Excellent food and service. There’s also a nice lady selling tostadas near the back. Definitely will be returning soon!

Was looking for something to go and stopped in here to check out the deli. It was hard to choose what to order between the made-to-go sandwiches and the already prepared foods. To order, you have to grab a number and fill out a form of what you want on your sandwich. I ended up ordering a panini for my friend and a pint of the posole they were selling that day. The woman told me she made the posole herself and only does so on Saturdays– just my luck! It was delicious and hit the spot. My friend said his sandwich was pretty good and that the ingredients were good quality. In addition to the deli they have a good selection of other items in the store. Good place for a satisfying, cheaper meal in Carmel. Parking lots out front a plus.

Seriously, the best egg salad sandwich ever! I ordered one with bacon, sprouts, lettuce, and red onion. The deli guys were very sweet and the quality was excellent. Plus, it was only around 7 bucks!

Hubs loves a good deli sandwich. So we Unilocaled for delis in Carmel. This popped up with mixed reviews. We decided to give this place a go. The rating is for the deli service and sandwich. Parking: Pro– They have a small parking lot and there is 2 hr street parking. Deli service: It was Tuesday around 5:30 pm when we went. The shop was not busy at the time, kinda dead. If you want a sandwich, you fill out a form. They also have a number ticket taker, but since it was slow, it wasn’t being used. The deli wait was FOREVERLLOOONNNNGGG. 3 staff passed us and other customers saying they’ll be with us. The folks behind us in line gave up and left. We stayed frozen in time. Finally the deli guy came back around after 15 minutes. We ordered a salami sandwich(with jack cheese, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and pickles) on a French roll. It took awhile for it to be made. The fella that helped us was friendly and had an awesome attitude… but seemed to be in no rush with the customers. The sandwich was placed on a styrofoam tray and saran wrapped. It was a pretty large sandwich. Drink selection is vast. We picked up a couple of glass bottle old school sodas– 7 up and Pepsi. Sandwich: We tore into the sandwich in the car. To me it tasted off. Hubs thought the salami was a bit dried out/stale as if it was cut off the chub and sat around exposed to air. The overall sandwich was ok but not super stellar. Pricing of the sandwich and drinks were reasonable.

Meh. If you scroll through the reviews, you’ll notice that the more recent ones are pretty varied between 1 – 4 stars. This inconsistency should’ve been a red flag, but we came here with high-ish hopes for the sandwiches. needless to say, we left disappointed. The deli/sandwich counter is really slow and inefficient. There were three guys working in the back, and it still took them 10+ minutes to make three sandwiches. You can do the math here. The quality of the sandwiches was the most disappointing part. What ruined it was the soggy, untoasted, cold bread! Even the warm tri-tip sandwich(tri-tip itself was actually quite delicious) was ruined because of the soggy bread! We ended up throwing away more than half of the cold bread. Would not come back.

Delicious. Great market with shockingly good produce and a great deli. Grab some sandwiches and eat in the park. If you get lucky it will be a carnitas day. This is a wonderful shop that has been around for years. relax.

Fresh bread rolls, meats, and veggies for my delicious Ham-jack-cheddar-lettuce-tomato-onion-pepperoncini-mayo-mustard + chips + can of soda = $ 9! Write down your request, give it to the employee, and wait for fresh food. The sandwich was huge, so I saved half for the next day’s lunch. The bread was still great. Come here if you’re touring the area and don’t want to spend too much for a bite to eat. There is also a nearby park to sit and eat. Good for people watching.

My sandwich had stale bread(just one of the two pieces), and although I’ve never known mustard to go bad I think the staff should take a close look at the bottle of whatever it was they served me. I’ve had better sandwiches at Subway. The chaos at the counter was avoidable. They need another reel of tickets in the«take a number» machine. So, the service was slow and the food was marginal… Two good reasons to go somewhere else next time.

They have a parking nazi that is incredibly rude and doesn’t speak English, doesn’t really know what he is doing, and doesn’t care. He was all over me, telling me to leave, since I got out of my car and stood by it(waiting for my friend to arrive) instead of instantly running inside to buy stuff. No manner of explanation could get him to say anything other than the one«you can’t park here you have to leave now I call the police» line he knew. Friend showed up. We told the parking nazi to bug off and went in and ordered sandwiches. Deli clerks could not have been slower. Twenty people in line and they just couldn’t care to pick up the pace at all. Upon check-out, a small bag of popcorn wouldn’t scan. The cashier shouted out to someone in distance asking for the price. A shout came back«$ 2.99. No wait, I think it is $ 4.99». Despite the clear uncertainty, the cashier instantly chose the $ 4.99 price and completed the sale. It happened so fast I had to ask«wait… was that bag of popcorn really $ 5?» She said yes. So I said I didn’t want the popcorn as I wasn’t going to pay $ 5 for 2 ounces of popcorn. The cashiers’ immediate scowl thrust upon me, combined with the overly dramatic sigh of extreme inconvenience, was impressive. Without saying a word to me, she reversed the sale and handed me $ 5 back. Horrible«customer service» in the parking lot, in the deli, and at the cashier. Sandwich was OK at best, too. This is sad. I grew up in this area and Bruno’s used to always be the place to go. Guess I’ll hit up Safeway from now on.

