It doesn’t get much worse than this. I don’t think the waiter either cared or was just plain stupid. Kept forgetting straws, then the food arrived and we had to ask the kitchen server to bring the cheese dip he kept forgetting so we got our appetizer after the meal. The incompetence of the waiter EARNS a shit review and ZERO tip.

This place is HORRIBLE. Chips were soggy and stale. Sent them back and the kitchen refried them and returned them to us. Server tried, but forgot drinks, refilled with wrong drinks, then gave wrong cups to wrong diner(straw in one, not the other). Tacos authenticos *might* have one ounce of meat between three tacos. NOT worth $ 9. Kids meal came out long after everyone else’s food and the cheeseburger was completely missing the cheese. The tacos tampicos had meat seasoned in pure salt, or at least it tasted like it. Basically if it could be served incorrectly, it was. Gross, greasy, over seasoned, plain… The steak nachos were 2 ounces of meat over more stale chips with a tiny dusting of cheese. I don’t think they qualified as nachos by definition.

Just another run of the mill Mexican restaurant. I order to-go from time to time as it is very close to the house, and it is usually OK. Frequently something is missing or slightly off, usually not enough for me to drive back while my food gets cold. The lunch specials are decent and usually good if I can’t venture far from the office for lunch. Nothing to get excited about unfortunately.

Came in on a Friday night. They were busy. No one seems to understand what’s going on. My order was messed up THREE times. I finally canceled the whole thing and left. The waitress was rude and confused. Will never return.

The salsa is very good, should have stopped there. We ordered Shrimp Tacos and Combo plate. The Combo Plate was like warm even though the waiter said the plate was hot. Shrimp Taco didn’t arrive with the meal but the rice and beans did. Rice and beans got cold waiting for Shrimp Tacos. When they did arrive I sent back the Combo plate. Shrimp were cold and I mean out of the frig cold. There was no way these shrimp were cooked to order. Manager agreed and we got another order with hot shrimp. However, tacos covered in an awful mayo based sauce. Sauce should enhance the meal not be the main taste. Over all the food was mediocre at best. When the check came we were charged for everything. No drink comp no discount of any kind. Manager didn’t even come by to check on our food. Sorry but I’m not going back or even bothering to go into the new location in Crabapple. Vaya con Dios!

A year ago, I stopped going here because of the rats that swarmed the outside eating area at dusk. When I spoke to the manager regarding the rodents, he laughed and he blamed it on the field beside the restaurant that was owned by someone else. He said they need to mow it. Needless to say, it has taken me a year to come back and give them another chance. Tonight… the service was extremely slow, the tacos were greasy and the chili rellano had NO pepper in it. Seriously… a nickel size piece of pepper was found. When I spoke with the waiter… he stated that is how it is served and shook his head. I informed him I did not order meat and queso… he said that is how it is here. I used to love this place… I am done with second… third…fourth chances! Nasty!

We use to order take-out frequently from this restaurant because it was a convenient location and they had decent fajita nachos, when they remember to add the cheese. The tacos, blah, very soggy. Also, they don’t know how to add and subtract to make change from cash payments. A math-challenged young lady tried to short change us on 2 separate visits. My suggestion to this restaurant is that they need to get a calculator and/or hire people who are more proficient in mathematics. We will be looking for another option with better customer service, especially after reading how horrible another reviewer, Kristen, was treated. There is a Mexican restaurant on every corner. It shouldn’t be too hard to find better service with competent employees. Good luck to those of you who decide to dine here. I hope you have better experiences. In my opinion, there are too many problems to spend anymore money at this establishment.

We ordered an appetizer, kid’s plate and two regular entrees. The kid’s plate arrived first. The plate was hot to the touch. As I was about to cut the quesadilla, I noticed a hair on the plate. I located our waitress and specifically told her we wanted the entire meal remade since the hair was physically touching the quesadilla and they brought rice instead of beans. Two minutes later, she returned with the exact same plate with the same quesadilla on it. The quesadilla had a piece of burnt cheese on it with a distinct appearance, the same both times. It was the same plate as well, it was lukewarm when they brought it back. The quesadilla was also lukewarm since they did not remake it. Based on these health violations and sheer laziness, we decided not to compromise our health eating at this establishment. If this is what is presented to a customer, then there is much more to be discovered in their kitchen. An unsanitary kitchen makes unsanitary food. I asked for a manager but none was on duty. I asked to pay for what we had eaten but they told us we didn’t have to pay for any of it. We left the waitress a tip for the service she had already provided. We will not be returning to this restaurant based on their health violations. We will not risk getting sick. We were especially upset they risked my small child’s health.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place in a strip mall. The service was excellent, our food came out very quickly, the pitcher of margaritas was great, the order was exactly was I wanted, the portions were just right and I liked the veggie fajitas that I got. If ever in the area again I definitely come back.

Things have again fallen off. I ordered the Fajita Chicken Salad and it was gross. The whole thing was just a mushy wet mess. The server was great and attentive he kept our drinks full and was overall just a nice kid. This did not make up for the gross food. It wasn’t just a bad batch I could tell it was just a bad mix of ingredients. I was very disappointing not only was it presented poorly but it was a small offering. Would I have wanted more? Yes if it had been better! Ugh oh well, with all the Mexican restaurants around I won’t miss this one. I was really hoping their turnaround would continue but sadly I will again have to take this place off my go to list.

This place is close to my parents’ house, so they end up here a lot. The first few times I joined them, it just seemed like your run-of-the-mill fake mexican food, which is just fine if that’s what you’re looking for. I usually am not. Chips, salsa, various bean-meat-cheese-tortilla combinations– exactly what you’d expect. The last two times I’ve been, though, things were different. I was there with my mother a few months back(she absolutely loves their chicken tortilla soup, by the way) and saw that they had huevos rancheros. Loved it. Simple dish, but felt like real food. This last visit, figuring I could fall back on the huevos rancheros, I was overjoyed to see«authentic tacos» on the menu. I ordered a plate of three– two carnitas and one chorizo. They were pricier than the ones you get at the places on Buford highway, but also much meatier. And very good. Tasty meat, onions, and cilantro in corn tortillas, just as it should be. It didn’t even occur to me until I was done that they should be served with a lime wedge, but I guess they didn’t need it. I’m ready to declare Dos Margaritas, against all odds, Hickory Flat’s first real restaurant. Congratulations, boonies.

This place is great. i come here 1 – 3 times a month. i have never had a problem with the food, the quality of the food or the environment of the restaurant. the only thing i have experienced a persisting problem with is the waiting staff. it usually takes a while for them to check if i need refills or anything of that nature. i love this place overall though.

Dos Margaritas should be renamed Gross Margaritas. This was one of the worst Mexican meals and margaritas I’ve tasted in a long, long time. Beans = runny and a weird gray color. Rice = hard and crunchy. Enchiladas = raw on the inside with a tasteless sauce on the outside. I mean how hard is it to cook good beans and rice. Everything tasted like it was made the week before and just sat around getting old. Margaritas seriously tasted like lighter fluid… wait, not that good. Server was more interested in watching T.V. At the bar along with all the other servers. Would not recommend this place to anyone I liked.

This is a follow up review. Food quality and taste has definitely improved here. Not sure if they have made management changes, but I agree that food is fresher and simply«better». We will continue to come back here. Glad they made the changes they did!
