This review is for the girl taking my order over the phone. The pizza is good but the service can be terrible at times. I called an order in over the phone and asked if I could get the«holiday host». I saw it was a special they have on the website. When I asked for it the girl said«what? What’s that?» And I said«it’s a special you guys have on your website.» I heard her ask a coworker and then she says to me «that’s an online deal only.» Haha! Ok, so I guess I have to hang up the phone and get online and place my order on the website to get the deal!” Crazy! What difference does it make if I order it over the phone or online?! Whatever, rather that argue with this teenage girl with attitude I just ordered two large pizzas. For the rest of the order I got nothing but«ok…ok…ok…» So much attitude from this girl! I just don’t get how employees don’t understand how important communication and people skills are when dealing with customers! That kind of stuff definitely can turn me away from an establishment

I’m really upset that i can’t give a better review. I grew up in the town where village host was born and always loved the food. Here it goes. I called and ordered a pizza for delivery. I patiently waited for well over an hour(close to 2). When i called to ask where it was they told me that they had delivered the pizza. Then they put the driver on the phone who said«oh yeah i couldn’t find #### Gross rd so i went to ### gross road and they accepted the pizza and SIGNED the credit card recept» my response was«read me my address» ### G O S S Ave… not gross and not even the same city… then they wanted me to pay for a pizza that was already billed to my credit card… food is great. But bong hits at work need to stop

All I wanted was a quick lunch. Whoever heard of a strip mall pizzeria not selling slices? This place doesn’t and the service is kinda unfriendly. I won’t return.

We went to have the salad bar and pizza for dinner. When we walked in at 5pm to an empty dining room with 4 guys standing around talking. After ordering we walked over to the salad bar and there were a few leaves of lettuce at the bottom of the tray. I asked if they could restock the salad and the guy acted like he was doing me a favor. Pasta salad was mushy. I threw it away and just ate lettuce with dressing. Pizza was okay. The chair next to me had food on it and should have been cleaned off. The floor was filthy. Napkins hadn’t been restocked. Generally the place was a dirty and the employees were lazy. Barely passable food and a dirty restaurant. Not going back there again.

We are just passing thru and everything at the beach was packed. We just wanted food but found this to be a very pleasant experience. We order the 3 P pepperoni, pesto, and pineapple large. That with 2 salads and a pitcher of Coors lite came to $ 42. The pizza filled 3 adults with us picking the toppings off the last 2 slices. Yes the crust is crisp but we liked it. The service was fast and the place is clean. We sat outside and watched traffic go by but it did seem noisy and busy inside. I would recommend for casual dining.

Unfortunately, pizza that is not very good. Hard, chewy crust — not the good chewy, the hard to eat chewy — and too much damned oregano in the sauce. The rest of the ingredients seem fine, but as my wife said, I would rather spend more money per slice and have something edible than eat that pizza again. It’s disappointing, too, as it’s the closest pizza place to our home.

Ordered pizza online at 7:07 pm on a Saturday. Ready time is 20 mins. I come to the store at 7:25 to pick up and the guy working behind the counter tells me they just put the pizza in the oven and it will be another 10 – 15 mins. There are only 2 tables seated and 4 guys working behind the counter. So they aren’t crowded or overwhelmed by orders. I know it seems like I’m nit-picking, but why have an online system that tells you 20 mins when it actually takes 40 mins to complete your order. Just tell me the real time and I’ll show up or hire better staff that cares to get the order out on time.

If I could give them no stars I would. Who ever is making the pizzas on Friday night(last night) needs some more training or something. It was TERRRRIBLE! We are huge fans of the one in seascape and this one has been a disappointment 3 times now. We ate 2 slices and threw it away. The pizza looked like it had been sitting for a couple days(or someone forgot to pick it up so we got it!) and there was paper stuck to the pizza to top it off. Never coming back to this location ever again.

