They always make emergency appointments, when I needed. Dr. Mackoul always helpful and informative. Never rushed or uncaring. Thanks Doc

Staff has always been polite, timely, and helpful! They went the extra mile for us when trying to figure out some insurance stuff. Doctor MacKoul is a great guy — super duper smart and genuinely cares about the kids!

If you want the best healthcare for your children I wouldn’t take them to MacKoul Pediatrics! Being new to the Cape Coral area I had heard MacKoul Pediatrics was a good doctors office for my children. I regret taking my children there. They are unorganized, long waits, some of the front desk staff is unfriendly, they don’t communicate well, they leave you on hold for long periods, and make mistakes. If I was unhappy with one or two issues I would not be writing a bad review. However, I was unhappy about several things. I have taken both my children there. Both appointments were to get my children cleared for school and to get their immunizations for Florida transferred over. Both appointments I was there for well over 2 hours. When I took my son they told me before hand to bring his shot record and I did so. After 2 hours they gave me paperwork and sent me on my way. The next day, they called me and told me that they had made a mistake and he still needed one more shot so I would have to reschedule and bring him back for another appointment. On the follow up appointment they tried to over-charge me and re-bill me for another office visit instaead of just the immunization. A month later when I decided to get my daughter cleared for school, I again called MacKoul Pediatrics. They told me because she was younger than 2 years old that I would have to bring in her prior medical history for review and I did so. After giving them a week to review her medical information they told me because of her history she would need to be seen by Dr. MacKoul himself and that there would be a 3 week wait for an appointment. Three weeks later my parents took my daughter in for an appointment because I had to work. When they got there they were told they couldn’t see my daughter because she could only be taken in by me. I again had to reschedule and wait another 2 weeks for an appointment with Dr. MacKoul. Two weeks later when we arrived for her appointment we were seen by the physicians assistant and not Dr. MacKoul. When i asked why we had to wait so long for an appointment to be seen specifically by Dr. MacKoul the P.A. was unsure and said there was no note in the chart. She did say she could send Dr. MacKoul in and did so after she saw my daughter. When Dr. MacKoul came in he knew I was upset and apologized for the confusion. He also said he could review her medical history for me which was surprising because they had already had her medical information for over 1 month and he was unaware of her medical past.(She was diagnosed with a medical condition in utero and had a major surgery after she was born) Anyhow, both Dr. MacKoul and his P.A. were very friendly but I was unsatisfied with the un-organization. The day of her visit I again brought my daughters shot record for review along with all the other documents they requested I bring for her file. During this visit they did a lead level blood check on my daughter. At that time I was told that her lead levels were high and that she would need to go to an outside lab for more lab work to confirm the lead levels in her blood. Being new to the area we did not yet have medical insurance so I paid cash for the doctors appointment and being concerned about the possible lead in her system(that didnt make sense because lead has been removed from paint and everything else) I again paid an extra $ 120.00 for the lab work. The next day I was again called back by Dr. MacKoul’s office and said I needed to bring in her shot record again because they forgot to add it to her file. The following day I was called and told her lab results came back negative for the lead. When I asked how this was I was told it was probably just an error made on taking the blood or the machine at the office was wrong. I was extremely upset that I had to traumatize my 1 year old to have the blood drawn due to an error. I will not be taking my children back to Dr. MacKouls office.
