Before leaving Cape May we grabbed some fudge and taffy from here. The staff was friendly and the fudge was delicious. Shared the remainder with my coworkers and they also loved it.

Hands down the best fudge on the east coast, I’ve tasted a lot of fudge in my travels and there is nothing that can compare to your delicious recipe. I personally love the vanilla nut but love them all. If your looking for some real fudge to try or to buy for a gift Fudge Kitchen is the answer. They ship everywhere too.

Oh, geez. I almost started this review by talking about how I always forget those little blue coupons. But then I remembered that I reviewed Cape May’s other FK location last fall, so I looked up that posting and sure enough, I rambled about the coupon back then soooo I guess I should talk about something other than the coupon. Let’s see. I really like FK’s fudge. Especially the plain chocolate bars. And the cookies & cream. If we go to the shore, I’m probably going to suggest a trip to FK, or animatedly announce that we *can’t* leave Cape May without stopping by the shop. And if we do head home without getting the fudge, it will be a sad day. That’s really all I have to say. Go to Fudge Kitchen. Don’t forget your coupon.

No better or worse than other NJ fudge/candy places. But, while waiting in line on a busy and crowded evening, literally every customer heard«it’s a little bit over, is that OK? When I told the counter person that I only wanted a pound, she was able to remove a few chocolate covered pretzels to make it only a couple ounces over.-not $ 3.00 over! What a scam!

I have been coming to the Fudge Kitchen for as long as I remember and applaud the Bogle family on not messing with a good thing. They are consistent with their offerings and their specials and a trip to Cape May is not the same without getting a free sample of fudge. Their special is buy two lbs of fudge and get a free box of salt water taffy. Most of the employees are«summer workers» from different countries but they are all trained to be incredibly polite and respectful. This is a wonderful family business that has become one of Cape May’s iconic landmarks.

Really great fudge and a really healthy assortment of treats. From a taste perspective they have some good fudge. Here is why I deduct 3 stars… they sell their fudge by weight AND they knowingly cut a larger piece of fudge then requested. If you listen closely, You will hear them say, «it’s a little over is that ok?» to each customer. It may be a small amount over, but I imagine these people should be pretty good at eyeballing weight… especially if they have been there for a while. In my opinion — that’s dishonest… it’s a shame because their product is good and by virtue of a good product it should sell itself.

I want to work at The Fudge Kitchen where you can nibble from anything in the store while on duty! You can use your bare hands and grab and munch and grab some more. You can even lick your sticky fingers. In fact you can serve customers while chewing or make them wait until you have swallowed, wiped your mouth(again, bare hands), and are ready. Either is fine. Throughout the summer and even this Fall we witnessed this in disgust. The managers look the other way. The place is gross. And yes(someone else’s review) the satiated staff is pushy. The good news, when they serve your item they wear a plastic glove. So one star. Oh wait, one of them was just munching out of that same tray with bare hands? Blech!!!

The most delicious fudge & free samples if you missed the other reviews! They aren’t stingy with the samples either so don’t be shy. The shop is usually bustling but even so service is super quick & they generally run specials such as buy 2 pounds of fudge, get free salt water taffy. You can’t go wrong with basic chocolate or vanilla fudge but we also throw in a few more«wild» flavors — this year, we chose peanut butter and sea salt caramel… yum! This fudge is not the least expensive around but its creamy goodness is hard to beat for sure!

This is a isn’t just the best fudge at the Jersey shore, but it’s the best fudge in New Jersey — I’d even venture to say it’s the best fudge on the East coast. Always absolutely fresh & delicious — it never disappoints! Pistachio, maple walnut, vanilla, sea salt caramel vanilla, cookies and cream… Pardon me while I go wipe the drool off my keyboard.

Very generous samples! Took a whole to be helped, a little weird setup and confusion where/how to order. Ordered a lb. of fudge just tried a little piece of the assortment I purchased and am thoroughly impressed with all. Will be returning before the drive home!

Cape May is littered with places to get taffy and fudge, but this one is probably the best of them all. They offer the largest selection of both and allow you to mix/match. I often question my sanity when leaving this place. More often then not, the fudge doesn’t make it home from the trip. Good customer service, well lit and decorated, I would recommend this place above all others to meet their fudge and taffy needs.

