A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Nice atmosphere, super fresh and natural food and drinks.

The bartender, Sidney was very personable. The bison burger was well talked about while I was here. I decided to order it! Amazing! Exactly how they described it. This restaurant is well deserved a second visit.

Very good little place to grab a beer and bison burger! My wife really liked her veggie sandwich and Brussels sprouts. Also a health food/vitamin store with bottles of wine for sale. I will be back to have one of the several local beers on tap! Outside seating on sidewalk/patio is nice too.

Everytime I go I try something new and it doesn’t disappoint. The service is slow but polite and worth the wait

Always a great experience. Their inventive, fresh, and light menu pairs well with their outstanding handmade ginger ales – my absolute favorite. Service is attentive and courteous, as well. The prices are also pretty good for the fare. A hidden gem for sure.

I love this place. Lots of organic and wheat free options. Fresh and local organic meat. Adorable setting, professional servers. Love the herb shop attached.

I found the servers to be a little overly nice and after reading some reviews after my visit they must be trying to correct the poor service stigma ASAP. One issue we did have was asking two times for a side of over-easy eggs. After they finally arrived one was overcooked. And with two eggs costing $ 2.25 there’s no excuse for any of that. With that strike out of the way, let’s move on. Their $ 7.25 Bloody Mary was pretty good-3 our of 5 stars. I hate it when places put a gigantic piece of celery in them. For that price perhaps a small antipasto skewer. The Heavenly Hotcakes were perfect. It’s hard to mess up pancakes with lemon-ricotta in them. The Breakfast Burrito was very good. The roasted garlic aioli really brought this together. They have some vegan friendly menu options, nice cocktails and also several Ohio beers on draft. Plus a small bar you can enjoy them at. I got the Jackie O’s IPA for dessert. For the area, this place is a god send. As a destination from Columbus, sure, have at it. Roughly takes on average 25 minutes to get here. Do some light antiquing, grab a Fantasy Cupcake for a treat and hop over to Buckeye Lake to check out their winery and brewery.

As a local restaurant Half Moon Café offers not your standard small town cuisine but rather offers fresh and locally sourced food. Trust me it’s very good but the pricing and lack of coordination between the kitchen and wait staff will have you quite literally waiting and waiting. Today isn’t an isolated incident my order after waiting nearly 25 minutes was never even placed. The staff is nice but this common issues with order accuracy and wait times are of major issue here. Beware if you’re looking for a smooth dining experience. But the food is Good

Very good«natural» food. The Hummus & olive with pita appetizer was great. My wife and I each had one of their signature Bison burgers that were very good. Better than expected. The service is excellent. We will definitely return and try dinner. Highly recommend. Especially if you are food healthy conscious.

I’m giving this three stars because of the service. I’ve never written a bad review on a business because I know mistakes happen. I’ve been going there for years since I moved to Columbus. The last time I went, I was made to feel very uncomfortable by the manager. She was very rude in her approach as she explained the ordering process, so much to the point that I had to leave. I’ll go in to order my food but I won’t sit to eat anymore and get stares all day from her. This was my first time ordering a meat item so make sure you explain how you really want your meat/burger if you don’t want your burger coming out pink. Other than that, Food is great, vegan/vegetarian option, owners are awesome, it’s just horrible service from the manager.

This place is either perfectly fine, or a miss. Unfortunately usually a miss. People around here rave about it, probably because we only have 3 restaurant options in downtown Canal Winchester and it’s the only place to grab a smoothie, coffee, or a non-greasy breakfast or a healthy-ish lunch. The problem I find is Harvest Moon is never consistent with either service or food, so it’s a gamble each time you go. I’ve been here with a group and it took forever to get our orders out and most of them were wrong, but just the other night, we had an awesome experience on the patio with a waiter named Jared who kept the beer flowing and made sure we were taken care of. He was super nice and personable. I’ve been here where several items on the menu are out, the meat is dry, the service staff looks at you when you walk in but no one greets you for 15 minutes, etc., but another time we had the best experience talking with one of the bartenders and had the best appetizer(the bison trio) that paired perfectly with our beer choice on his recommendation. Like I said, it’s fine, or a miss. I just wish they would pick one and stick to it! :) Their happy hour prices are also lacking. Not a great deal as there are usually only two appetizers that are priced for happy hour, and $ 1 off of beer and cocktails make them only slightly too expensive instead of astronomical for little downtown Canal Winchester.

