Toula’s Bridal & Formal Wear

I had called a few weeks prior in attempt to find a handful of gowns to try on. My schedule finally lines up with their hours so I made an «appointment» to come in. Turns out not one gown I was looking for was in stock. I said I was looking for a blush pink gown and the owner started pulling all her ugly on sale 90’s prom looking gowns. She kept saying how pretty it was trying to get me to agree and I finally said it looked like an outdated prom gown to me. She got defensive that it was indeed a wedding gown. Finally they left me alone to try to find the gowns I liked no labels no tags saying what options were if I ordered I gown. J showed them pictures of gowns I had tried on or what too. They spent no time finding what they had similar they just told me to call then when I was ready to order that they would give me a cheaper price and free alterations. Based on how I was treated and unorganized they were it’s not worth saving 200 bucks and having alterations for free to give them my business. Also I wasted a half tank of gas and an hour drive both ways for them to waste 1 1 – 2 of my time.

Okay, let me first say that I am super fussy about excellent customer service. It’d better be a 12 on a 10 scale, or I’m unimpressed.
This is my second time shopping at Toula’s for a Hollywood red-​carpet quality prom gown for my daughter. In 2012, we called ahead and asked if they had a specific gown and they had the exact one in the exact color and size. This year again, we drove nearly 5 hours roundtrip from way west of Cleveland just to shop here, because last year’s experience was so great: 2013 was no exception. Toula and her staff did NOT disappoint! They are awesome!
The selection was plenty and the customer service was excellent, despite it being packed with other moms/​daughters hunting and parading through the place in prom gowns on a very busy Saturday. After discovering the perfect gown, we found that it wasn’t the perfect fit (much like last year — my daughter’s a 2 in the hips, but more like a 0 on top) and it had an unfinished bottom hem on the train for some reason — Toula immediately assessed what needed to be tailored, pinned it up and promised it for the following weekend. NO CHARGE — those alterations were part of the deal: WHERE does THAT ever happen?
We made our fairly substantial purchase with an incredible pair of perfectly matching shoes and went on our merry way, happy as clams.
The following week I didn’t want to spend another 5 hours driving out, so I called them and asked if it was possible to just go ahead and ship it (someone mentioned that when we were there) — and they were so accommodating — they SHIPPED the dress to me! It arrived in perfect order.

We LOVE Toula’s!

I love Toula’s! I got fantastic service and personal attention, way more than most stores I went to. The women are so sweet. I purchased the floor model do my dress at a discount, and alterations were included! That’s unheard! Most places charge hundreds of dollars for alterations.

Sigh. Apparently in order to get any kind of attention from the people that work here you should bring small children and an entourage.
I stood 3 feet in front of the employee working the front counter and she never acknowledged me much less assisted me.
I wandered through the very large store (65% prom/​pageant dresses) until I found the bridal section. As I walked in I passed a very small Greek woman, I’m assuming it was Toula. She didn’t speak to me.
I wandered around the bridal area for about five minutes, lapping the center round rack 3 times passing Toula twice and was never, ever, ever spoken to. Ever. The tiny children running around and generally being in the way got more attention than I.
Just another example of an Ohio business that hates money. If you don’t talk to your customers they aren’t going to patronize your business.
They had some beautiful dresses and a large selection, just be sure you have lots and lots of people with you.
