Best Western Carlisle

On our way to Morgantown from NJ and we wanted a decent hotel, convenient to the highway, and about halfway between both locations. Carlisle was perfect. The Best Western had a 3 star rating on Kayak, others were 2 stars. Kayak had a rate of $ 69 including all taxes and fees so we booked. Very happy we did. The room was on the first floor, very large, has a tv, microwave, fridge, plenty of outlets, and 2 queen sized beds. Beds were very comfortable. We didn’t hear other guests or hallway noise that would disturb our sleep while here. Free breakfast and WiFi make this a great spot to remember in the future.

Worst visit to a hotel I think I have ever had. I’ll start from the top. The night receptionist wasn’t at the desk after I waited for over 20 minutes. I kept calling the hotel numerous times until he picked up, in which I told him that it was me on the line as he was walking down the hall. He promptly hung up, looked at me, and walked into a different room. Five minutes later he came out without an explanation or apology and asked me if I had a reservation. I had booked a discounted rate on
in which he «had no record.» Rather than find a solution he told me to call
. Keep in mind this was midnight. Needless to say I was waiting for someone to pick up from
for over 10 minutes. After asking what we can do to match that price for a 4^th time he finally said he could do 99.99. I asked about AAA which brought it down to the
price of 89.99. This man was truly incompetent! Come to find out the next morning he had to go to the website himself to get the confirmation number. Please either train this man or fire him.
Lastly, the continental breakfast was terrible. They were out of almost everything. To the point I had to eat my over cooked eggs with a spoon due to a lack of silverware.
The pros — it was clean.
The cons — the customer service and continental breakfast might be enough to never have me stay at a Best Western again.

Below the usual standards for Best Western– the phone and refrigerator both didn’t work. Manager couldn’t fix refrigerator or provide alternate room, and was largely indifferent.
Hallways have nauseating scent from air freshener plug-​ins.
Wifi worked after being reset by front desk.

I would have given zero stars, but that is not an option. From the outside it looks ok, however the room we were using had food and ants all over it, there was mouse poop in the drawers and trash, to include lady’s panty hose. The door to the parking lot was broken and unsecured and there were some devious looking people hanging around. Our stay lasted exactly 45 minutes. The manager did not charge me for the room, luckily. There are safer and cleaner options away from this business. I would recommend staying elsewhere.

Shampoo & conditioner on request only? Ants in our room (despite being sprayed twice). Rekeyed our room keys 3x in one day. Not impressed.

Pretty basic.

Clean and tidy with free internet– just the way I like it. I appreciated the mini-​fridge and the fact that they let me check out an hour late. Still, it’s a little pricey to be skipping on the little things like separate shampoo and conditioner. Overall, very nice people and I got a good night’s sleep.
