Food is good. Ambiance is great and they had a live band. Service sucks our waiter only stopped by 3 times during the whole meal. When the food was dropped of they didnt ask if we needed something else and left us with no silverware or drinks. After 5 min of waiting i just went around other empty tables to grab silverware. My wife the next day was sick from the mussels. By beet salad was nothing to brag about. And my son’s octopus apaertzer was the worst he had. We wont go back.

Very bad experience tonight. I come here frequently for lunch and happy hour, but not dinner. Based on my experience, I will never have dinner here again. The service was very slow… the waitress was also covering the bar, so that part is not her fault. They were understaffed and she was overworked. The bar was somewhat busy, so I was not surprised by the wait. It took 10 minutes for my glass of wine to appear. I ordered the«special» which was shrimp and penne with a lemon sauce. Yum, right? My server came back and told me, oops, no penne, is linguine ok? Hey, it’s your special so yeah I guess fine. I sat there, I kid you not, for over 30 minutes with nothing. No one coming by, no dinner, no glass of water, nothing. At one point I made eye contact with the hostess, but she quickly turned her attention to the bus boy and started making small talk with him. I almost got up and left. Food arrives. It’s bland and unappealing. The shrimp are overcooked. I ask for parmesan, and red pepper… anything to help. It doesn’t. I push the half eaten plate away and my server comes back. As I hadn’t eaten much she asked, and I told her, nicely, that it was not very good. She said«Awwww». I told her I was actually still hungry and so I ordered an appetizer. Not once did she offer to take the entrée off the bill or ask if she could replace my meal. I mentioned to her that I come in weekly for lunch, and thought I’d try something new, but I got nothing but shrugs. It sucked paying for a meal I didn’t like and hardly touched. Big bummer. I liked this place and came here for lunch and happy hour a lot. And where was the owner or management? I saw a few people hanging out next to the kitchen who looked over at me a few times, but no one ever came to talk to me. Not the end of the world. There are lots of other places to go in Carlsbad. I will miss the mussels though. they were good.

I love it here! The service is great and the food truly is delicious! When we stopped in, it wasn’t too busy(which I definitely preferred) and we got a great table by the fire pit. Will definitely come back!

I had a craving for the uncommon gyro and thought the hubby and I should try this place for lunch. Walking in I wasn’t too sure. Only 1 hostess/waitress/bartender for 12:30 lunch??? Looking around there was a variety of patrons from senior citizens, tourists, and businessmen. We picked a booth and were provided the 3 daily specials in a very detailed manner that made each one sound as delicious as the first. The menu offers a variety of dishes that could suit anyone’s tastes from Greek to pizza from fish to pasta. We both ordered the gyro sandwich. I chose a Greek salad for my side, hubby chose French fries. The salad was large enough to share, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Our gyro was equally delicious with fresh tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, plenty of moist gyro meat and a generous portion of tzatziki sauce. The service was outstanding! My water glass was never empty, our meal was prepared quickly and served hot. I really can’t find any reason why we wouldn’t be back.

I’m giving this place one star for our great customer service. But, since we went in for food I have to keep it at 1 star. I had the seafood special with penne pasta. The pesto was good but shell pasta wasn’t cooked all the way and the fish tasted bad or too fishy. My hubs had the cab short rib. Small portion for $ 25! And barely any flavor. Just ok… fish and chips cold. Shrimp scampi was just ok as well. For $ 100 dinner we left bummed. Hopefully they work this out with their chef.

Incredible: Service Food Customers Experience Highly recommend Hannah, she’s amazing and a great pour. Super nice, remembered my drink and it wasn’t weak, to say the least. Happy hour ALLDAYSUNDAY«WHAAAAAAT!» Enjoy a cold one with the locals or you can meet some new peeps that are in town from the hotel across the street.

Pros: It wasn’t very busy. The food wasn’t bad. Cons: I have no idea what my waitress’s name was. She never introduced herself. My water glass was dirty so I asked for another. Then I ordered a Coke, and it came in the dirty water glass from before. The dirt on the outside was exactly the same. Please wash your glasses better. We ordered an appetizer. It came out after our food because the waitress forgot to put the order in. My son’s pizza was undercooked — the dough was gooey in the middle. We won’t be coming back. Maybe they were just having an off day.

Was passing through on a Friday Night when I was looking for something to eat at nine o’clock pm The restaurant looked appealing from the outside. It turned out this restaurant had a simple menu that was Mediterranean inspired. I got a gyro plate and my wife got a Greek salad to eat. We also had an appetizer. The staff was very friendly and we did not have to wait for any refills on drinks. There was live music and a home environment that was just inviting. The food and atmosphere was very good. I would come back here again.

