Despite the other reviews I actually found the service to be friendly and the strongest aspect of the restaurant. That being said, I had the IPA which tasted like it had gone bad so maybe it was on me to notify them of the taste but I just shut up and drank it. I also had the chicken fried steak sandwich which I thought was pretty substandard. All in all a very underwhelming experience, though I suppose I would give it another try if I were in the area.

This place was awesome. We are doing a mini trip around colorado, we stopped in town for one evening. Our thing is to eat at local bars and breweries, despite what other reviews said. Our waitress was super nice and good was amazing, wife had BBQ, and I had the canon burger. Aaaamazing. They change it up every week, but this one was a burger with BBQ, cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce. If your in the area go, best part it was only 20 bucks for food for the wife and I.

As other reviewers state, service here is miserable! Place itself is OK — sort of bland Western brewpub chic, geared toward tourist families and other miserable specimens of suburbia. Menu is standard pub fare: burgers, etc. We had the Rocky Mountain Oysters(a/k/a bull testicles) appetizer(which was ok)…then I had the veggie melt(ok) and my friend had fish and chips(also ok). We were sitting ATTHEBAR, and it still took about 45 minutes for anyone to take our food order. The staff seemed kind of put out by us… not sure if my friend said something to piss them off, or if they’re always this surly.(He asked a passing waitress if they took Visa, and she replied…“I’m not sure!” Was she just taking the piss out of him for asking a stupid question? Or was she really an idiot? ORBOTH???) Honestly, I would not come here again. I know, you’re probably reading this looking for a place to eat in Canon City… but heed my advice! It’s pretty lame, and the Rocky Mtn Oysters are NOT worth it.

The service was painfully slow. And not too friendly. Minus one star, sorry. Everything ELSE was GREAT. We liked the brews. Esp. the wheat and old town brown . We were with out of state visitors, seeing Royal Gorge & having a vacation & felt Rocky Mountain Oysters would be a good appetizer … Sure. Then they were really good. The chili rice vinegar sauce was unexpected and a great pairing. Also liked the house seasoned French fries — they were cheap, and we were«munchies». We all liked our entrees too. Pulled pork was a huge portion and soo good, though not«smoky».Liked our burgers & friend said the BLT was«special» .(greAt bacon .) It has a «funky old mountain bar«vibe, to boot —(as you wait for service) So yea, we liked it.

Very tasty beer here! I liked the pace of the service & the small town feel of the brew pub. The staff was super friendly as well. We’ll be back for a few more beers next time we’re in town.
