This salon has really gone down hill over the past few years. They have lost several stylists(ladies that were there for many many years and who are awesome stylists) over the past year. I noticed the last time I was there that it wasn’t that clean and was in need of some updating including a coat of paint on the walls. Joy was an amazing aesthetician but she left as well. I think that speaks volumes about this place. I decided to leave and follow one of the stylists to a different salon and so glad that I did.

I bought my fiancé a trip to Headliners for a gel and pedicure before or vacation. She has had this service at other salons many times. They barely lasted 10 days. When I icalled to discuss it I was promised 3 times that the owner would be informed and I would be contacted. It never happened. Poor quality can’t be worked out. Lack of caring can’t. I would tell potential clients, go elsewhere.

I was extremely disappointed in my massage service. For an over $ 40 ½ hour massage, I received a 17 – 18 minute massage and it was not relaxing nor helpful. While my husband had a better experience, it was still not worth the almost $ 100 we paid. I do not recommend for the massage portion and will not return.

I came in with a relative for the ½ hour back massage and ½ hour facial duo, as well as a manicure. I was worked on by Mary for the massage and facial portion. She was very kind and sweet. She did a great job with both the massage and facial… I would definitely see her again. I then moved over to the manicure portion, and I enjoyed the warm softening mitts and the grooming, but the polish application wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. She did a nice job, but not stellar. I docked one star because our only complaint was during checkout. My cousin was charged $ 10 more for the same services I had… we did the identical package and manicure. We questioned the difference and we were told the massage/facial duo cost $ 75, but the website states $ 65. So I was charged $ 65, and my cousin was charged $ 75. My cousin had paid by credit card before we realized the error, so instead of refunding my cousin’s $ 10, the lady at the desk gave her a coupon for a free shampoo and blow out. Really? The website(as I type this) STILL states $ 65 for the duo package… not very impressed with the customer service aspect! How can you charge one of us $ 10 more when your website lists a lower price and not refund the difference? Bad business practices!

My daughter urged me to write a review about our trip to Headliners for pedicures last month. We opted for the more expensive($ 65) one hour pedicure. For it we spent half an hour sitting in the fancy chair having our feet soaked. The foot care was not the treat I had expected. The cutting of toenails was slapdash; they didn’t even cut two of mine all the way across, leaving a sharp point of nail sticking into the side of my toe; I had to cut them myself. Only one coat of polish rather than the usual two. The whole experience was a big disappointment. Fortunately I’ve had a better experience at a salon on the west side of Massillon, where a pedicure cost half as much. I’ve noticed many salons closing lately. If they want to keep their customers they’d better hire employees who care about their work.

I just started going to Headliners and couldn’t be happier. I get my hair cut and colored by Ann Marie. She is the consumate professional. She does a great consultation before each cut to make sure she understands what I want. Her technique is flawless, color is spot on and I leave happy. It is a bit more expensive, but so worth it when it comes to your hair. The place itself is clean, spacious, full of good light and comfortable. The front-desk staff are polite but not friendly. I want to try other services there, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I will. Update: 12÷20÷12: Got a groupon to Headliners for a Gel Shellac Manicure. So I decided to try out the nail services. I have never had a shellac manicure, they are supposed to last 10 – 14 days. Mine last five. The manicurist told me that they would have to be soaked off but mine all pealed off on Christmas Eve. I didn’t scrub anything. I didn’t do hard labor. I didn’t soak in any acetone of any sort but they all very easily pealed off. Sad. Now I won’t have pretty nails for Christmas. I definitely won’t be back for nail services. I also went somewhere else to get my hair done, they are too pricey for me.

If I am home I will call Joy for an eyebrow wax. She does a great job and she’s cool to chat with. This salon is just okay – kinda like the rest of Canton – stuck in the 80s.
