Love it. Don’t change a thing. Great brisket. Great sides. They even have a fried pie shop. Smells awesome before you even open the front door. A loyal customer.

Just stopped after visiting Trade Days. We got here at 12:30 and they were out of pecan, coconut and chocolate pies. This was after we asked for pumpkin pies and were told they take 5 minute to make. We usually enjoy visiting here, but will probably not return.

You don’t really need to read this, I’m just given em my 5 stars. But if you do read this… The fried pies are awesome. My absolute favorite BBQ spot when I’m not in Tyler is any Bakers. What’s my favorite here? Crazy man, but I really dig their sausage.

We were in town for Splash Kingdom and stopped to eat. We love the Greenville location but Canton needs some work. Food was good but service was horrible. Our meal came out in pieces over 25 minutes. Fried pies took the full 25 minutes even though people after us with large orders of them were getting them much sooner.

I can’t say enough good things about this place, this is one of 2 places in the whole state of Texas that I like, and I have tried over 50 places at least. EVERYTHING is made fresh, and you can not only smell the smoke in the BBQ, but it permeates the meat and is absolutely wonderful. The potato salad is creamy and has a slight dill flavor, the beans are hearty and the brisket melts in your mouth. I have eaten at this location as well as the one in Greenville and they have the same quality at both. Ok, even if you don’t have enough room for dessert when you are finished eating, you NEED to grab a fried pie or two for the road. My favorite so far is the peach, but every other one that I have tried has been wonderful.

Great food, but need to get more help and people on 1st Monday weekend. Cost was great, traffic flow in and out of actual restaurant was a nightmare. Tables were not being cleaned off either.

The BBQ sliced brisket sandwich was good. Cost was under $ 7. They do not have public wifi.

Had the pulled pork fried pie, and a blackberry fried pie for dessert. They made the pulled pork to order — so it was still warm. Very good.

This place is great! My husband and I loved the brisket and pulled pork. Chicken and sausage are good too. We even enjoyed the sides(mac & cheese and pasta salad especially). Friendly staff as well.

Fantastic fruit-filled FRIED pies found in the back corner of Baker’s Ribs restaurant. When hot and fresh — ooh wee, ooh wee! Apple, peach, cherry are my favorites. Just found a vanilla and a pumpkin one I’m gonna try this time too. NOTE(food allergies): Pies are fried in PEANUT oil.

On the side of Baker’s Ribs is a little fried pie shop. I’ve never had a fried pie before but it just seemed like the right thing to do when you’re heading out to East Texas. For four bucks you can get a delicious pie in a variety of flavors. I highly recommend the pecan pie. It’s ooey and gooey, warm and not too sweet. Messy but worth it. I can only imagine what the other ones tastes like. They sold meat pies too, including brisket.

We are from Dallas and stop here after Trade Days. We always get a BBQ meat pie while we wait. They are made on the spot, so hot and fresh! We like their pulled pork, brisket and sausage. All are moist, tender + spiced perfectly. We love the bbq sauce-has a snap go it like good TX sauce should! If it’s too spicy, you probably aren’t a Native Texan. Getshurself some cream/fruit pies to take home, too-they’re delic and you’ll be glad ya did!!!

Superior«along the highway» food for sure. The brisket was delicious! Tender, flavorful and plenty of it for me. Sides we definitely above average. The pie was saved and eaten late night and was delicious(I got apple). I will stop again if ever on that route!

Hubby says five stars, but I took one cause Taxas BBQ is just too spicy for me. My mouth was burning just from the rub. Side were great, scalloped potatoes with chunks of cheddar in them, Mac n cheese, green beans, Texas beans as well as baked beans,(so they listen to their helpers ;) all the typical picnic sides, potato salad, slaw etc. What I could eat of it was excellent, worth a stop if you have a hankering for good smoked BBQ! There’s good parking for trailers and a drive thru!

On our way down 20 we had an envee for BBQ. The fiancé being the BBQ snob he is, I used my time on the interstate for some research. The reviews are pretty spot on, with exceptions. 1. We tried the pork, brisket, and sausage. Pork is amazing. Pork seamed to have a black pepper seasoning at its simplest element. It was great. Brisket is tender and flavorful. Sausage was cooked to perfection and of a sweeter variety. We avoided the chicken based on the reviews. So I have nothing to add for that. The tea is the perfect sweetness and brew(I’m a weird stickler for this). The beans were Mexican style. Good, but not baked beans I was hoping for. Fiancé loved it. The macaroni was creamy and wonderful. 2. The employees were great. Very nice and very helpful. They guided me on every decision. Plus all smiling and having fun with each other. 3. The pies. While good, very unimpressive. Neither of us were impressed. I got chocolate and he, blackberry. They were good, but we wouldn’t take any home. The pie was the only reason for taking a star away. All in all we would stop for the BBQ again and save our money and not order a pie.

Traveling to/from Shreveport on I-20 and like BBQ and/or fried pies?- lets keep it simple — STOPHERE! I enjoy BBQ and even smoke ribs myself with my own rub/sauce — the ribs here are excellent! a great spice and just the right amount of fat and meat to make them moist and juicy! All the sides are very good too, its obvious they put a lot of care and research into their BBQ and it is one of the best The original fried pie shop on I-20 — although I think they started in OK — they make them all from scratch here — sweet and savory and will custom make one for you if you wish. My wife always gets one to eat there, and several to take with us. Sugar Free options too if that is what you need. We live in DFW and travel to Shreveport regularly to see Family — whether we are coming or going this is practically a Mandatory stop for us! If you have a bit of time to spare there is a fun store next door — not affiliated — that has some outdoor and home décor with a country/southwestern theme.

We stopped because we love this Brand of Fried Pies having first eaten them in Hope, Ark. Since it was lunch we went ahead and got the Chipped Beef sandwich plate. Some of the best BBQ we have eaten. The sides were delicious also. Yes, we also got a dozen frozen fried pies and 2 for the car !

My mom and I stopped in on our way back to Dallas from Canton’s First Monday Trade Days. She was raving about the BBQ and I had no say in the matter — we were stopping! She got the 3-meat plate with ribs, brisket, and sausage, plus a side of green beans and a side of coleslaw. I got the pulled pork plate with a side of green beans and a side of pasta salad. Who knew our plates also came with a side of ungrateful attitude by the employees?! I asked the guy«how’s the pulled pork?» Others might have said«it’s delicious!» or «it’s really moist» or «if you’re looking for pig I prefer the sausage,» but this guy just shrugged while staring at me. Ooook… So I went for the pulled pork plate anyway, and asked for a lean portion. The pork was very dry, but likely because I asked for the lean portion, so that’s probably not their fault. It was tender and tasted really good with the bbq sauce. My mom enjoyed her plate, as usual. The cashier, who I think is the manager, charged us for two drinks even though I said I wanted water. When I corrected her, she acted like it was a pain. I also heard her being extremely rude to a customer who was in the drive-thru. After my pork plate, I decided to try one of their fruit pies. The young lady at the pie counter was very friendly and told me which pies they had in their case, and that I’d have to wait about 15 minutes if I wanted them to make me a pie they didn’t already have prepared. I selected the blackberry pie after lots of discussion with the girl about which ones were the best. It was SO good. The crust was flaky and there was a lot of blackberry filling. It tasted just like a blackberry cobbler, like the girl said. I’m so glad I don’t live near these pies or else I’d eat them every day. 4 stars for the food. 1 star for the pie employee. –2 stars for the God-awful bbq employees. I don’t care how good your food is, if the employees suck then why would anyone want to go there?
