Hadn’t been to the Kendall/MIT area before in years, so I wasn’t familiar with anything when I went into Sebastian’s. I immediately noticed that they had crepes(which I love) that they made to order. The first time I came to Sebastian’s(5÷24÷16), I ordered the turkey and cheese, the second time(6÷23÷16) I got the chicken cordon blue. Both were absolutely FANTASTIC. I could just feel my day getting better as I ate them. The crepes are $ 8.25 each before tax. I feel like for Cambridge that’s a pretty average price, but pricy in general. I will say though that the crêpe was large and very filling, and also that I can’t wait to come back to have another. The restaurant in general is very casual with lots of natural lighting and a huge selection of different kinds of food. I would recommend bringing your own drink though as they severely overcharge for the bottled drinks they sell. The employees are generally friendly and the restaurant is clean with lots of seating. Now my goal is to get here early enough to try the breakfast crepes…

Nice on-the-go lunch spot. Seems always to be busy. Sandwiches are great. Line moves quickly. Only points off for the horrible service at the registers. The attendants don’t greet you or even manage a smile. Your job could be replaced by a robot tomorrow so start acting like you have some human emotion to contribute.

The sandwiches there are definitely way better than any other cafes within one mile radius. I like the variety of the spreads, toppings, and the breads(Iggy’s), and you can have it toasted without extra charge(compared to another one of my favorite café which charges 50c extra for having your sandwich toasted and would increase the wait time by another 10 minutes!). The staff working at the sandwich counter are also kind and friendly. Wouldn’t recommend the pasta though.

It’s not very clean, they charge you 10 cents for a bag, the cashiers could be a lot friendlier to the customers. Manager may want to consider customer service training sessions for the staff here! Is this really a Fidelity company?

Good option for a quick work-day lunch. They have different stations for sandwiches, pastas, salads, and soups and a good number of tables if you want to dine-in. The people who work there are very efficient and I’m usually in and out in less than 10 – 15 minutes during lunch rush hour. The prices are on par for Kendall Square and the portions are filling. Decent lunch spot.

Food is ok and definitely expensive for the quality and amount of food you get. I had the BLTT and substituted with mayo. was good but not the healthiest lunch options I’m taking one star off because the woman at the cashier is extremely rude. I asked about their lunch combo, she said you have a full sandwich — that’s a full sandwich! I said, yes I know but I asked if the combo is half sandwich and she said yes. I would avoid going there in the future. She needs to know that she is in a service industry.

Sebastian’s Café has a similar setup as an Au Bön Pain. They are a café that serve breakfast items, sandwiches, noodle /rice bowls, crepes, salads, and soups. Personally, haven’t tried their food yet. For beverages, they have different types of coffees and teas(e.g., Republic of Tea brand). For the teas, they give you hot water but you have to use a tong to get the tea bags. My favorite teas are The People’s Green and Ginger Peach. It’s a quiet place to study /work. They have nice, light music playing in the background. However, I feel that they don’t have enough electrical outlet to use a laptop. There are about three sets of plugs, all of which are the most popular areas of the café and are near the trash and recycle bins.

The button mushroom with swiss cheese crêpe(nearly 8 $ with tax) was kind of gross. At first, I thought it might just be disappointing because it was pretty bland, but by the end, I realized that it made my stomach extremely upset. I couldn’t bring myself to finish the last few bites of it, and I left still starving and with an upset stomach. I think the overwhelming cheap cheese flavor combined with the slightly sweet crêpe was not a good choice. Even if I had finished it, I don’t think it was a reasonable amount of food for 8 $ in the area. It was definitely an amount I’d categorize as «snack» or «light lunch» rather than«lunch.»(The price was about what I’d normally pay for a lunch in the area.)

The service is terrible. They are extremely slow, almost to the point you think it is deliberate, plus you can tell they would rather be anywhere but behind the counter. The food is overpriced and bland. I ordered the Thai curry rice bowl with vegetables. The curry was so watered down you could hardly taste it. A rice bowl and tea to go was $ 12. I think this place only survives because lunch food options in this part of Cambridge(MIT Campus) are limited. It is worth it to take the short hike to Kendall Sq for the other food options available.

