Really liked the patio seating area, great for people watching. Yummy frozen Margarita and nice cold Blue Moon(s) for hubby. We ordered the peel & eat shrimp. They were brown, chewy and didn’t smell right. Sent them back. In the meantime… A staff girl that also stands at the hostess area was moving chairs & tables next to me. She banged the chair into my knee and didnt say a word! I said«you hit my leg» but, I got nothing. The busboy apologized and he had nothing to do with it. Our cute redheaded waitress was very good and apologized for everything. We might come back for drinks but probably wouldn’t chance eating here.

Go anywhere else on the strip. My vegetarian friend ordered the vegetarian burrito and they gave her the wrap instead, which are very different. My friend asked for her to exchange it, and the waitress seemed very annoyed. She never apologized!!! Finally brought her the burrito, placed it on the table and didn’t say a word. When the check came, she didn’t give my friend a discount or anything. All the food was average and nothing special. Do not plan on going back here ever due to the horrible waitress.

Ate here while visiting the area for a day trip in March. Was cold in the bar sitting near the door. Food was ok nothing spectacular, fiancé had the corned beef on rye and I had the artisan burger. Pricing wise food was expensive and drinks were small. Food portions were larger than normal but didn’t come with fries which you figured they would for the price points, instead you get a child size bag of chips. Expect to spend $ 55.00+ for two adult lunches. Overall I would say if your not looking to spend a lot look elsewhere for value otherwise try this place and get roped in by the Irish pub gimmick and expensive prices.

I stopped in for lunch on a lovely March day in the mid-seventies outside… Sat at the bar Eric B was my server /bartender… He was very helpful. Looking at the menu I saw many great sandwiches and entrees… I scaled it down to either the shepherd’s pie or the Irish meatloaf. I asked Eric which she would choose his face lit up and said the meatloaf… He was so right it was outstanding. The sauce was wonderful the smashed potatoes had great flavor hand the vegetables or hot fresh and tasty highly recommended Having a server whose attentive to not only the needs of his customers but others in the surrounding area is a great benefit to the business… I’ll look forward to seeing him again

Went here yesterday with my wife and it wasn’t very good. Few things to take into note. First off, it was a Monday in February so it could’ve been an off day. I’m sure during their peak time of summer they are more on point. Not many things were open as we were walking, this place was so we stopped in. As expected, for this time of year it wasn’t very busy so we sat right away. My wife got an ice tea and I asked for Sam Adams Cold Snap on tap, which they said they didn’t have. No big deal because they did have more then enough of a draft selection. I ended up deciding to just go with a Diet Coke. We also ordered a pretzel bite appetizer to start. Menu was big with lots of choices but seemed veryyy expensive. A French dip WRAP was $ 14.99. I expected it to be a place with bigger portions due to the higher prices. However, it wasnt large portions it was regular portions. We were on a day trip, at a touristy spot, I guess I should’ve expected higher prices. I did love their special menu which was four or five different grass fed burgers. Love seeing grass fed beef on the menu. The waitress took forever to take the lunch order in my opinion. I am impatient but even my wife said it was taking a little long. Especially for a dead Monday in February. Anyway, I ordered a regular grass fed burger with cheddar for $ 14.99. I have been complaining about this places prices but I’ll pay $ 14.99 for grass fed beef, no problem. My wife ordered something similar to the French dip but not with roast beef and it came on ciabatta. I ask if the burger comes with fries and she said no a bag of chips, fries are extra. I got the fries which was an extra $ 3.99. Again, I said wow expensive but my wife said its a basket not a side order so not really. Appetizer comes and it was good. Pretzel bites with cheese and mustard dip. We finish our drinks but the waitress had to be asked to refill them(which had I known it was $ 3.25 for each refill I would’ve filled my cup up with water from the bathroom!). Lunch comes and my wife’s was supposed to come with au jus but it didn’t. It also came on a regular torpedo hoagie roll not the ciabatta bread that the menu said. I asked the waitress for au jus which she brought. My burger came as I expected along with the fries. My burger was ok. I say«okay» not in a disappointed way, it was average. Not good, not great but average, a decent burger. My wife felt the same way about her sandwich. The fries were good though haha. Crispy, thick cut fries that didn’t seem out of a freezer bag. Finish the meal and the waitress cleared the table and brought the check in a timely manner. Total was $ 52 and change without tip. I left a 15% tip so lunch came out to almost $ 60 without alcohol and just a soft pretzel app! All in all maybe it’s good in the summer but it was very mediocre on this day. I’d go back for the same experience if my bill was $ 20 less. Probably won’t be returning to this place when we go back to Cape May in late spring or early summer.

The pastrami sandwich was on marble rye and was delicious. The bangers and mash were very traditional and was a large portion. Service was pretty good. Tater tots were good as was local IPA.