Pretty solid cocktails. Came here on a whim but it’s better than expected. The Oddfellow(bourbon, mint, lime, ginger syrup) is refreshing on a warm day nice patio. Reluctant to give 5 star, service isn’t awesome. Younger girls serving and don’t seem to know the menu at all. Some gentlemen were requesting some kind of bread to snack on with beers, the girl was highly confused and had to go ask someone inside about it. Just funny. Bar took a while to prepare the drink too, but they weren’t busy at all. Solid cocktails though.

I’m really intrigued by some of the not-great reviews of this restaurant. Is the service so inconsistent? We walked into a space that wasn’t «dirty and dingy» but gorgeous and completely on-trend for a farm-to-table kind of atmosphere. Our server was friendly and really helpful, giving us suggestions and explaining things as needed. My bison burger was delish and actually mostly cooked well; my companion’s burger was almost raw, so yeah, there’s a lot of inconsistency with burger doneness that needs to be addressed. The flavors all worked together well and I appreciated the attention to detail quite a lot: the fries, for example, were just as good as the burger(bad fries can be SUCH a letdown), and the iced tea was really good. The server offered me an iced tea to go, which was very considerate. I felt the menu was put together pretty well and everything looked tasty. The only thing that confused me was the prevalence of turkey bacon instead of bacon-bacon; the health benefits of slapping turkey bacon on a burger that is covered in aioli and a fried egg and cheese probably aren’t that amazing. The turkey bacon was OKAY(actually, for turkey bacon it was pretty good tbh) but not as good as actual bacon would have been. .. but I wasn’t going to pay $ 1.25 to upcharge when I already had bacon on my burger. I can also see how some people thought the service was maybe less good. While our server was mostly pretty great, she did kind of forget about us halfway through our meal as we sat with no water. We drink a lot of water at dinner so, it would have been nice to have refills. The café has a small shop attached that has a lot of specialty goods: gluten-free items and what I fondly think of as «hippie food.» Great tea section and some bulk spices. Some of the coolers are marked«CAFEONLY» which is a little unprofessional and confusing, but hey. So, I feel like they have a few things to get together, but they’re heading in the right direction. I’d come back for sure.

I have long wanted to come here and try. And so I brought my crew for breakfast. I think it is a great restaurant serving good food. Because I make my own coffee, I can say that I won’t be coming here for specialty coffee, however for breakfast I will certainly do. I don’t understand the low rating of this place. We were served well and we liked the food we had for breakfast. For me what matters when we went there was I liked the food I’m served(although I don’t think its extraordinary) and I like the service I received.

Have now been to Harvest Moon a little more than a handful of times. Have done breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never had a bad thing. Yes, you will wait a little longer on your food than normal but you get that with a scratch kitchen and it is totally worth it. The desserts are delicious too! The only gripe I have is that they only have one high chair for kiddos and we had to go elsewhere for dinner one time and on another visit, we passed our son around between us and his grandparents, so we could take turns eating, since the high chair was already in use. I know the place is not big but the fact that we have now been without a high chair on two occasions because it was being used, I wish they would order 1 or 2 more. Other than that, staff has always been friendly and fantastic and food is always delicious!

I love the Harvest Moon café! The food is so good! The buffalo burger is the best I have ever eaten. Smoothies are delicious! The staff is fun and it’s a great date night place to hang out. I have to get back there for sweet potato hash! :)

A gem outside of Columbus and totally worth it. I’ve been there for breakfast and lunch a couple times. The French toast was amazing but my favorite thing on the menu to date(that I’ve tried, of course) is the pear salad. On a nice day, take a little walk around downtown Canal Winchester. Cute little town with an old train station. Looking forward to returning for some cocktails and live music soon.

I love this place! I’ve been here a few times, and the food is delicious. The staff is friendly, helpful and more than accommodating. They offer selections and substitutions for restricted diets. There is a small«health food store» next to the bar. Oh yeah, did I mention there is a bar? And baristas? I just ordered a latte and it’s giving me my groove back. I haven’t eaten anything bad yet. Everything has been delicious… I’ll repost if that changes.
