WOW! I came here recently on a weekend getaway for my boyfriends 30th birthday with his family, and while they have said it is the best food they have eaten hands down, this EXPEREIENCE beyond exceeded my expectations. I have never been to anything like it. I love that it’s an intimate setting where you feel appreciated and catered to. The entire staff was wonderful. And let’s not forget Bob and Lenore, absolutely wonderful hosts and chefs! The food was to die for… let me say that again TODIEFOR. If you are planning a trip to Cannon Beach definitely make reservations and you’ll be guaranteed a wonderful evening!

If you want a really fun evening with unbelievably good food and two wonderful hosts from whom you will learn something regardless of what your interest level in cooking is, this is THE place. Everyone in our party thought the evening was remarkable.

A little expensive but completely worth it! Bob and Lenore do not skimp on the portions, thankfully they had a box for our dessert because we were STUFFED afterwards, great environment, great staff, great food and wine! If you love cooking or just eating great food I would definitely recommend giving this a try!

My wife and I always attend a dinner show when we come to Cannon Beach, so we have attended many very tasty shows. Bob and Lenore are fun, insightful, and provide an enjoyable evening with fantastic food and wine. We most recently attended a Friday evening show in February 2016, Bob was flying solo, but the food and wine were superb. We started with a flavorful ribollita soup topped with mojo and salad frisse and a Neroni 2013 Chefs Blend Oregon White wine, followed with a Punto Final 2013 Reserve Malbec. Next we had a Cuban style flat bread with flank steak braised cuba vaca fritas and duck confit and slaw fennel savoy cabbage and pickled cherries paired with a 2012 Sineann Red Table Wine that was really good(think European table wine). For dessert, Lemon Olive Oil Cake with apple sorbet, coriander custard ice cream, fresh whipped cream, and Caffe Umbria Mezzanotte Decaf coffee. Excellent meal over a fast paced three hour show. When you visit Cannon Beach, you have to make this evening dinner experience part of your trip.

I would highly recommend this for a fun and special night. It cost us about $ 300 for two people for a dinner show. You pay in advance and that includes tip and a wine pairing with every course and coffee at the end. You have to make reservations, I would recommend a month in advance. When you call, they will want to know any foods you can’t eat, such as if you are vegetarian etc. There is a four course meal that they cook and serve in front of you. They teach the technique and about the ingredients as they go. They are a very nice and fun couple and interact a lot with the audience. The workers are helpful and friendly. Our dinner started at 6, ended about 9. It is a great, fun night, and worth the price.

As entertaining as it was good. We had been trying to do this for a long time, you have to book well in advance, and then we had to cancel because of the weather. We were finally able to reschedule, there were five in our group, and we had a ball. They really know how to work the crowd. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys good food, good wine, and a bit of theater. I am not a cook, but I do enjoy eating, and I enjoyed the Bob and Lenore show. Very fun.

I took my bestest and oldest friend here while visiting Cannon Beach. I knew very little about what to expect and was, truthfully a bit anxious it would be the right type of evening for two gals about town. I was worried about the quality of the evening, food, conversation. It is a bit pricey and I was worried about cost vs. quantity. I am an idiot. EVERYTHINGWASBEYONDFANTASTIC! I am dreaming and scheming about going back with my husband, with my neighbors, with people I meet on the street. First off, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and Bob and Lenore have hired three of the most amazing assistants who also work to make you feel welcome in their kitchen. Second, the amount of food with each course is not simply a taste, it is a Full Meal. Do Not eat lunch before arriving. Three full dinners, well timed intermissions, a spectacular dessert, teaching, serving their guests(even those with diet restrictions) seamlessly… the whole experience is worth every penny, every second. Go alone. Go with friends. Either way, it is a social dinner and you will have fun. I will be back.

Go for entertainment, not the food. We ate here while in Cannon beach because it had so many wonderful reviews. We were disappointed in the food. The service was very good and the hosts were very entertaining in their presentation. The one thing they did make that was good were the pasta noodles. The rest of the meal was fine, but not really that tasty or interesting. If you are looking for a «fun» experience you should consider going here, if you want«great» food, I’d pass.