They get a 5 for their pizza and a 1 on service and friendliness. Does it make sense to take down your salad bar at 8:30 when you close at 10:00??? 4 people working and obviously their interest is about delivery. I live on the Westside and twice I’ve been here and no salad bar. I guess I’ll have to find another crunchy crust place since Aptos Pizza closed. I miss that pizza a lot. Doesn’t make sense to me. To make things worse my to go order was wrong. That’s what happens when your to involved with counting out money. Take care Village Host; I really love your pizza and I used to get when I lived in Burlingame. I’m over it, take care cause I do think you do.

Lame… We live in a time of mobile communications. We use Unilocal to check out businesses, go online to visit their website and check their menu. On their website they promote and encourage people to visit their business with a coupon. That’s great I bookmark the coupon on my phone a make a visit. I order a medium combo, salad, a few drinks and present the coupon. They tell me I need to print it out on paper?! WTF? We live in a paperless environmental sensitive society today. They don’t want us to use paper at the grocery store and this place wants as piece of paper they are going to throw away once I hand it to them? LAME Pizza was good but not great. Crust was crispy and hard to chew. Topping seems fresh.

I’ve only has the pizza sandwich here but it keeps me coming back. They have a decent salad bar too. Fresh generous portions and great prices. Maybe one day I’ll branch out and order something else! But for now, pizza sandwiches all the way

My last review was criticism. However, I have since learned they have TWO sizes for beverages. One time or refillable. Had they explained that before, it would have changed my entire review. The staff has since clarified. Now I can eat at Village Host every week after work :) Pizza and salad bar and staff are very worth the hassle turning left to Soquel after eating :)

Great local spot for really, really good pizza. Ingredients are on-point and they’re patient with custom pie orders(half this half that etc.). Staff is always very nice and professional. Once got a pizza and it had un-ordered olives on it — no big deal to pick off, right? Well they gave us a whole other pizza gratis.(!?!) GREAT service. I keep wanting to try the burger or sandwiches(that look awesome) but every time i smell that pizza it gets me.

I have to say that I am impressed with the service and the food. I was that guy — calling at 8:53pm on a Thursday night, looking to see if Village Host could deliver a pizza to me. They were courteous on the phone and once I told them I was just a couple miles away, they agreed to make a delivery to my house. I ordered a hot sandwich and a pizza for delivery. They arrived within 30 minutes and the food was really, really good. I think I found my new favorite pizza place.

Would like to put it at about 2 ½ stars. Friendly staff. Maybe just not my crowd. Loud TV’s, and small dining room. I understand they were busy on a Friday night. They do delivery, and inside service. It took about 35 minutes to get our pizza to the table. Years ago at the Village Host in Belmont, CA I would have a really good pizza, and a pleasant time inside a family style restaurant. I found this location, and I was anticipating the same experience that I had had back then. I don’t know if they changed their recipe, or what. I was disappointed in the product, and it was definitely not worth the money. Way overpriced, and more of a sports bar than a pizza place. There are much better pizza restaurants in the area. At least now I know, but what a bummer.

Best Pizza around. Got tired of heading to Seascape for great pizza. Crust kicks ass and generous amount of toppings. Besides great pizza, nice staff and good service. Complete package.

Really good! Got the combination pizza. Came piled with toppings, which is great but can be difficult to eat. But this place gets the crust a little bit crisper to compensate, amazing. Means you get all the toppings and goodness without it sliding off like other limp pizza slices… I will totally come back to try the sandwiches :)

Just had a pizza delivered that I ordered online. The ordering service worked well, but the pizza was really not good. I ordered a pepperoni, sausage, sundried tomato, and onion pizza with marinara sauce. The crust was too thick and doughy. The were only tiny specs of sundried tomato and onion. Very little sausage and too many kalamata olives all clumped in one area. The pepperoni was ok. I was so excited to have this delivered and was so disappointed by it’s quality. I won’t be ordering from Village Host again.

Six of us stopped in for a quick bite to eat. The place was very clean and the guys behind the counter were super friendly. We ordered one small pizza, one large pizza, a glass of wine, a pitcher of beer, and three waters(approx $ 60). We pulled up a chair and sat down to watch the SF Giants game on their TVs. The pizza came out fairly quick and were DELICIOUS! Extra points for the crust! It was nice and crispy! I highly recommend this place to grab a pizza and beer!
