This looks to be an old Howard Johnson style set up. The food was Meh. A lower grade diner style place. Pancakes were on par with the frozen kind(although they claim to make really good ones). We had apple style ones and it was canned apple compote that was way too sweet. The sausage was alright. Toast was too burnt. Eggs were runny when we asked for well done. Coffee was decent though. Super busy even for a winter Saturday. Wouldn’t go back unless we were desperate.

Truly awful rubbery(Really!?) pancakes and very overpriced. Huge and on the main strip along the beach, tourist trap is the phrase that comes to mind. Try the diner down the avenue or, better, Bella Vida Café near the start of the Point.

Sadly this is a pancake house that turns out terrible pancakes. Tough and rubbery, the menu says«tender buttermilk pancakes» but I think they meant«rubber.» Granted I am really picky about my pancakes, but these were pretty awful. I’ve had better from a box mix. From taste to texture, these were so bad that my date and I both sent them back. The replacements(waffles and French toast) were ok but nothing so great that it was worth the $ 30 tab.

Food was very good, I had the Eggs Benedict eggs were cooked well and we still perfectly runny. My wife ordered pancakes/eggs/bacon, the bacon was nice and crispy just like she likes. From walking in to getting our food was probably around 10 – 15 min so very quick service. Our waitress Carmen was very friendly. Would def go back next time we are visitor Cape May. Price was pretty good as well ~$ 10 a person.

We stopped here for breakfast based on a recommendation and when we arrived(9:30AM~) the place was really busy. Luckily, we were seated right away. There are a lot of breakfast options including many pancake varieties. I got the cape may special with scrapple. The meal was hot and fresh. The homefries were well cooked and flavorful. The scrapple had a good crust from frying it and made eating it enjoyable. The coffee was okay but it was refilled at a frequent rate. The s.o. got pecan pancakes. They were big with 3 to a plate. The batter texture was good and the pancakes tasted great. Nothing went wrong with this trip and if we lived closer, we would certainly return.

Great pancakes, eggs, bacon, everything! These days it seems difficult to find a place that will give you a good portion of both pancakes and eggs and bacon. At this place, you get a perfect portion of all… not too much either! I was delighted to see pancakes with eggs and bacon on the menu and even moreso when I tasted how great the food was.

My family and I love it here. Great food, delicious pancakes and great home fries. Friendly and quick service, especially for the amount of people that show up to this place. We initially had to wait about 25 minutes, for the outside seating, but it was worth it.

Are they the best pancakes I’ve ever had? No. Are they the worst pancakes I’ve ever had? No. Are the aprons the poor waitresses have to wear unflattering? Yes. Did my blueberry pancakes have a faint taste of peppers and onions? Yes.(Use different griddles please!) This is an iconic pancake house on the beach in Cape May, but I think it needs an update in a couple of ways. My hubs had the potato pancakes and they were quite interesting. Everything else we got was kind of blah. Love the big hot blob of butter on everything though! And the service was pretty good. They remembered that I asked for a side of whipped cream with my cakes. Coffee was more than drinkable. I would be interested to see how some of the other pancake houses compare! **I am updating this review two days later for pretty much the sole reason that this is the ONLY food establishment I found on Beach Ave that accepts credit cards. I was sweaty and starving, with only my Amazon credit card in my pocket, and was turned away by place after place. And when a girl needs brunch, SHENEEDSIT. So Bill’s, thank you for opening your arms and accepting my card. For this reason, you have moved up a notch. I also had a waitress who looked cute in the apron this time. Things are looking up.

I love this place. Please note that there are two separate hostess stands depending if you want to dine indoors or outdoors. On a beautiful summer day with a perfect breeze there was a half hour wait inside and no wait outside — people must clearly have not realized that there were two hostess stands. Everything that I have had here over the years is delightful but my go to is the potato pancakes — — they are just so so good that it hardly makes sense to order anything else. Efficient service and quality food! Just love it.

I am never let down when I have breakfast here! The hostess was prompt and sat us in the sea of families. The waitress was quick and courteous. I will always come here for breakfast when I’m in town. I would have given it 5 stars but there is always room for improvement! The cheese steak sandwich looked amazing but I was there for breakfast.

This place was wonderful! So close to the beach so you can see the ocean while you eat. My family and I arrived and we had to be put on the waiting list, which was not long at all. Once we got in and sat down we order drinks then food. It seemed like we just ordered a second ago then our food was out. They were incredibly fast, and the food was so good! I left nothing on my plate!!! If you can, go to this place!!!