I’m afraid I’m going to rain a little on the 5-star parade. We ate at EVOO on Saturday night during Labor Day weekend. The food is super, but unbalanced, and the teaching aspect of the show was very very minor. On our evening, they prepared 3 full-size entrees and one dessert. Sure, we ate every bit, but three entrees was heavy: shrimp with cheesy grits and fresh tomato salad, duck cassoulet with frisee and apple, and pork shoulder with escarole, kale and pasta. All very generous servings and excellent preparations. Lenore, while kindly, seemed unfocused and remarked several times about the menu choice they DIDN’T serve. Meanwhile, they said up front that the evening would be about«technique» rather than recipe. Fine. But afterward I was hard-pressed to recall a specific technique that was demonstrated or discussed. I finally came up with 1. layering the greens for cooking, 2. properly refrigerating roasted garlic and 3. tasting the salt level throughout the cooking process. In the background, one of the helpers could be seen rapidly slicing apples with a mandolin, and I would have loved to hear some tips on how not to slice off the end of your finger(again). They also served a garlic toast with the pork, and while they did talk about rubbing raw garlic on the bread, the bread itself was pre-grilled and I would have liked to know their technique for that. Long story short: A meal with appetizer, salad, entrée, dessert would have been more ideal than three big entrees, along with techniques relative to each course. Was it worth the price? Hmmmm. I’ll give it a conditional yes … I was glad they were not stingy with the wine pours and refills.

Fabulous food and wine, extraordinary learning experience. This was our second visit to EVOO. The evening is magical, a testament to what delicious food, thoughtfully and lovingly prepared, can create; it makes a group of strangers – the dining audience– into a community. You don’t just feel well fed at EVOO, you feel grateful to be alive. I am not overstating the effects of a meal by Bob and Leonore. Not to be missed.

Bob and Lenore are such lovely people. They made my husband’s and my 16th wedding anniversary extra special, and did an outstanding job of accommodating my dietary restrictions(no meat, no fish, no eggs, and no alcohol). I was blown away by the many appetizers, entrees, and non-alcoholic sparkling ‘wine’ that I was served. There was rich Caffe Umbria coffee at the end, to complement the outrageously delicious dessert of cinnamon puff pastry with fruit. It was one of the best overall dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was impeccable; the moment you’ve finished what’s on your plate or what’s in your glass, hands appear to provide replacements. With the whole thing being set up as a three-hour dinner show I was kept entertained, heard exciting stories about Bob and Lenore’s history, and got some great ideas for home cooking, I will always treasure my memories of this evening.

This is an intimate dinner prepared for you by an excellent CIA trained experienced chef right before your eyes. You feel like you are in his private kitchen, you kind of are, and everything is locally sourced and of excellent quality. This is a wonderful relaxing evening well worth the cost and an experience that cannot be equaled

Worth every penny and then some. Seriously. Great food without fancy boring fare. Real food and real wine(pairings). Educational without being pedantic. Quality ingredients down to the salt. Bob and Lenore also have a rapport that reminds me that there’s nobody better than your partner to have your back while navigating north coast gastronomy. Get the kids a pizza and head to EVOO with your person.

I don’t normally stop everything to write a review, but my experience was well worth it. I went to the Spring Unveiling cooking show and it was amazing. I was expecting more of a restaurant table setting with simple sampling of the cooked dishes, but instead received an intimate setting surrounding the chefs and full four courses. Bob and Lenore are the perfect pairing. Their team was on point. The atmosphere they created was very engaging. I’ll be recommending EVOO as often as possible, and I’ll absolutely be back. Thank you for the great time!!!

EVOO was fantastic. Quite possibly the best dinner experience I’ve ever had. The host and hostess Bob and Lenore were charming, as was the set up. The room and tables were both elegant, and intimate. The area where the dinner was located is all centered around the host and hostess, and their kitchen. Each course is prepared in front of the diners eyes, with great detail given as to what has /is going into the dishes. Bob and Lenore’s assistants did a wonderful job of helping with each course, and catering to our every need. Each course was superb. Fresh, expertly prepared, and paired with excellent wines. On the other side of the kitchen is a gift shop with all kinds of fun gadgets, spices, wines, books and other goodies. We will be taking future trips to Cannon Beach, specifically so we can return, and have another dinner EVOO. Such a special, and unique experience.

