Donut World is old and grungy, the donuts are smallish, and just mediocre. The décor looks like something from the 1970’s. You have to force your way thru a guantlet of illegal aliens and beach bums just to get in. On the upside, the coffee is surprisingly good excellent. I walked in one Tuesday morning, and was surprised to get such good coffee, served by a very cute and clearly out of place Chinese girl.

This place is a joke, dirty, employees are rude, prices high… if you can get past the homeless people camped in front, good luck.

Crazy expensive, and they’ve downsized on portions. And they charge .45 cents to use your bank card. This used to be a descent stop for breakfast, but for the money– you could do way better. Keep driving.

Literally the BEST breakfast burrito ever. We are breakfast burrito people who LOVE the A’s breakfast burrito so much that I was reluctant to try this one when my wife surprisingly ordered one,(with everything in it). It has refried beans, salsa, eggs, hash browns, cheese, and a sensation of yummy throughout. Can’t miss. Oh, and the donuts are a delicious appetizer that always taste good. Try the cinnamon roll crumb covered — incredible.

There are men lined up in front, so walking by them is creepy to start with. Once past the men that have set up beach chairs to play some type of game on the sidewalk you have entered donut world! Needs some deep cleaning!

Yesterday was National Donut Day! If only we had a clean, eatabe donut shop! I have lived here since 1972… We just got a Donut Star in Monarch Beach but poor Capo Beach still has this filthy donut shop. Come on owners it is time for progress!!!

This is such a great location when you are on your way to the beach but not worth the stop… not clean at all. It’s too bad. maybe Dunkin Donuts or Donut Bar could buy it!!!

My favorite stop for breakfast! It’s such a cute family owned little hole in the wall located near Doheny Beach, Costco, Las Gol, and a bunch of other little cute eateries and restaurants! I stop by for a couple of boxes of donuts a week and bring them to work and they LOVE them! They’re super close to a couple of other little hotels and motels in the area like the Doubletree! PS– GETTHECHEESEBURGERSPECIALWITHTHESIDEOFTHEIRSPECIALFRIES #hellyeah see you guys soon!

I have lost hope for this place. Tried and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt to better things and prove they are worthy. They are in my route to work, so I stop in the morning for a doughnut, muffin, bagel, etc. Hope they read this. HEY, stop serving day old and stale food you cheap bastards! Secondly, they can’t help it, but the place is an attractant for the day labor camp. I’m going elsewhere.

This place is terrible. I was just there and ordered their cheeseburger special. I placed my order before two people behind me got their food. I waited 15 minutes for my food and when I saw the people before me get their food first, I was not happy. This place also charges a .45 cent fee to use a credit card. That is against the law. Avoid this place. It is not that good.

I come here on the weekends with my dad and our dogs. This place is great food at a cheap price. The burger basket and the egg sandwich are a couple of our favs!

Great burgers, we eat here far more than I should admit to. They are quick with phone orders and have a very large menu for quick breakfasts, donuts and burgers. The donuts do sell out very quick… do get there early!

Best breakfast specials in the whole area! Awesome burgers of course! Great bites, great price, you can’t go wrong. It’s busy for a reason. They close at 4 though, so make sure to come before that if you want to eat here.

Love their pastrami combo, fries are served hot and they are tasty, the pastrami sandwich is on the small side but for $ 5 and change you can’t complain. The pastrami tastes good! Been coming here since 2003, ownership changed once in that time but the food remains the same, check out the photos of Dana Point before the Harbor was built

I had a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich, which was pretty damn good. It gave me a gnarly tummy ache though, cause there’s butter AND tons of mayo on both slices of the toasted bread. That’s overkill for me and I was suddenly painfully full a couple bites into the second half. It was good n greasy, but next time I’m gonna ask for less butter and no mayo

At first I was shocked that there are only two other reviews for this place, cause it is usually pretty crowded in the morning hours with people getting great breakfast items — like egg sandwiches, burritos, and huevos rancheros(not to mention donuts). But then I thought about the crowd, which is made up of day laborers, contractors, and blue collar-types — and I realized they are unlikely to be Unilocalers. Whenever I am staying in San Clemente or driving thru in the morning hours, I make it a point to grab a breakfast burrito at Donut World. Monster-sized and filled with eggs, pinto beans, hash browns, pico de gallo, cheese, and choice of meat(bacon, sausage or chorizo). A hole-in-the-wall that is worth a try.

No one has reviewed this place? «WHAAAHOPPENED?»(see A Mighty Wind) Burgers here, yes, burgers — are so good and unhealthy, they give A’s down the street some healthy competition. If you didn’t know they had burgers, consider this when jonesing for some cow next time you’re driving down the 5 thinking«I gotta eat in San Clem before I have 20 miles of ‘NOSERVICES’!» Hole in the wall, nothing to get dressed up for, just good burgers. Worried you’ll run into someone you know here? Don’t be. It’s not an «omg! this is like, totally such a small world» kind of place.
