I absolutely loved this place! We have driven by here many times, but we never stopped. Now I wish we would have stopped sooner. Frank’s is truly a mom and pop’s place, and a definite must see. The food was great homemade Mexican food. The best I’ve had in a long time. The owners are the only people that work there, but I think that’s why it’s so great. Frank is the host and his wife does the cooking. Don’t expect to eat quickly, but the wait is worth it. There’s so much to see while you are waiting for your food, you won’t even notice the time. There’s a little museum in the back that is must see. And almost everything in there has been donated by previous customers. We will absolutely be going back before we leave Texas. And go back again when we return. Thank you Frank.

First time here, and I was very impressed. The owner came out and spent some time with us to. make sure we had a pleasant stay, which we did. The food is 100% home made, well worth the wait. There is also a museum attached with thousands of unique items. I spent some time looking around as i waited for the food. I will be back for another home cooked meal.

Personality and good food. There are not a lot of choices in Canyon Lake so you should consider this restaurant/tackle shop/U-Haul rental place on 306. The walls and ceiling are so covered with artifacts and trinkets that you could walk around looking all day. To go along with the walls is mismatched furniture and a charming patio. The food is good with plenty of variety. There are tacos of course along with other choices of Mexican food. If you are not up for Mexican there are burgers, CFS and sandwiches. There were lots of breakfast selections even though they don’t open until noon. The people are great and they will let you know up front that the food is not fast. Everything is made to order so it takes a little time but it is worth the wait. The downer for me was no alcohol is served and it is not BYOB. Make sure that you have cash because that is the only form of payment accepted. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.

We saw this play on TV and had to check it our. Franks Bait and Taco. They also have UHAUL rentals and computer repair. This place is one of a kind. The walls are covered with stuff you might find in a garage sale. Waiting for the food is an adventure in itself as you have to walk around and check out all the décor. FOOD — was good. I loved the tacos and enchaladas but not impressed with the tamale. This is not fast food. Be prepared to wait. As they say in this place, you are on Lake Time. CHECKTHEHOURS. They are wierd.
