Drove by this morning and saw that this location is CLOSED. A new restaurant has already started moving in. Just ate here last week. Very bummed out. Hope the location on Soquel remains open so I can get my carnitas burrito fix.

The food was bland. The tables were sticky and they used plastic forks that broke during the meal.

Take it from a Hispanic who knows Mexican food. This place was excellent. A little small inside but the food made up for it. The Beans were nice and soft and very tasty along with the rice. The shrimp tacos were very… very fresh and tasty. Great cook who knows how to cook authentic Mexican food. Looks to be family oriented… keep up the great work!

The vegetarian burrito was a 4*, the salsa bar was not the greatest though. Place uses plastic forks, not a big fan, and seemed alittle dirty, the welcome mat is basically worn away to the outer edges(wish I had taken a picture).

Authentic Mexican food ! Menu has a good variety. Salsas are all very good. I had the fish tacos they were very fresh. My boyfriend had a burrito and ate the whole thing !

Excellent food. Spicy authentic taste that I’m looking for in my Mexican food. They don’t make their own tortillas, but that’s okay with me. They even have a table outside!

HORRIBLE. I wish I could give it ZEROSTARS. They microwaved our food right in front of our faces. I got the super quesadilla and he put it in the microwave to melt the cheese. It never even touched a flat top. There was no one even in there and they did this so I can’t even imagine if they were busy. Absolutely horrible.

Came in and got a burrito. Very Tasty and was ready immediately after I got my drink and table. Clean place and nice people working also very affordable. if your craving some cheap & good Mexican food go here and support people who actually care about the restaurant & who really enjoy their job. What really impressed me was the staff. While I was eating a woman came in asking for chile verde. When the guy at the counter gave it to her she got all hussy and started a tantrum about how no I don’t want green sauce I want red. Uhmm have you never eaten Mexican food before? Verde is the Spanish word for green! The poor guy at the counter calmly explained that she did ask for verde and that that meant green sauce. Anyone that can keep their cool that well and deal with that sort of ignorance has earned my respect.

We wanted a simple lunch, with fish tacos requested by my boyfriend. This is a hole in the wall joint — cute from the outside and simple-get-down-to-business-and-eat inside. No frills. Each had a fish and shrimp taco, side of rice n beans and guac. All tasty. The tortillas were fresh corn(my fav!!) and the food was made when we ordered it. $ 20 for that and two sodas. Not too bad. Perfect for our on the road lunch(shrimp taco was better of the two btw)

This is my 2nd favorite taqueria in all of Santa Cruz. They wrap a nice tight burrito, have great chips and salsa, and very friendly folks behind the counter. Downsides are limited seating and practically non-existent parking.

Ive had Mexican food from all over the west coast and even overseas. This is by far the best I have ever tasted! Real quiet on a Friday night. Dark. Clean. Prices for being here in Capitols are very VERY reasonable(family of 3 with extras was 32.00 and change). Had the BBQ pork super burrito, and after inhaling it, would have easily paid 32.00 just for my burrito. If you live here or passing through, give this place a try! Your waistband will forgive you and your wallet can use the vacation.

Carne Asada burrito, quesadilla, chicken enchiladas, and the topper — super nachos w carnitas — all were fantastic. Fresh tasting, delicious, generous portions, good salsa and great carnitas. Nachos were made with nice, thick homemade chips that held up very well to the toppings. Service could not have been more courteous and helpful. This place is a keeper.

Sorry no pictures, I was hungry. Parking is hard to find, you can park across the street in residential but keep on eye on your car so it doesn’t get towed. Very small mom and pop place. Foods tastes like your eating at a friends house. It’s okay but not bad. Locals come here. Close to the beach.

The food is really good, and I love that they have the salsa and chips out. It could have been a little cleaner, but otherwise I thought it was great.

Truly one of the best shrimp burrito ever. This is the second time I’ve been here in making my trip to Santa Cruz. I usually get Al pastor burrito to kind of guage how the food is but this place is close to the beach so I wanted a shrimp burrito(only $ 7! Another plus). The sauce and the texture is so good, tangy zesty. The salsa bar has fresh salsa, sauces and jalapeños and lots of it. Don’t let the shabby exterior fool you. This place serves up some great Mexican food at great prices.

this place has great fresh tasting mexican food that doesn’t make you feel regretful after eating it, and while their salsa bar isn’t huge all the salsas they do have are delicious(I love the chunky salsa fresca) the restaurant is cozy and clean with a very friendly staff. will definitely come back!

I moved to the area a couple months ago and have been meaning to check out this little taqueria. I walked down there and got two carnita tacos + cheese and a side of rice. A whole plate of food for less than $ 5 not to mention their chips and salsa bar. Juan also hooked me up with the caliente salsa, which they keep behind the counter. I was impressed with the juicy carnita meat, and the place has good vibes. Super affordable, which is very important. I Highly recommend if you like authentic style mexican food.

I was impressed with how fresh the ingredients of my vegetarian nachos were. The pinto beans and guacamole were particularly tasty. The hot salsa added some nice, fresh flavor. There was too much sour cream for my taste, but overall I recommend this place if you are looking for a solid, fresh, inexpensive Mexican meal.

Yum yum yum! So disappointed that I didn’t go here more when I lived in Seabright! I had a chorizo burrito. HUGE, delicious, spicy, amazing. Nice selection of salsa for the complimentary chips. I’ll definitely be back.
