even less. I’m a huge Pinot noir drinker so I’ll talk about theirs. It lacks sugar content so this will be for the big wine drinkers. It pairs great with bold foods. Grab a piece of steak over at Wills Fargo and you won’t regret the pairing. BTW, no corkage fee for Holman Ranch bottles. The flavor itself is dry, bold, and strong on tobacco. Go say hi to Tara or Duncan at the tasting room.

Had a wonderful wine tasting experience at the Holman Ranch Tasting Room! My friend and I went on a sunny, Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the white wine flight. The gentleman who was pouring was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the wines. We both ended up loving of their Estate Chardonnay. The room is gorgeous and we were so relaxed there. I recommend it to all of my local friends. Thank you, Hunter and Nick!

Lovely, amazing, quaint — loved every moment of our stay at Holman Ranch. The views are stunning and the entire property makes you feel like time is endless. Hunter is an incredible host and I’d highly recommend Holman Ranch for any corporate or social event you’re looking to host. Definitely stop by the tasting room on your way — the wines are beyond delicious! Thanks for the hospitality, Hunter!

Hunter and her team are so hospitable and knowledgeable! The location couldn’t be better and most importantly, you’ll find the best wines in the area! Their award winning whites are amazing and unlike anything else you’ve tried, although I personally fell in love with their Pinots. The best part was later that day seeing their grapes and knowing they’re so pure and organic that we could eat them out of the vine! Must visit :).

Amazing tasting room with amazing service!
I was one of the earlier customers on a Sunday around noon and was greeted very friendly by Dunkin, who was doing the wine tastings that day. Once he realized that I am really keen on wine (I always have my wine notebook with me to take tasting notes), he immediately provided lots of extra information to all the wines without the blink of an eye (and without me asking for it) — very attentive and great service!
A bit later, Hunter (owner) showed up — it was a great pleasure talking to her and to learn even more about their wines and to hear more background information about the winery, vineyard, tasting room etc. She was extremely friendly and helpful — I really appreciated all the extra information!
The wines are great — I especially liked their various and beautiful Pinot Noir’s: amazing wines! On top of it: all grapes are grown on their own vineyard (organic) in Carmel Valley!
As a wine geek I have seen many tasting rooms — from great to rather disappointing and I can say for sure that Holman Ranch is top notch (service and wines)! Thank you team Holman Ranch! I’ll be back — either for a tour on the vineyard or for another tasting ;-)

I was thrilled about visiting Holman Ranch vineyards but to my surprise our driver took us to the Holman Vineyards Tasting Room… Despite not being able to squeeze in a last minute reservation up to the estate our host at the Tasting Room, Duncan, was very welcoming & made our experience fantastic! He made us feel right at home and left us wanting to return very soon!

Delicious Chardonnay and very sweet staff. Duncan helped us and he is very sweet and informative. Close to coffee and pizza shop in case you need to sober up or grab a bite to eat.

We got nothing!
So disappointed, a good friend visiting from Redwood City wanted to visit this tasting room above all the others in Carmel Valley with limited time we arrived when they stated they opened at 11:00.
The door was open and four people inside having what seemed to be a meeting with binders and papers all over the table. A meeting? We were clearly seen and ignored. Not wanting to interrupt we waited… waited till 11:15. Not a word, eye contact or any gesture to us three as we waited outside the door. The nice lady in the tasting room next door was polite enough to offer us in. We said «were waiting for them to open.»
We were never acknowledge.
Just plain rude on top of bad customer service.
Were sure our dollars weren’t missed, but good words are priceless.
So Julian down the way and Chock Rock across the road were more than wonderful with good wine and conversation.
Last word… forgetful.

Tasting room was a blast. Visited Sunday, no crowds, just talking and tasting. Wine is quite good, but you have got to try the olive oil and red wine vinegar. Now that is the money! Well done.

We went in for wine but came out with 2 bottles of olive oil. each. The olive oil is hailed to be organic are estate grown. And I must admit this had to be one of THE best olive oils I ever tried. It went well with bread alone, no need for balsamic vinegar at all. It is pricey but worth it!

Went to Holman Ranch’s tasting room. The wine is delicious and every here is friendly. What more can you ask for. I was tempted to sign up for the wine club, but did not. When I was there, they were offering 2 free nights stay as a member. What an awesome perk.

This is the best vineyard in Carmel Valley… Nick the owner is fantastic and personally walked us through the property and wine caves.
The property is amazing and beautiful and the wines produced are award winning. Sign up for their wine club as finally there is a wine maker that takes a culinary approach to wine making and has some amazing «outside-​the-​box» wines like the «sweet love» and Pinot noir rose.
Well done Holman Ranch and we will be back.

This tasting room is great, from the service to the wine. I bought a pinot, and even came close to buying a chardonnay, which is not a type I usually like. In that same vein, I also don’t join wine clubs, but I am signed up for this one now. The combination of tasty wine + good deal was too perfect to pass up, which is pretty much never something I think about any wine club ever. If you’re tasting in Carmel Valley, you should stop at this one and check it out.

By far the best pinot noir ever. joined the club because it. Nick was the host is one of the nicest guys i have met. last time my wife and i went for a pick up we walked out with 15 bottles of pinot and thier virgin chard

Didn’t go to the estate, but the wine at the tasting room was outstanding.
Tasting room is next to the Parsonage tasting room in the main road.

We ended up at Holman Ranch for a quick glass of wine before leaving Carmel Valley. The wine is fantastic and the customer service was wonderful. Very cute tasting room and conveniently located. Looks like an amazing venue for a wedding!

Top to bottom, all of their wines are amazing –in particular, the pinot gris. Also, if Nick is there that day pouring, chat him up –he’s super knowledgeable and very friendly! Their wines and the staff are enough to make you want to be members –and did I mention the Ranch? Get invited to special events there– the place is breathtaking.

Not much to the tasting room here. They have lots of photos of weddings at their ranch. Seems like they do most of their business through events and not through selling wine. Skip this on your wine tour.