I enjoyed this place alright, but I certainly could have gotten more band for my buck somewhere else. My sandwich was on rosemary foccaccia(pretty good) and featured roast beef(mediocre) provolone(A-OK), lettuce and tomato(average). The tomato aioli they used stole the show, and may be the single reason I come back again. For a decent-sized sandwich I paid $ 7.86. Not bad, but there are better places around, so I don’t think I’ll be back soon unless there are few alternatives.

I really enjoyed this place! My friend and I ate here last week. We had a sandwich, the New England Clam Chowder, and a pasta. I love how customizable everything is! I made my pasta with zucchini, bacon, spinach, and mozzarella, but you can pretty much put whatever you want in it. The vodka sauce and the orecchiette(the«little ears» pasta) tasted great. My friend really enjoyed her sandwich and the clam chowder was pretty good too. Overall I wasn’t disappointed at all with the pricing because everything tasted sooooo good and seemed so fresh. The lady who made my pasta was really friendly and incredibly efficient, she went through three people’s orders in under a minute. The woman who checked me out was less friendly, but overall service there was good :) There’s a really nice Asian woman working there, her smile really brightened up my day! This place was pretty busy – I think that’s a good indication that the food is good. I really, really recommend the pasta. I’ll definitely be returning when I move to Boston in the fall.

I come here often because its near my work. The pasta bowls are very good and the rice/noodle bowls are ok. Sandwich’s and Crepes are decent too(though I wish they had whipped cream) .Gelato is not so great and the coffee leaves a lot to be desired. They also have a grab and go section with boiled eggs, premade salads, hummus and fruit bowls I don’t feel it is more expensive then any other restaurant/lunch place in this area. I give it 4 stars, because the food is very good for this area of town.

Made my own sandwich for the first time — decent! Comes out to $ 7.44 for the basic. I did rosemary focaccia with tomatoes, mozzarella, red onion, basil, on the roasted garlic sauce. Get the sandwich toasted! The focaccia itself was pretty good, they put a solid amount of each topping in, but I didn’t really like the sauce much. Not a bad option. Sandwiches are decently sized. Still a place to go to if you just feel so eh about everything else.

As everyone else has said, most of their food is overpriced and not that great. I think the noodle bowls are especially awful and that the sandwiches are pretty hit-or-miss. The crepes are the only food that tastes pretty good, and that’s really the only reason I ever go to Sebastians anymore. And I only go after 4pm, when the price is reduced. Despite the mediocre food, it’s somehow really crowded during peak lunch hours(though this may start changing, as more and more lunch options are starting to appear around the MIT area). So I’ll avoid the place during peak hours, but during off-peak hours, the service is still slow. Often times, I’ll have to wait 5 minutes for the cashier to show up.

Overpriced and bland. The only reason why they make any money is that there are not many options around this area, especially after 2PM. The only thing of decent value is getting the pasta after 4PM when it’s reduced to $ 6.50. Although today I tried to get it at 3:58 and the unfriendly lady at the counter told me it wasn’t 4 yet so I couldn’t get the discount. Since no one else was in line, I took two steps back and we stared at each other for 2 minutes before I tried to pay for it again and got the discount. Really??? Luckily a few more eateries are moving into the new Broad building and I will for sure boycott Sebastian’s forever once those open up.

I had the French Roll Roaster sandwich. Really good. It had this herb cheese spread instead of mustard or mayo. I found this place to be fresh and innovative. Great place for lunch.

alright… i’m sitting at my desk eating a salad that was built to order and it is extremely delicious. It is big, it is beautiful, and I am loving it. Sure it cost 11bucks,(2ish of that is the added chicken, but really it is very much worth it. The lettuce is cold, the toppings are room temperature and all the lettuce is super fresh. The other cheaper salad bar options in the area often run out of chicken and or toppings… this place always has it stocked. I’m on a salad kick and love this one very much.

Yum! I like this place for many reasons: the options, the fresh food, made to order, the amount of seating, the crepes(You really can’t beat a Chicken Cordon Bleu Crêpe). On the flip side, it is a bit pricey and sometimes you just want a set menu. I do not want to have to decide what will be in my salad or in my pasta. Quite honestly, if I wanted to make those types of decisions, I would go to the grocery store, buy the ingredients and make it myself. I want a defined list of interesting options then I pick one. The sandwich and crêpe sections have set combinations; this is what makes them great and the only sections that I visit when I get lunch here. The lines in these sections might look long, but move fast. I would like to try some breakfast sometime– looks like it has potential for breakfast greatness.
