I really liked my massage with Elaine, even though I had never had an Asian-style massage before(I’m not quite sure why the spa is called«European Touch» though…). I assume her technique is Chinese(she is from there), and while it differs greatly from my usual tickly Swedish massage, this was much more therapeutic for my knotted-up, post-pregnancy back. She pressed hard with her thumbs and heel of her hand on my various pressure points, uncomfortable at times, but really helped loosen up those muscles. She could tell without even asking me where my worst knots were(left side, where I hold the baby mostly) and my wrist(also from holding baby, one-handed). She also worked my neck. If you’re used to gentler kinds of massage, you might be a little startled when she smacks your tailbone, head, and feet(very firmly), but I suppose that’s just the technique. I just went with it, and found it was actually much more effective than gentle massages. These days, I’m looking for someone to really dig into my muscles, not tickle them. Give me deep tissue, please! I came out feeling very loose and relaxed! I had not read any reviews prior to coming, and I’m glad I didn’t b/c I probably would have gone in with a more critical eye. They may have moved locations since many of the other reviews, bc I didn’t notice any strange noises or signs. The only thing that might be difficult is understanding Elaine, as her English is not the best. She is very sweet and tries hard to communicate, so I just made sure she knew my appointment time.

I had my reservations about having a message done but went ahead and got the special off groupon. The massage therapist is named Elaine she’s very nice. I explained to her that I was recovering from back surgery so she recommended therapy which was much needed. She even knew what side I slept on, which side I had the surgery on just by giving me my massage. I like that she explains what she going to do before she does it. and if additional charge for something. She let’s u know. I would refer her. My pain is controlled now about 70% and that’s good considering I had a major back spinal fusion surgery. Elaine is great

I spoke to Elaing in person at the end of March to make an appointment for April. She told me she would be traveling and that I should make my appointment the first week of May. Before I left for the appt just the other day I read some of the terrible reviews and was ready to back out, so called the number to cancel. While the answering machine is still working, the mail box was full. So off I went to at least check the place out. Guess what… it is closed and they have moved. A downstairs office personnel told me they moved a month ago. I immediately got on line with Living Social where I purchased my coupon and they refunded my money. I plan to phone them as well to let them know that this business has moved and to not sell any more coupons.

I would give this business 0 stars but that is not an option. I received a Living Social gift for a 1-hour massage from this business, however after several attempts to make an appointment over the course of a month, I never received a call back. Thankfully the person who gave me the gift was able to get a refund from Living Social. If you are debating whether to give this place a try, my recommendation would be to save yourself the frustration and disappointment and look elsewhere.

I saw an offer on groupon so I made a reservation. They were in the process of moving, so there was a lot of construction and moving around. The massage therapist left the room three times and answered a call on her cell phone. She told me that she made everyone leave because I felt uncomfortable. Two of those three times she left during the session she left the door open. Her work was mediocre at best. I could not enjoy the massage due to her leaving and the extra noise of people working that should not have been there. Do not go to this place!

I purchased a coupon for a 1 hour massage here. Hoping it would be good as I live in the area. Unfortunately it was the worst massage I have ever had and I have had hundreds. No idea what the technique was other than painful and not relaxing. She charged an extra $ 10 for some essential oil she added which did nothing for me. When I left I just paid the $ 10 and then she said«no tip.» Very unprofessional and rude. I had a little cash so gave her a few dollars. The place was dirty and a sign in the massage room stating not to ask for sexual favors which I have never seen posted before. Anyway don’t waste your money.

