Somedays you wake up and just want a certain food. Then, if you’re anything like me, you sit at your desk all morning thinking about that food. Mm… finally lunch time comes and it’s almost like being released from school for the last day before summer. You run and grab the food you’ve been thinking of and amazing things amazing!!! Right?! Well today that was me with falafel. Mmm… I wanted it so bad i could taste it all morning and secretly watched the clock until I could go get some. I looked up reviews for different places and picked Yiasso based on the good Unilocal reviews. In hindsight it appears the reviews are for their meat plates… I should have picked up on that before I went. I called in my order: falafel plate with fries and salad, side of hummus and baklava. Service was friendly enough when I went to pick it up and the restaurant smelled of delicious meats cook(probably should have taken this as a sign that I should have ordered meat.) I scooped up my order and took it back to my desk ready to start my love affair with my falafel plate. Love affair it was anything but. Worse than you first hook up in jr high with all the awkwardness of not knowing what is supposed to happen and desperately trying to reenact what you’ve seen in the movies only to look like a dog who is dry humping while having a seizure. The falafel was the worst I’ve ever had. It was so dry that I had to fill up my water bottle multiple times just to swallow it down. I’m glad i ordered the side of hummus to dunk my falafel in but even the hummus couldn’t save it. I was so sad i wanted to cry but at work: none cries!!! So after two falafel balls I gave up and threw it away. I moved on to my salad that consisted mainly of over ripe tomatoes that fell apart before I could even spear them with my fork, a few slices of cucumber, two olives and feta. The over ripe tomatoes killed the entire salad and left everything tasting like a liquid mess on the brink of converting to mold. The saving grace of the meal was the baklava which was done nicely!!! So glad I ordered the baklava or I may find myself trying to salvage the uneatable falafel from the trash when I get hungry later this afternoon. All in all I was disappointed. All this cost me around $ 18 but worse than the money lost is my excitement for having yummy, moist, well seasoned falafel. I willt ry this place again but only if i order a meat dish. It looks like they have their meat locked down. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from the falafel.

I come here all the time for lunch. It reminds me of my trip to Greece :-) The food is good, and wait time for food is short. Parking is usually available and it has the feel of a small business establishment, which I like.
