This place is a disaster. First of all, I can’t tell that it actually exists as Sailor’s. We went inside, we thought, but it turned out to be «Baja Barbecue» or something like that. The little balcony bar is called«Chugs». It’s like someone decided to break up Sailors into three separate poorly run businesses, instead of one big one. On to the service. Terrible. It seemed to take the waitress a minimum of 10 minutes to do any one task. She started out by apologizing for the fact the restaurant doesn’t offer chips and salsa. You have to buy it. $ 7. And, if you want queso. Add another $ 7. This is South Texas, fool. Nobody charges $ 14 for chips, salsa and queso. Most places don’t charge at all. The barbecue plate was cold and the portions child-sized. two slices of prisket, a spoonful of pulled pork and two pig fetus-sized back ribs, and after offering me a choice of sauces, it took another 10 minutes for her to actually bring it to the table, so even colder at that point. Then to top it off, after taking my credit card, for another 10 minutes, she came back all flustered saying that it was declined. The receipt said«cancelled — no dial tone». I pointed out to her that my credit card doesn’t control whether or not they paid their phone bill. She took it and tried again, then came back, 10 minutes later, to tell me the computers were all down, and she would have to do it «the old school way» with a credit card slide machine. I agreed. 10 minutes later, she came back to tell me the slide machine wasn;t available, but she had graciously made out a handwritten ticket with all my credit card details on it and would I please sign it… I asked for the manager. He came by, 5 minutes later, and started to explain. I did cut him off short and informed him I would not be leaving them my credit card information written on a ticket and that I had been waiting now for 30 minutes to pay. He said«sorry», took the receipt, gave me the handwritten one and said lunch was on the house.

Spent the night on our boat at Canyon Lake. Decided to take in some of the local food. Since Sailor’s Likeside Grill is the only place within walking distance – it was a no-brainer. Food was surprisingly good and would not hesitate to return. It has a full liquor license and the only thing that really bothered me was — when we walked in about 8:00PM, it’s fairly busy and the bar has approx 10 seats. 2 adults were seated at the bar and the rest of the seats were taken by kids – I’m talking 5 to 10 year olds. And they weren’t going anywhere soon. What’s up with this??? I understand taking your kids out to eat — but buy them there Shirley T’s and get them to a table so the adults can get up to the bar. There were 2 bartenders and I suggest that one of them should have told the parents to gather them up and move ‘em.

Delicious pulled-pork sliders. Spinach Artichoke dip was passable but not something I’d order again. Wait staff only gets two thumbs up(out of 5); didn’t get bar order right on two different occasions which would’ve been understandable had they been slammed with customers. Best place for watching the sunset on a lazy summer day. We’ll be back!

Looks rough on the outside, but the presentation and quality were excellent. We had Jalapenos stuffed with shrimp, wrapped in bacon, grilled over a fire. Not deep fried like you usually get, but tasty! My wife had the coconut shrimp — Jumbo and really tasty. I had Chicken, breaded and covered with pecans, seasoned with ginger and drizzled with a pineapple sauce. Excellent! It was served over a great rice seasoned with gentle hints of rosemary, and pecans.

Been there twice and all was OK. Concerned that due to the location, that it was going to be like other places with a nice view and crappy food. Not the case. The menu is not sophisticated, but everything ordered was decent and satisfied. The stuffed jalapenos are worth ordering for sure!

Fantastic! We live on the lake and after a long day on the water we love to dock the boat at the marina and eat at Lucky’s/Sailor’s Lakeside. The food has always been consistent. Recently we went and were told that there was going to be a long wait — and it was much longer than what we have ever experienced, so they must have been short staffed. BUT when we were seated and actually got our food — all of it was great! No one was disappointed a bit! I told the manager that even though the wait was so long, they did a great job on the food and that was what mattered to all of us! The staff is very friendly and I personally think the menu is great! They don’t have a huge selection, but there IS plenty to choose from and its NOT boring! I think that is how they are able to stay consistent. My family and I highly recommend eating there!

