Pepi’s Sports Bar and Grill

Pepi and Robert provided excellent service and fostered a positive welcoming, hometown bar type of feeling that we were looking for. Also, wide variety of alcohol, and drinks are stiff.

This place is awesome to watch sporting events or just to swing in for some drinks and food. It’s very big with a lot of tables a big bar and pool tables. The staff is always super friendly. I’ve been here twice now and had the same bartender and she’s a sweetheart! Always in a bubbly good mood and really does bust her ass making sure all the customers are taken care of.
Yesterday for the Super Bowl it was pretty crowded but the service was still quick. The food is better than normal sports bars they’ve got pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, chicken wings and salads and a good list of appetizers. I will definitely be coming back to this sports bar.

New to the Dana Point area, just moved here after nine years on Kauai Island, and Seal Beach prior to that. Needed to find a fun place to watch the NFC /​AFC play off between Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots.
On Saturday before the game, I drove to Pepi’s sports bar to check it out. Walked in and was instantly greeted and served by Paulette. I also noticed she greeted the newly arriving customers by their first names. They have about 17 TV’s, all placed very strategically for viewing sports events. I saw they had a full bar selection, Pepis was clean, and Paulette brought a meal menu and the happy hour menu.
She advised me to get there about 30 minutes early, but they generally had plenty of tables if the bar itself was full.
Game Day: We arrived 20 minutes Early, and sure enough there was two seats left open at the bar. Paulette greeted me by name and introduced herself to Erica. Our drinks came immediately and she took our food order. We talked story with the nice people sitting next to us. I looked around at the table seating, and noted a couple of really good locations for two people right in front of their individual TV’s, since we were planning to come back for Superbowl.
Our seats at the bar, this day, were perfect, the drinks were well poured, the food was excellent, and Paulette would notice that my drink was empty before I did, and she was right there to ask if I wished another. You betcha, Erica is the designated driver today, and only had one gin and tonic. My scotch and waters were built like a drink should be, ($ 5.50), the sound was surround sound so we could hear the announcers call the game.
Many of the customers were wearing their favorite team jerseys or shirts. There was lots of cheering which is how it should be for an NFL game. Oh, before the game began, Pepi came in, looked at us, walked over and introduced herself. What a bundle of positive energy, happy smiles and aloha she is. We visited for a bit and she also greeted the other customers as well.
Superbowl Sunday we will again be at Pepi’s, and plan to support our teams by wearing our NFL jerseys, and have a grand time watching the Broncos and the Panthers in Superbowl 50.
I really do not know who will win the superbowl game, but I do know the party light is going to glowing at Pepi’s, Actually, Pepi’s reminds us of Robs Good Time sports bar in Lihue, Kauai. Good food, good drinks, reasonable prices, great staff, and major fun.

This place has made great improvements. It’s way better than the Surfing Cowboy and there kitchen is open past 10 even on «school nights» that is hard to find in Dana Point. Went there last night and really enjoyed the chicken wings. Pepi the owner actually served my
Girlfriends and I it’s nice to see a place where the owner is hands on.
It’s definitely worth checking out! I wish Pepi and her place all the success in the world.

Big improvement over the business that was previously at this location, Surfin Cowboy. We stopped in for breakfast today not really expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. The place has a cool sports bar vibe. They have seventeen TVs that I counted. There may be more. The service was so much better than their predecessor. The food was decent. I ordered steak and eggs medium well. The steak was super red and I didn’t finish it or send it back, that’s not really my style. Plus I was almost half way through before the redness appeared. If it wasn’t for the steak issue, I would give this place four stars. Anywho, other than that we had a great experience. It looks like they show UFC there so we will definitely return for that. I’ll give the food another chance.

Based off of the reasonable first experience we had weeks back we returned without hesitation, only to find that our second visit worse than first.
Service was fine, and the men’s restroom was cleaner than it was on our first visit.
We tried their Bloody Mary, which was brown and had a bad flavor to it, and we also tried their Fried Calamari Rings, which were fine but not great (likely frozen).
We requested a double order of their Buffalo Wings, which we had enjoyed on our first visit, but when the wings arrived they were cold on the inside. To their credit, our server was quick to get us a new order which were cooked properly, or reheated properly as the case may be, as sadly we now suspect everything this place serves comes from a freezer.
I do not see us returning again for some time, perhaps ever.

This place is awesome with the owners! Way better now than when it was the surfing cowboy. Food is just a little pricey but it is excellent. Can’t wait to go back for taco wednesday!
Only thing I miss is the lobster machine, hope they bring it back!