Ok, here is the dessert strategy for those on a budget and visiting Cape May: 1. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and coat 2. Wear all 3 and go get a sample of the fudge 3. Take off the sunglasses and hat and coat and go get another 4. Wear only the sunglasses and go back 5. Wear only the hat and go back 6. Get the idea? Good. Now repeat again after dinner. All kidding aside, I love the fudge here and am always very very grateful for the generous samples that they hand out in the front. They also generally have a promotion where you get a box of the salt water taffy free if you buy 2+ pounds, which is very easy to do. I love the chocolate coconut, but the chocolate walnut is also delicious. For those of you who are not chocoholics, the vanilla nut is very good as well — creamy and sweet! My dad loves the pistachio, too, and layers it with the chocolate nut. They also have Irish Potatoes and a GREAT selection of chocolates, including sugar-free varieties. My grandpa is actually in love with the SF chocolate coconut clusters and I don’t blame him — they are creamy and fantastic. A MUST-try in Cape May. Just bring a very large shopping tote and be prepared to carry home a very heavy bag full of treats!

I wanted to buy two pieces of the cashew cluster, but they refused saying I had to buy at least ¼ pound. I left with nothing. Too bad, it looked really good.

Samples on samples on samples of fudge. Wear your eating pants. You cannot miss the fudge kitchen when you come down the jersey shore. There fudge is all handmade in the front window and they have at least 20 different flavors. Ranging from plane vanilla to smores and pistachio. When you walk by you can’t help but stop because they always have someone handing out free samples. The people outside only put one sample in your hand but if you want more there is another tray of free samples up on the counter inside. When you order fudge they hand you another tray to grab free samples off. The free samples are vanilla and chocolate nut. Which is great for me because vanilla nut is my favorite. Also they have been running the same sale since the day they opened but truly it’s not a bad deal. «If you buy two pounds of our creamy fudge you will get one pound of homemade salt water taffy for free»(two pounds of fudge is one box“ I give them 5 stars for all of the samples

Holey Molly of yummy goodness! We totally fell for the«special of the day» haha, but that’s okay, we ended up buying 2 pounds of fudge, getting a pack of salt water taffies for free, and also got a few samplers from the window display… While I hate the taffies, not that they aren’t good, it’s not my type of sweet at all, it was hard to stop eating the fudge. We stored ours in the fridge and it was even better cold and harder, you can have it melt in your mouth, oh boy, so so so yummy! We got a bunch of the chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter, ya can’t go wrong flavors. While they are all awesome, my favorite are the plain vanilla one and the salted caramel one. Oh the caramel one is so good, you have a layer of softer caramel as a middle layer and it’s lightly sprinkled with coarse salt, very very good! Next time I will only buy caramel! The staff is kind and if you want to try out flavors that aren’t on the display tray, they cut a little piece for you to try!

This place is dangerously good. Aside from being asked 20 times if you would like to take advantage of their«deal of the day»(it’s the same deal every day–«buy two pounds of fresh, creamy fudge and get a free box of our delicious salt water taffy!»), the fudge is delicious! I do wish that they would add some new flavors, but you can never go wrong with cookies&cream or the chocolate w/walnuts. The pumpkin spice fudge is probably my favorite, but it’s a seasonal item, so make sure to get there around Halloween and Thanksgiving. The rocky road fudge is good too, but as much as I love marshmallows, they just leave less room for the good stuff, the fudge! They have a whole lot of other candies and ice cream in the back, but as the name suggests, they’re all about the fudge!

So this place is a solid 3 stars for the fudge. YUM. I always get plain chocolate — it’s quality. However, I don’t feel as good about the customer service. It’s so attentive that it gives off a creep vibe. First you have a pleasant man outside offering samples. Then you have 5 other counter people offering you samples and repeating the same«deal» over and over again while you try and decide what you want to purchase — even though they know 3 other people just told you the same thing. They are like robots! It’s a bit much. But I like fudge — so I’d still go back.

This location is in the former location of Roth’s. Roth’s was the perfect candy shop. Oh, so many memories there. Unfortunately, the family gave up the ghost long ago. The Fudge Kitchen moved in afterwards and has been there ever since. It is now a staple on the Washington Street Mall. In the summer, they hand mix the fudge. They provide free samples. Overall, it’s good, but it isn’t Roth’s. Stuff is pricey. Really pricey. Staff is helpful and patient. If you’re in Cape May, you’ll want to stop by here.