Atmosphere: top notch. A great place for people and boat watching. Service: great. It was not busy when we were there, so I can’t speak to how they handle large crowds, but we were treated quite well. Food: delicious! mmmmmm potatoes! …and amazing grilled asparagus. Menu: While it could use a little work for more vegetarian/vegan options, they were happy to accommodate my needs with a selection of veggie sides. Aside: It’s on Army Corps of Engineers property(or something) so there is an extra tax on the bill for that.

We usually ask for Claire as our server but she apparently isn’t there anymore. We got a guy named, Kip who was rather snotty, fake, and egotistical. If the food didn’t put a sour taste in our mouth the service certainly did.

After an afternoon of boating we decided to check this place out for an early dinner. When we walked in it looked fairly empty but we had a large group so it took them a little while to get a table together for us. The server must have been new or just very«Special» We ordered some Stuffed Jalapenos and they were VERY, VERY, VERYYUMMY! If you go make sure and check these out. Easily some of the best stuffed Jalapenos I have ever had. I can taste them now: P Then we decided to go with a burger and a chicken wrap. The wrap I really did not care for because it had wayyyyyy too much mayo or something like it anyway :(On the upside my burger was pretty damn tasty and instead of getting the usual I got a side of MAC and CHEESE. They put extra fresh cheddar on the mac and melt it again on top of the cheese sauce which makes it by far on of the best macs I have had EVER! It rival Outback steakhouses mac and cheese which has whipping cream in it. So addicting!!! Maybe one day I will be back and just have stuffed jalapenos and Mac and cheese Oh ya and a Beer too! That would be healthy right???

We had an early dinner here this past weekend with 5 friends from San Antonio and our 8 dog companions after a long day of tubing at Tube Haus. The super dog friendly covered deck over looking the marina was as good as it gets when looking for a place to dine with dogs on the lake and the service was super friendly and the food was all 4 stars or more. We started with Fried Oysters served over waffle fries — both perfectly fried and served with a spicy cocktail sauce and home made ketchup. The Shrimp Cocktail was served in a Martini glass that was served with the same yummy spicy cocktail sauce. The Ceviche had a great flavor but I did not like the texture of the Orange Roughy. The Jalapenos stuffed with shrimp and cheese and wrapped in bacon before being deep fried was my favorite. The portions on the apps were perfect for a party of six so we got to sample a lot. Izzy and I shared a Blackened Shrimp Salad that was served with grilled onions, mushrooms and red bell peppers and a yummy house made Strawberry Vinaigrette and Snow Crab Legs that were a special of the day. Everything ordered was under 10.00 except the Crab Legs(12.00) I also had a Bloody Mary that was pretty darn good. I look forward to going back next time we are in Canyon Lake!

This is a nice seafood restaurant that is right on the water and has a great view of the lake. The prices are not cheap, but not outrageous either and the food is good. Both times I have been it was not very crowded and the staff was minimal, but the service was a bit slow. They also have a full bar outside, and even in the summer the breeze off of the water and the fans on the bar keep it pretty cool.

Lucky Sailor is located right by the lake, convenient for all the people who’ve been out on the water all day! We chose to sit outside to enjoy the nice breeze on the patio. As an appetizer we got the Diamond Backs which were their version of Jalapeño Poppers. To make them extra fatty, they were wrapped with BACON!! The mix of cheese, bacon, shrimp and spice is a burst of greedy goodness in your mouth! I could have eaten the whole thing by myself, definitely a must! We all decided on the prime rib and come to find out«they were out».BOOO!!! I then decided on the mini burgers were surprisingly really good. Most of the time when i get mini burgers i expect them to be dry and lack flavor but these were juicy and had the right shade of pink! The waffle fries that accompanied the meal were alright– they look alot better than they taste. Overall I would come here again and maybe try one of their seafood dishes if they«aren’t out». =]

Great service and good food but most importantly cold Guiness makes Lucky Sailor a 5 star choice. The location is perfect overlooking the Canyon Lake marina boasting a beautiful view from inside or out. Although the dish I wanted was out(prime rib) my second choice(quesadillas) we delicious and beautifully prepared. And at $ 9 a real steal. After a long day on the lake I’m sure the place is packed rightfully so. But on a rainy weekend morning we had the place mostly to ourselves. The best part about everything was the beautiful presentation of the food served on heavy square white plates. The inside décor was a perfect blend of contemporary design with a marine theme.