Food was decent. Entertainment tonight was super. I got served my meal before my husband. They weren’t expecting the crowds with this band. Still… Staff was friendly. I would come back with friends. If I have enough ladies(or couples) I’ll reserve the heck out of the patio. Will see if timing of service improves next time & so I may UP my rating.

Went here for dinner without reading Unilocal reviews. My husband ordered the«homemade» fish and chips which are $ 16 and they came out as like frozen dry fish sticks with terrible cole slaw and undercooked fries. The service was great but the restaurant was pretty empty. Overall it is over priced and low quality food.

I came to this place hoping to try something new and possibly find a new place to go regularly. In the end, neither of those were fulfilled. You have to give them credit for the smiling faces. And, we went on Mother’s Day, so they gave us a rose. But after that, things started going downhill. First of all, it took a long time to just get the menu. And after they gave it to us and we ordered, it took a VERY long time to get everything! Also, once we finally got everything, the look of the food was bad. It looked very unappetizing, which didn’t help once we tasted the food. I ordered the chicken, an it wasn’t at all what I imagined it would be like. It was dry and hard. I didn’t even bother to change the order, I wasn’t going to wait another 45 minutes to get another meal! All in all, I advise you not to get your hopes up if you were planning on going!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! The dishes all look so beautiful we didn’t want to eat them, they were so good, rich, and filling. Salmon was cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. The musician, Billy, added to the relaxed atmosphere. The décor is really cool and different. Can’t wait to go back!

Do not be fooled by the advertising! We visited the flower fields today and saw an ad for this restaurant. Without even checking Unilocal,we came here. We ordered homemade fish and chips $ 16(It tasted like stale fries and fish sticks), and the short rib bolegnese $ 18(which was equally as bad). The meat was tough, the noodles were undercooked and the sauce was bland. Horrible! The service was slow, we should have left when we were waiting so long for our food. I’m seriously looking for another restaurant to get the taste out of my mouth!

Read some current reviews so decided to stop in. Got here at 3ish on Tuesday. Only a handful full of people. Seen a mini band setting up while there. I didn’t see my go to IPA(Sculpin) but they did have 2 others that were(ok). Now the food. I ordered off the happy hour menu. Chicken strips. Very different(home made style). Good ! Then I got my go to octopus. Just as good as ever. Lastly I got the Frys. These were odd with the cheese they used but went well with my IPAs. I sat by the window and could see Green Dragon parking lot. Few cars there as well so guess business slow all around. So, my experience was good. Maybe due to what I ordered. Note; both owners we’re working in kitchen when I was there. :-)

Went while on a trip with the boyfriend and we both left dissapointed. I ordered the scallop dish, which had a potato cake under with some cooked spinach. My plate was $ 29 and the scallops were not rinsed properly. 4⁄5 of my scallops had sand still in it and on top of that. The potato cake just seemed to be there with the scallop. It did not really go with the dish, just sat there. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips which came with only 3 skinny fish sticks and the smallest side of sauce. The fish sticks were«just slightly chewey.» He described them as rubbery and probably the worst ones he has had in a long time. Positive notes! 1. The house wine was delicious 2. The asparagus was cooked and seasoned very nicely with the scallops.

This was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in quite awhile. I feel extremely guilty suggesting we try this place. The service was below average. We were seated right away and within just a few min the server was over to take our order. I hadn’t even glanced at the menu so I let him know we needed more time. We were given more time. A lot more time. So much time I was wondering where he was. The dining room was empty. I spotted him behind the bar so he might have been wearing too many hats so the fault may not have been in his hands. Looking over the menu they had a few things that looked tasty. The Greek salad(without and protein add ons) was $ 13. My sister and I decided we would split the Greek salad and a Greek pizza. The salad came out and both of us looked at it and almost in unison stated that there was no way it was a $ 13 salad. It was puny. The dressing was good but didn’t taste homemade. The Greek pizza was pretty good but was missing something. Crushed red pepper. Unfortunately our waiter was nowhere in site so we weren’t able to ask him for red pepper until we were almost done with the meal. They served the kids two of the worst meals I’ve ever seen. The quality of the kids plates was well below school cafeteria food and each kids plate was $ 9. Seriously? The kids fish and chips was 2 microwaved fish sticks. I’m not kidding. The kids cheeseburger was a tasteless frozen Patty that tasted microwaved. The fries were gross. Even the ketchup was an off cheap brand in a Heinz bottle. I could tell by the texture. Heinz has that nice smooth texture and this stuff was chunky looking. I rarely feel like food is a waste of money but I def got burned here. It was a waste of $ 50.