We did this for a late Valentine’s Day celebration. My husband was a little upset when he found out how much it cost, but afterwards he said it was well worth it. Very fun and delicious evening. Bob and Lenore are great hosts. Would love to come again sometime.

Sorry, but I have to write another 5 star review for this place. It was great. This is not your average experience. Imagine that you’ve got the Food Network on where some chefs are cooking and showing you how they’re making you a meal. But you’re there and you eat it. That’s what Evoo is basically like. I know what you’re thinking: a show? Really? Cheese-tastic. That was my worry. And yet, it really wasn’t like that. I expected some super-corny banter. But that’s not the experience. Bob did most of the talking. There was some joking around here and there, but he’s no clown. He’s serious about cooking and teaching. He just does it in a fun way. I was also a bit worried that it wouldn’t be particularly useful for someone like me – a pretty seasoned cook. And I won’t lie: much of what was done and said wasn’t new to me. But I’m the sort of person that makes dinner from scratch most nights per week, including things as insane as making my own pasta dough almost weekly. But even for a pretty avid amateur chef, I learned a thing or two. For me, it was about technique and tips. We talked about topics ranging for knife sharpening to meat temperatures. So unless you’re Mario Batali, you’ll probably learn something — or just find it fun. After all, if you love cooking and food, then it’s a sort of perfect immersive experience. Another fear was that they were making a set menu, which might not be able to accommodate dietary restrictions. But they really bent over backwards to work with such issues. In my example, my wife was pregnant. They went so far as to have three different bottles of grape juice since she couldn’t enjoy the wine paring — just for her. They also made sure she had a more well-done piece of meat and no aioli(which contains raw egg). Given that they’re so busy preparing so much food real-time, it’s quite an impressive effort. And 3 hours — seems like an awful long time, right? But it flies by! The cooking portion is fun to watch and participate in as the audience and in between you’re chowing down. Finally, the cost. It is $ 130 per person. That’s a lot by any standard. But I really feel like it was worth the price. You get a truly enormous amount of excellent food — pretty much all locally sourced. They even make their own sea salt from off the Oregon coast. And then there’s the entertainment and education. So I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in town and feel like you might like it. We were definitely glad we went — and would consider going again next time we’re in town!

Food is a conversation. It can all be in your mind, but usually it improves with company. And some of these conversations are deeper and more informed than others. EVOO was one of the best conversations I’ve had in recent memory. EVOO is a cooking school so there is a display kitchen with 12 seats around the cooking area and then a few elevated tables behind. Most of the returning customers snagged the front row seats, but I really didn’t mind being in the back row. Really, there are no bad seats. The head chef, Bob, is a showman and does a nice job balancing tips and tricks with funny observations. At my dinner there were several wine brokers in attendance so they also joined in the conversation by introducing the wines that accompanied each course. I assumed that the 4-course meal would be an appetizer, soup or salad, entrée and dessert. It was actually three entrees and a dessert. So I can’t imagine anyone would go home hungry. I’m not a heavy drinker, so I was also served enough wine, but I wouldn’t go with the expectation that you’ll get buzzed. Based on one of the other reviews, I was expecting a bad Catskills comedy routine, but I thought the banter between chefs was just fine. A few other things that are important to know. The dinner lasted almost three hours. For me, it flew by, but I know that for some it would be a little much. I also would not recommend this experience for children, although an extremely well behaved girl of about 10 was at the dinner. Instead of wine, they served her different flavors of sparkling cider with each course. They are set up to make the meals vegetarian friendly, just tell them in advance. However, they are not set up to accommodate vegan diners. The chef was vegan for a bit and just said it is too hard to make all the appropriate substitutions in this kind of setting. Reservations are essential and you can review the menu in advance on-line to make sure the current fixed menu is one you’ll enjoy. Our first course was pan-fried Willapa oysters, followed by duck with a margarita salad(really) and the final entrée was prime rib. For dessert, a pumpkin pine nut tart with Pepitos brittle that puts your basic pumpkin pie to shame. This meal was a part of my birthday celebration so my dessert was presented with a long candle that the chef lit with a blowtorch. Simple matches just won’t do. All in all, an excellent evening with fine food and wine and a little education thrown in. While it is too expensive for your average dinner on the coast, if you love to talk about food, this is a really nice option for a special occasion.
