Aviara Golf Academy

I had the opportunity to spend 3 days with my wife at the Academy. Both Bruce and Grant were both fun and practical. I kept warning them that depending on the progress that I make will determine their Unilocal rating. They are very strong in fundamentals and stick to the script on what works.

I had a wonderful experience and could not recommend it enough to others. For anyone looking to learn the «truth» about how to play golf and proper diagnosis of your challenges, rather than quick fixes or band-​aids for your deeper problems, this is the place. I attended a three day session, and they ensure a balance between long-​game instruction, short-​game, and on-​course instruction. The instructors are amazingly nice, welcoming, and patient. Kip Puterbaugh even give a nice introduction on the first day. My instructor was Bob Knee and aside from being extremely knowledgable, he is very personable and engaged with all of his students. My class had a spectrum of students at different levels, but because of the way the run the course, that poses no problem– you will get personalized instruction just for you.
This is a top-​notch experience offering the highest quality of golf education available, period. A great investment in your golf game.

I was fortunate enough to check out Aviara Golf Academy on a Unilocal Elite event. I had never been to Aviara so it was a great taste of what they have to offer. We got a quick lesson in putting, chipping and driving. As expected in the La Costa area the facilities and course are top notch. We got to meet most of the teachers and Kip Puterbaugh, the head pro, gave us some insight on golf and the Academy. The coolest part was the technology they have for the custom club fitting. The four star review is only because I just received a sample of what the academy has to offer. From what I saw I definitely recommend Aviara if you want to improve you game. This was a fantastic experience and dramatically improved my game. Every facet of the game was addessed with support, clarity and humor by Bruce– a truly amazing guy. I wish I had the money to go back and do it again because my golf has reverted back to many old bad habits– so much that I’ve nearly given up the game. When I retire and can play more I’ll definitely be going back to Aviara.
I can’t imagine a better learning experience– no matter the skill level– than what I got at Aviara– it was remarkable (and did I mention fun?)

I spent 3 wonderful and busy days at Aviara. I’m not an avid golfer but loved the experience. I attended with my father in law, then in his late 80’sand one of my sons. I learned much.
Be sure to get Ken Green as your instructor. He’s an amazing golfer and patient teacher. I don’t think there is any shot he can’t make.
The setting is magnificent and absolutely first class in every way.
I highly recommend the experience.