Parents decided they wouldn’t be joining us after reviewing the menu and prices, but my boyfriend and I love breakfast out. I hate to say it, but wish we would’ve listened to my parents. We ate outside and our waitress was very nice, as is the boardwalk view. I got the blueberry stack and my boyfriend had buckwheat. The basic review is that it was just pancakes, certainly nothing memorable or special. For $ 10 a stack, hardly worth it when you could get the same meal for half that cost at iHop. Plus, the pancakes don’t come with any sides so breakfast meat is another cost. My boyfriend got sausage and in the midst of eating, a seagull swooped in and took an entire sausage from his plate. It certainly livened up breakfast and the hostess came over right away asking if it took anything. We told her a whole sausage and she wrote something down on a clipboard, I’m assuming this happens more often than they’d care for it to and they have to track their losses. So we thought she’d get us another sausage but she didn’t. When you pay $ 4 for two links and one gets taken, that’s the least they could do. Our waitress brought our bill and still no sausage. The hostess must’ve told her because we were done with our food but not leaving so she finally came over and asked if we wanted a replacement sausage, to which we said yes. She said she’d get one and wouldn’t charge us. I think had she not already written out our check, they would’ve charged us for more sausage which is a real shame. Overall, the food was average for a place that boasts about their oancakss and you can tell they’re just used to large crowds and cranking out the food quick. Nothing special or memorable, not worth it if you ask me. But it’s advertised far and wide in town so I’m sure it’ll stay busy.

I came here for my birthday breakfast with a bunch of my girlfriends and had the best time. I highly recommend getting their pancakes or doing a sweet/savory split with a friend as their pancakes are ridiculously good. I got an egg white veggie omelette which was decent but nothing spectacular. Luckily it was my birthday so my friends were extra kind about sharing their pancakes with me! The service was fast(although it was November) and the place was bright and clean. You can’t beat the view from their front booths which we were lucky enough to snag. I’ll be back in the Spring for some blueberry pancakes!

A solid spot for a diner-like breakfast. This place can get very busy– so watch out if you go at peak times. A few TIPS for eating here— — No frills spot. your breakfast menu is also your place setting(ie piece of paper place mat) — There are a LOT of food options. Basically anything you want for breakfast is on the menu — Keep it basic. Don’t come here for something that isn’t your basic eggs, bacon, pancakes. They do well in what’s simple — There are a LOT of tables in this place. Inside and outside seating options — It’s CASHONLY. And you pay up front. You can leave tip up front or at table — Restrooms are near the cash register — They won’t walk around refilling your coffee. so if you want more — ask for it — This place is really cheap

Good location for breakfast. We came as a large group and ordered a huge assortment of entrees; panckaes, breakfast burritos, eggs prepared several ways and plenty of sides. The portions were large, the food was good and the prices were quite reasonable. We got there on a day when it was a bit more quiet so the lines were non-existent and we could pick any table we wanted. Great for groups and hungry crowds.

I visited Uncle Bill’s for the first time this past weekend and had a great meal. I requested food from their gluten-free menu(see picture). I ordered pecan gluten-free pancakes with a side of turkey sausage and home fries. The food was yummy and came out quickly. Excellent service my waitress as well. We ended up leaving a 25% tip. From other reviews, people seem to expect gourmet food from an All American Diner? If you want gourmet, then maybe you should splurge for breakfast at Nearby Congress Hall with all the wealthy folk?

Another work trip another breakfast I have to get on my company expense. What a hard life I live. This place was my favorite throughout this trip. The girls(all in white jersey dresses) working there were super nice, even at 7am in the morning and they could deal with the huge crowds we brought in. At one point it was a mass invasion of 13 people… at 7.30am!!! The menu is huge. I never thought there could be so many thing to do with pancake batter, but then they also had eggs and egg related products plus anything else you can think of for breakfast. We nearly ate our way through the menu while being in Cape May for a week. I’m sure we could have gone to another pancake house, but it was never offered and I think we actually never thought of it. Why change a good thing, if you don’t have to?

Welcome to 1972. Food is fuel, it should be served fast by young white girls wearing white dresses and aprons. Who had a credit card back then? Who could pronounce«sustainable or «gluten»? Granola was for hippies. Sugar was *good*. Butter? Even better! So if you like those ground rules and need a beach view while dining, breakfast at Uncle Bill’s pancake house is great. Our friendly waitress brought our food so quickly I thought we had received another table’s order by mistake. Two eggs perfectly over easy, cubes of potato, crispy bacon and rye toast with as much butter as bread. The blueberry pancake plate had(what else!) frozen fruit and a ton of powdered sugar on top. Vegetarian rating: how do you feel about eggs? 3 stars if you like ‘em, 1 otherwise. Many easy choices at breakfast like pancakes, french toast, omelets and you can always leave off the animal protein from the egg-toast-hashbrown combos. Lunch? Egg salad, bean soup, a grilled cheese sammich, fries. But don’t worry, they updated the prices for 2014 :-) our plates were about $ 9 each plus drinks plus tax plus tip. At least parking is free lol. No waiting on a shoulder-season Saturday morning.
