Better than IHOP! I don’t know why this place has a bad rap. We arrived at 1:30 on a Saturday and were promptly seated and served. The server was nice. The food was above average, and the atmosphere was friendly. I’d definitely go here again for breakfast served all day!

About what you expect from VI. Low cost good that’s good but nothing to write home about. Pie was also good, but of course, not great. Service was slow but friendly. I wouldn’t balk about eating here again but also wouldn’t limit myself to this one dining establishment.

Not sure why this place has such poor reviews. Their menu is very extensive, they are open super late, and the ambiance on the inside is decent. It’s got a 60’s diner style vibe. They serve the full menu all day. I got the breakfast combo (which was like, $ 7) and got to pick 4 breakfast items from a list of 30 or so. The portions are not huge. We left full, but not stuffed (which is a good thing in my opinion). All in all, for its location, I was extremely pleased. Canon City has a very limited selection of places to eat despite having to cater to a lot of tourists who come to raft, zip-​line, and see the Gorge. We were lucky to find this place.

First, know that I am a VI fan. When in my hometown, we have a lot of business meetings/​lunches at the VI. I always go for free pie Wednesday. While in Canon City for business, I stopped in on Wednesday for some red chili, coffee and free slice of pie. The hostess ignored the 7 people waiting to be seated, while she chit chatted at length with those paying for their meals. I noted while waiting, that the place wasn’t up to the usual cleanliness standards. There were many employees moving around, but it seemed nothing was getting done. Chaotic at best. Once seated, it took forever to get my tepid temperature chili, and even longer to get my pie. The manager came by to check on me, and I told him that I thought he could better spend his time managing, organizing, expediting and cleaning. When I went to check out, the same hostess was in the weeds again. Jeez. By the way, I thought I had an iron stomach, but I was sick for three days.

Loud, dirty and slow. The food was actually good, however, the floor had lots of food everywhere. After the meal was finished, a small misunderstanding of «free pie night,» turned into, the server altering the check, and the manager arguing with me. Not worth getting into, and not worth a 2^nd round of mundane sub-​par service.

So, I’m a fan. We stopped here for breakfast on Easter Sunday. Our waitress was friendly and although she forgot some stuff, she brought it out quickly once it was pointed out. My hash browns were cooked really well, and I thought about getting seconds. I had the cinnamon toast pancakes which were also pretty yummy, too. My husband enjoyed his breakfast and was not still hungry when he was done. In all, this was a better experience than what I’ve received at the VI where I live. If we need breakfast in Canon City again, we would definitely consider coming here.

Poor service and greasy food, wifi didnt work, miserable experience.

had breakfast there on a Sunday morning about 10a.m. Our waitress was very anxious and seemed «new». Many mistakes on our orders, had to ask for things more than once, our food arrived after 30 minutes cold and overcooked as though it had been waiting for someone to bring it out… several items were inedible like the totally cold, overcooked cottage fries. We had Friends form out of town with us– very embarrassing. won’t be back

Service so so. Started vacuuming before the restaurant was closed. Burnt toast. Burnt food. Had to ask for things more than once.

The food is always good, staff is ok. The problem here is they tend to have a lot of elderly eating here and the person checking you out will explain (for the 50^th time) how to work the debit card machine.