so i did read Unilocal trying to see what i was getting myself into. I know buying a Groupon doesn’t necessarily say«great business, we want more» but i felt since this was in the village right by Blue Ocean its gotta be okay. And reading the reviews, I’m asian myself and feel bad for the hard working ones, and are trying to make their dime, just haven’t gotten the English down yet. So yes when I called, i had to repeat myself like 3 times and speak louder. okay so warned by Unilocal about the location. See pic. Once you walk through the doors, i can see some people who don’t get prompted from Unilocal to walk right back out(see other pic) i’ll save details, but definitely nothing notates massage, european, relax, zen, anything in the office. The massage– the next room had two massage beds(another pic) and she did have posted her CMT certificates along with a DoTerra certificate. Room did not have AC, and had a roof fan exhaust thing, that scraped metal every two minutes, to attempt to ventilate the room. over time it became monotonous relaxing sound. massage? i’ll rate a 3. she scared me a bit because I did share with her i was 5 mos pregnant, and she said something i didn’t understand, and then left. Came back with a massage text book, that i was scared she was going to teach and learn on me as she went. I guess she just brought it to explain what techniques she was going to do, but i still have my doubts she did a refresher or crash course. overall i think i didn’t rate high because of the unknown uncomfortability, that i didn’t leave relaxed. I didn’t leave thinking my $ 50 massage was semi worth it. i even came home still complaining about my back, and husband inquisitively inquired that i just came from a massage. I was hesitant on this review, again for the hard working 1st gen’s that come out here, but also this is what Unilocal is for. I did take pics of the infamous signs for«favors» not being allowed. and though i saw what point they were trying to make, this did add to my nervous factor.

There are two businesses in one office. I have gotten 4 massages from Elaine here. She is very sweet and professional. I have major back problems and she is very strong and works out all the knots in my back. I can see how people might get confused about the situation considering there are 2 rooms and 1 office area, but I assure you Elaine is a very talented and professional massage therapist and I strongly recommend her.

I think that there is a big confusion going on about this place. You see, I work downstairs at the sushi restaurant and I always assumed that it was one business but from my understanding of what my boss has told me there are two different massage services being offered up there. The«European Soothing Touch» is run by a very nice and talented woman named Elaine. If you call the number on the sign that is who you will get. And that is what I did one day around noon and she got me in at 12:30 which was very convenient since most places can’t get you in until the next day. The massage was great, she worked out all the kinks I had in my shoulders and back. The price I felt was very reasonable, 60 $ for an hr and she even included oils for me as a deal since I work downstairs. Overall I was very happy with my experience, so happy that I ended up going back a few days later for a quick 30 minute. I would definitely recommend Elaine to anyone!

I would never go back. Pros: –Owner is very nice and sweet –small family run business Issues: –90 minute massage purchased, received only 75 minutes massage. –inexperienced masseuse, didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing. –substandard equipment and setting. Was so humid and damp in the place, sweat through the massage sheet. paper towels used instead of towel for face. unsanitary cracked leather-like pillow, felt gross cracking and peeling against the skin. –kind of weird and creepy vibe about the place. Bunch of signs requesting patrons not request sexual favors printed out on the walls and doors –extremely difficult to communicate with owners, did not understand request to focus on shoulders and neck. They actually completely skipped shoulders despite requesting extra time spent on shoulders. Avoid! Also, as an added negative, the place does not relate to any sort of European massage. I’ve had massages the world over, and the closest thing this massage resembled was a Balinese sort of massage, but without the expertise and skilled application of digging elbows…

Had a 90 minute massage there today, hubby had bought it for me on Groupon. I will not be returning. Agree with all previous comments. The place has no décor and seems dirty. Massage therapist was ok at best, was nice, but hard to understand. The kicker was the sign posted in the massage room asking customers to not ask massage therapists for sexual favors!

My husband got a groupon deal for this place, and he said the people were very unprofessional, the lady who gave him the massage offered to give him an extra 30 minute massage(on top of his Groupon deal) for $ 20 only but when he went to pay she charged him $ 30 saying that it was $ 10 extra for the oils she used on him, which she didn’t mentioned to him before the massage. She was also demanding a tip which I thought was very rude especially after charging him extra for something he didn’t ask for. She was very rude when he gave her a tip, she then yelled something in Chinese and then in English said«that’s it?!» My husband was furious at the lack of professionalism, appreciation and customer service.