Pepi’s Sports Bar is the coolest Sport’s Bar yet! The service is excellent and the food is fresh, tasty and so reasonably priced. Pepi has definitely gone above & beyond to deliver to Capo Beach what it’s been missing, a True Sports Bar with games from air hockey, actual straight_​_​_​_​_​_​pool tables & cues, an electronic juke box & great live bands & the absolute #1 HOT SPOT to watch all your favorite teams charge it!
If you haven’t been, you are seriously missing out!!!

Awesome sports bar and grill. Came at 10am on Monday and it was pretty lively for breakfast. Tammy was sweet and energetic and the other patrons were friendly. Our food was great– drinks were amazing at $ 5! We will be back. It was clean, lively, and fun everything I want in a neighborhood bar.

This place should have ZERO stars. Absolutely terrible. The seating is so tight, it’s hard to even walk around. People are obnoxiously loud while watching games, you can’t even hold a conversation. It took 10 minutes to get WATER, and we waited OVER AN HOUR FOR FOOD THAT NEVER CAME!!! I was there with my husband and three kids, and we eventually just walked out because we never got our food! This place is terrible, I don’t recommend it to anyone! We will never be going there again.

I absolutely love the changes they’ve made to this place. So comfortable and inviting not to mention the food. The cream cheese, jalapeño fried won tons are simply amazing. The owners Robert and Pepi are very personable and one of the chefs Sam was eager to share with us about his passion for cooking. This is the second Sunday in a row that we’ve visited and I see us frequenting here often.

Came here with the boyfriend to watch football at Surfing Cowboy but, oh, it’s something different now?
We’re like oh well, I’m sure it’s still similar. Came in and grabbed a high top by the TVs to watch the Broncos game.
Ordered iced tea and water to start. The iced tea is so dark it looks like a Bloody Mary, weird. Randomly some older gentleman just came in and sat down at our table… Super bizarre. We moved one table over to have our own.
Looking over the menu we noticed it’s much smaller and lacks in creativity. Very very basic. We ordered the hummus and veggies to start. The hummus had no flavor and was crunchy. I didn’t eat much.
We ordered the loaded nachos which were decent but nothing to write home about.
We originally planned to get more food but I was totally over eating the bland boring food after the first two rounds that we stopped while we were ahead and went home to watch the rest of the game.
I didn’t mention any of these complaints (except the iced tea– I was told it always looks like that). There’s not much anyone can do about bland boring food :) When I come back, I will eat first and just have drinks here to watch football… If I come back.
Our service was good, our server was Michelle and she was sweet and good at her job, but I miss Surfing Cowboy

Pepi’s has the coldest beer in town! This is my new favorite bar and the very best place to watch the game. Try Pepi’s out and you will not be disappointed.

This is our new favorite Sunday funday spot! TVs everywhere and the staff is very accommodating when it comes to putting games on the perfect TV for their customers. Everyone is so friendly! They have tons of specials on food and drinks. The owner, Pepi herself, comes around and checks on each of the tables. She is fantastic!

Pepis Sports Bar is a great addition to Capo Beach. Pepi the owner is always accomadating and so personable. She’s always making sure her guests are satisfied. An owner thats all hands on from behind the bar to in the kitchen hard to find. The staff very attentive and personable not to mention good looking ;) Give Pepis a try you wont be disappointed. Definatly a cheers atmosphere. See you all there!

I have been coming to this location for many years. It had changed ownership many times. I am very happy to see the new place for what it is! My favorite part is that they have pool tables again. Pepi’s has just opened and I believe that it is just what south Orange County needs. I came in to try the place out. I ordered food and drinks from the bar. The beer is cheap and the food is great!!! I love the atmosphere as well. It is not too uptight, as most places can be around here. The staff is super friendly and welcoming! I will definitely be returning. You won’t be disappointed with the change!

We stopped by very early Sunday morning. Had a few cocktails, played a little pinball and went with the breakfast burritos. Lots of fun, got to meet some of the new staff. Looks like Capo has a new gem. Very much looking forward to some of the upcoming events the new owner Pepi was bragging about. Always nice to write something positive. SORRY WE MISSED REGGAE NIGHT.

If you want to walk thru a cloud of nasty cigarette smoke to get inside to a sea of testosterone and sports– this is your place! (Do we still smoke outside the front door of business establishments? And leave our butts all over the side walk and in the ghetto ash tray). This is a sports bar true and true!
Prior staff from Surfin cowboy is 5 star!!! Happy, great, fun and pleasant.