4 of us went here on a winter night for a birthday dinner. We ordered the filet tip sandwich, the shepherds pie and chicken parm along with a pub burger. Let me start off by saying the filet tip sandwich was immediately sent back due to it not having the chiabatta roll on it and the meat was super dry. The shepherds pie was terrible the mashed potatoes were super dry and not fresh and the top was burnt. The chicken parm was okay as you could get the same from a regular Resturant for was less that $ 24.00. I will never go back here again, the waitress was more concerned about playing on her cell phone then tending to us. Terrible place to eat should of went to Peter Sheilds.

This place is mediocre at best. They have a great location but the food is not good. The burgers taste like frozen patties. A bag of chips comes with them fries are an upgrade. Their fish tacos comes with a tiny little piece of frozen fish and no sauce. Their Irish fries are just cheese fries with a prepackaged side of sour cream. The service was good. They call themselves an Irish Pub but they only had 5 beers on tap. I will not be back.

Absolutely amazing. We were there the weekend after Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy our meal and drinks outside on the patio. Service was great and the food was awesome. Go authentic and try the corned beef and cabbage– you will not be disappointed.

I will never visit this establishment again. The waitress was completely flustered. She got all the drinks wrong, and never brought refills Also she kept repeating things. The food while edible wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t favorable. My friend got a chicken sandwich he could barely eat it was so hard and dry.

The Reuben was DELISH… Meat cut thin from Carnegie Deli. The lobster roll lacked any flavor and you’ve gotta pay extra for fries… one of my pet peeves. Petty? Probably! But if I’m already paying $ 15 for a sandwich, we’re looking at a pricey lunch. So that’s why no 5-star.

Don’t let the plastic cups and broad pub menu fool you — this place is actually very nice! The kids’ meal was a good deal $$ — they graciously replaced French fries with a healthy fresh fruit option(berries and sliced apple). Fried green beans were crispy, spicy and done right — not greasy at all. Clam chowder — delicious. Fish tacos — sweet, tasty and fresh. We were impressed. Veggie burrito, quite good though a bit over priced — the vegetables were all fresh and flavorful.

The food was good for«bar food» but the staff was awful. From the bartender loudly singing along with the music to the lemon/water fight between staff it was almost unbearable. The final straw was having to hear the staff cursing none stop to each other about having to clean stuff. After that we weren’t ordering entrees. Thanks for the appetizers and the awful ambiance.

Just awful. Crabby hostess, pouty waitress, not the cleanest table. Food was just pathetic. My lobster roll had barely a ¼ cup of sad, shredded lobster. Most appalling was a bag of potato chips on each throw-away plastic plate. A. Bag. Of. Potato. Chips. Clearly a tourist trap. Avoid at all costs. Your tummy will thank you.

They have a good beer selection but the menu leaves a little bit to be desired. I was in the mood for something light and most of the items were platters or hot sandwiches. The food was okay and the service was excellent. I’ll probably try another place in Cape May next time.

Cool Irish Pub on the main strip of the shopping area in Cape May. It’s a relatively new bar/restaurant as they opened in 2014. I didn’t have any food from here and only stopped in for a drink. The bar wraps around with a decent amount of seating. The vibe was casual and everyone was having a good time. You can tell they do cater to locals(bar wise). Bartenders were friendly. Beers on draft ranged from Coors Light to local Cape May brews. It wasn’t divey at all. Worth a stop in for a drink.

We visit Cape May each Mother’s Day. My wife enjoys breakfast at the Batter. Today there was an hour wait and no one wanted to wait. As I sought a parking spot, they walked up the street and thought they would like to dine here. I remember this being Jackson Mountain(and other things before that). The food was never the selling point here. Ho hum… We ordered. My wife ordered the nachos grande for an appetizer. While I wouldn’t say they were the best ever, they were better than what we usually get out. We ate the plate. I ordered the pastrami and swiss sandwich. They use Carnegie Deli meats. The menu stated it was piled high. That got me thinking of the massive sandwiches from the Carnegie Deli. No, this wasn’t piled high at all. But it tasted very good. Cape May prices are at hand here. Sandwiches do not come with fries, that is an upsell of $ 4 a pop. Yes, it is the shore. The fries, btw, are worth it! :) I am picky and don’t usually go for places like this. Usually it’s a throwaway meal. This was a pleasant surprise and I would gladly return.

Having stopped at two of the few restaurants in hopes of enjoying a nice dinner and being turned away because we didn’t have reservations ~ we popped into Delaney’s Irish Pub and Grill. So glad we did! Not only were we greeted immediately with a friendly smile and«Welcome to Delaney’s!»…we were seated too! Score! Ok, I know it’s the holiday season, but who makes reservations when stopping on the spur of the moment at a touristy town with scads of drop ins? Hmmm… perhaps we’ll change up our game plan in the future. As I was saying… I’m so glad we chose Delaney’s! After looking over the menu, and seeing a boat load of orders coming out of the kitchen(seriously, it was like a revolving door!) we made our dinner decisions. I chose the original hand-formed angus burger and upgraded to the sweet potato fries vs a bag of chips. The hubster ordered the Shepard’s Pie. One word for both ~ YUMMO! So tasty! My burger was perfectly grilled, not dry and not dripping with grease, and huge! Larger than the bun ~ as all burgers should be!
