I’m so sad that this place has closed. I skipped breakfast in anticipation of the peanut butter bar. Tear. I went on Facebook after I found out it was closed to investigate, and it sounds like the owners never had a day off, working 361 days a year for 12 hours a day, which is very tough! I wish they would consider creating a website because I would definitely get stuff to order.

P&P is no longer in business. If you see a redhead at Starbucks wearing black and a disgusted look on her face… RIP the world’s greatest Chai Latté

Amazing little secret tucked away from the craziness of Ocean Avenue run by a few sweet ladies. If you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, or dessert… They have you covered! First off… You have to get a Cinnamon Pull Apart… Think cinnamon roll but easier to eat and more amazing nooks and crannies for the icing goodness to ooze into! My favorite desserts are the peanut butter chocolate brownie and the lemon bars. If you’re into cream puffs, they make a mean one! I love their quiche with spinach, goat cheese, and tomatoes. I’m sure the mushroom quiche is great too, I just don’t like mushrooms! If I’m not getting quiche, I’ll probably have a breakfast sandwich with bacon and eggs on a croissant. They also make other breakfast sandwich combos on bagels and English muffins. Last but not least… Grab and go paninis and salads for lunch! My favorites are the Roast Beef panini and the Asian chicken salad.

Adorable little spot in the heart of Carmel — we stopped here after our morning walk on the beach during a recent vacation. All we had was coffee, croissants and a breakfast cookie and they were delicious. It’s a tiny place but with a nice seating area and a nice assortment of goodies to eat. I might be a regular here if I lived in the area.

A great little place! I live in walking distance so it’s a great place to pick up an espresso and some sweets for my stroll around downtown Carmel. I love their mini cupcakes too!

When in Carmel, go small. Pastries and Petals is a diminutive, patisserie style baked goods café. They specialize in sweets, which is exactly what you’ll be looking for while in Carmel. As you enter from the street, you’ll walk a few steps to their courtyard patio. It was too cold on the day we visited, so Luci N. & I headed inside, noting the granite topped tables and the feel of a country French kitchen. We chose a corner wall bench seat by the window and ordered: Nice foamy latte soy $ 4.50 Cinnamon pull apart $ 4.50 Apple strudel $ 4.50 The goods were all well made and the café charming. Like many of the shop owners in Carmel, the folks at Pastries and Petals have created a little haven. Stop in and enjoy!

If I lived in Carmel you would find me here every Saturday for brunch or tea and pastries. This tiny shop is so cute, and serves a wide variety of cupcakes, pastries, and other sweets. After much deliberation, based on the servers suggestion and Unilocal reviews I got: * Oreo Cupcake(2.5STARS): The cake on the cupcake was pretty good, very moist, rich and dense. However, it was a tad bit too sweet, and the frosting just took it to diabetes territory. I have a pet peeve about frosting when it is overly sweet to the point that the frosting is grainy, hard and retains its shape when poked. * Peanut Butter Cookie with Fudge Center(2STARS): Tastes like a Keebler cookie. It was OK, but I really am not a fan of the crumbly type of cookie. The fudge center could have been a redeeming quality but there was very little of it and it didn’t taste unique. * Peanut Butter Brownie(5STARS): The PB Brownie was pretty amazing, topped with a chocolate ganache and a layer of rich, chunky peanut butter in the middle. The peanut butter contained whole crunch peanuts giving it a great texture, even better when slightly melted in the car :) Overall, it’s a cute place worth stopping by for afternoon tea and a sweet treat. I would recommend ordering based on appearance, as the service was polite but not especially friendly when I asked for recommendations. The desserts were inconsistent but the peanut butter brownie was so good that I would definitely stop by the next time I visit!

While waiting to get my haircut, I decided to check out Pastries and Petals for a quick breakfast. After browsing their selection of baked goods that day, I noticed a fresh pan of cinnamon rolls so I knew that was a definite yes. I asked if they had any savory options that day and unfortunately, all they had was their croissant. Cinnamon roll-great size, sweetness was balanced well, relatively moist(more on the dry side) Croissant-buttery, a good bite feel but again on the drier side Overall Thoughts Definitely wanted to be on board with everyone else but couldn’t find the magic that everyone else experienced
