A great place to do grocery shopping, clean, good deals, convenient location, that if you stay away from their deli because of their poor customer service, the other thing is don’t bother to talk to a manager or supervisor in that store;it seems they simply don’t have any passion and just don’t really care. Oh something else happened few times to me and others and that is if an employee was sent to get you something or an answer to a question that he\she didn’t know; that employee never comes back!!!

Great produce selection and I enjoy the organic section also. Good place to buy braggs products and healthier munchies without having to pay those terribly high garden of light prices. I really think this is one of the better grocers around.

Out standing supermarket — even though I hate the mall traffic the staff is excellent until… this morning… the girl behind the fish counter was pretty rude. She made me feel like I was putting her out by asking for a lb of fish. She did not speak to me at all. I apologized to her as she was just putting items out… it was very uncomfortable… will ship at Price chopper next Sunday

This was a nice market to come too, but unfortunately has changed a lot. Items that go on sale are always not available or in a very low amount. Product lines are always missing the most basic of items to be offered. When you speak to one of the staff it’s always«we didn’t get our delivery«and when you speak to an on duty manager its«get a rain check » … And they always act either disinterested in your concerns as a customer or not too bright. It is almost as though they use items to attract you into the store and push you into buying the store brand. It’s time to start spending my money elsewhere and not return here or any of the other stores … As most of them are even worse ! I will give them one star to acknowledge the cleanness of the store.

I really like shop rites over all other grocery stores because there prices are always good, the food and produce Is fresh and conveniently located. Unfortunately it was not a big thing but when I was looking to utilize their self help coffee bean dispensers, they did not have any bags available. I found someone who worked there and they said they would get the bags and never showed. Annoying because I had to go to big Y as a second stop where I was hoping to get everything at shop rite. Oh well

I always drove by this grocery store thinking it was a step below Stop and Shop and I couldn’t have been more wrong! Amazing selection and more choices than I have seen in any other grocery store. I am vegetarian, do not buy processed foods orfoods that have preservatives, additives etc. I would drive all the way to Whole Foods for certain things and was surprised to see them in this store. Was very happy as it saves me the long trip and pricing here is more reasonable. Love the bake shop although the price of the cannoli kit is a bit on the high side so have yet to purchase this item. Smoked salmon is the best I can find anywhere! Sells out quickly too. Definitely recommend.

Nice selection, clean, not too crowded(I went during the work day). Prices were fair. order some salmon from behind the counter and there was a large amount of bones still in it.

This site is where I do most of my shopping for groceries. The only issue is the deli. Very slow and almost never staffed well. Good deals and you can get all you need here.

The Canton Shop Rite store is superior to all other Shop Rites I’ve ever visited. The cleanliness, freshness, large stock of prominently displayed Connecticut goods, and friendly staff make me wish I lived closer(not that the West Hartford location is bad, but this is just excellent). They even have a mobile checkout option, which I tried for the first time last Friday. This store has everything from olive oils and vinegars on tap to a nice array of prepared foods and organic selections. Prices are much better than the surrounding grocery stores(lookin’ at you Stop & Shop and Big Y) and location is unbeatable. Maybe it’s good that I don’t live too close to Canton or I’d spend all my time in the Shops at Farmington Valley!

This review is from a vegan perspective. Many supermarkets in the valley have respectable produce departments, but Shop Rite features many sales, and even loss leaders, which match my mostly whole food vegan buying pattern. I cook mostly from scratch, so I load up on fresh fruits and vegetables – at excellent prices. I bring my Ariston refill bottles and hit all the delicious olive oils and vinegars on tap next. Then, their natural food section is right around the corner. It has a decent refrigerated/frozen section featuring vegan staples like Earth Balance and Follow Your Heart vegenaise, along with a large selection of non-dairy yogurts. I love that they carry Amy’s and Gardein frozen foods, which provide my family with quick and healthy meals when I don’t feel like cooking. The grocery section of the natural food area is well selected with non-dairy milks of all sorts, nut butters, Vermont Bread Company breads, Bob’s Mill grains, flours, and seeds, and Seventh Generation cleaners. By this point, I have shopped less than 30 minutes and I’m mostly done with my shopping. I make dishes like chik’n pot pies, mushroom raviolis, stir-fries, veggie pizza and shepherd’s pie for the week, and my family is really happy! Oh yes, I forgot to mention that modest shopping every week earns you a free tofurky at Thanksgiving. That’s such a delightful acknowledgment of vegans who shop at Shop Rite.