I was honestly really excited to try this place, because it had decent reviews and I heard it’s THE deli to go to in Carmel. To my surprise, I found that my sandwich was just mediocre. Maybe I chose the wrong things, but despite my many toppings, flavored mayo and sauces… It was still pretty bland to me. I would say it was comparable to a Subway or Togos, which isn’t bad at all, but nothing special.

My husband went to the deli section to purchase tri-tip. The man behind the counter was weighing out raw pork with bare hands for the customer just before my husband. When it was my husband’s turn the deli guy was SO rude. My hubby asked basic questions as we’d never been there before. This guy is rolling his eyes, giving snarky answers. My husband ordered sliced tri-tip. The guy touches the cooked meat bare handed after handling the raw pork. My horrified husband walked out leaving behind the pork-funked tri tip. Very rude! Your money’s better spent at 5th Ave deli there in town.

We wanted to walk around the neighborhood, so we parked here and grabbed $ 10 of snacks(as a courtesy for using the parking). We sat in the parking lot and enjoyed our snacks, then grabbed our cameras and went for a very quick stroll around the neighborhood. When we got back, a man was chasing us down. He stomped up to us and said,“Did you read the sign?“ We responded, «Yes, and we bought food.» He snarled, «Well you should leave immediately. You and your cameras, you should’ve have just bought things and left.» We looked out onto the ½ full parking lot and just got into our car. We totally understand that the spaces could be valuable, but we came at a time that wasn’t busy AND we bought items from your store. Even just a kinder, «Hello, did you buy anything from us today?» would’ve sufficed. Grumble grumble grumble.

Bruno’s offers very refreshing, yummy, and affordable sandwiches. This place is a great lunch to-go spot after hiking, frolicking, or just because. My bf and I came here after hiking at Point Lobos State Reserve. These sandwiches were able to fill us up and then some. I ordered the Tri-tip sandwich(AMAZING) and my bf made his own custom sandwich. The line is kind of all over the place in the back of this market, but the workers are really systematic about it. The sandwich was definitely worth the wait! Everything is fresh: bread, meat, and veggies. The next time we venture down to the Carmel area, we’ll make sure to get another couple of their sandwiches!

This is for the deli sandwiches only — the Francesca roll, as promised on the personalized«list» by which you order, is not delivered. Why not? The meat portions are 2 ounces at best. The rest of the ingredients that are included are in minuscule amounts. Lastly, the guys making these sandwiches wrap them so tight in plastic wrap that they look unappetizing at first glimpse after waiting 15 minutes for your order. The icing on the cake is when you get to your destination and unwrap the sandwich and it is soggy as all hell. May as well buy a pre made sandwich at 711. Better sandwiches at Mundos, Compagno’s and even the Village market in the Valley.

Sensacional!!!

This is a small deli and a grocery store right next to one of the most beautiful parts of Carmel. You can pick up groceries here or you can stop by for quick pre-made sandwiches, salads(smaller selection) and hot food(specials change everyday and today was carne asada!) I picked up a chicken Caesar salad wrap for a quick bite which was just $ 4.50 and it was delicious. If I had more time I would have def tried the hot plate. Staff was friendly and you can easily find whatever you would normally look for in a chain market.

Most folks come to Bruno’s for the tri tip sandwich… which is fine if that tickles your fancy. But I’m more of a burger gal. Surprisingly, Bruno’s makes a pretty decent burger, too! It was late Saturday morning and the crowds hadn’t yet descended upon this Carmel deli. We walked right in and were helped at the back counter. There’s a sandwich menu if you prefer to stick with traditional favorites, or fill out a little sheet of paper with your preferences and get a custom sando. Or just order the ½ lb beef patty like Yours Truly. In all honesty I wasn’t expecting much from this burger. But it was actually pretty good! Cooked just right, with a little pink in the middle, and topped with lettuce, ketchup and mustard. Sesame seed bun was fresh. No way was I going to eat it all, but I finished probably half? Don’t worry, it didn’t go to waste… I had help. Take a soda and a bag of chips to go and enjoy outside in the Downtown Carmel park! There was an art fair going on as well as a steel drum duo. Made for a nice early lunch!
