The lunch specials here are great. I came in on Sunday, place was quiet. I ordered the three roll lunch special, a green tea, and it came with miso soup. All of that for $ 15(before tip.) I had the Philadelphia maki, Spicy Salmon maki, & Spicy Tuna maki. All of them were excellent, & good sized rolls, too. Such a great deal! service was great. A quick, easy lunch spot. 5 stars for sure.

I enjoy mostly everything they make. The sushi is meh, but I very much enjoy the wings. Biggest complaint: They’ve never delivered anything to me in the time frame they say they will. They typically say 45 – 60 minutes. It’s rarely less than 70 minutes, and at least 3 times, it’s been over 90 minutes. The order I’m waiting on as I type this review is the last time I place an order here.

This review is judging my experience from 3 months ago: Ok firstly can I just say that the menu was super confusing! I didn’t know what the front or the back was of it! LIKEWHATNO I DONTLIKETHAT. It made me feel dumb and silly– no restaurant should make you feel that way. Also, there was a hair on my fork which wasn’t mine #ew, and there was another hair on a carrot that I was eating #GetSomeHygiene !!! Like what is this sorcery!!! However, the edemamme beans were decent, but the portions were tinier than the waiters brain!!! So I had to get 2 orders of edemamme beans to fulfill my stomach’s needs. The sushi was also decent– not much to say there. OMGCAN I JUSTSAYTHATTHEREWASANANTCRAWLINGNEXTTOMYFOOTAND I ALMOSTSCREAMED. It was a very traumatic experience even if the food was slightly ok. Thanks for reading homies xoxoxoxoxox

Been coming here for a while now. Local place with good food but lately the prices are higher yet the quality hasn’t changed. They charge way to much for chicken wings and their portions just aren’t that large The drinks are super expensive as well. I wish they’d take a better look at their menu prices all around

This is our go-to place for sushi. They’ve never disappointed and it’s always delicious! We get the salmon lovers almost every time plus a few other rolls. The staff are very friendly and one server recognizes us when we come in now and always says hello, so it’s a warm, friendly neighborhood haunt. They aren’t doing super experimental things with their sushi like some other places, but getting the classics right is usually more important to me than trying new exotic combinations. We’ve got a friend that visits from out of town periodically and she always wants to go get a salmon lovers at Ginger Exchange, so we’re not the only ones who love it!

Don’t ever order from this place. For starters it’s not authentic Asian cuisine. The Korean WOW wings were a disgusting disappointment. They weren’t fully cooked and nothing like the Bön Chon chicken wings. I’m not even certain it was chicken. The sushi(something told me not to order sushi from this place) the fish was like from a can. It was all mushy and again a challenge to identify what it was actually made of. I feel so sick right now. I wish I never ordered from this place. To make matters worse when I called the place to let them know what happened the manager was very defensive and kept rudely talking over me instead of letting me explain –what he already knew– their food is trash. The place is a dump and should be shut down.

I have been here several times not only because it is conveniently close, but the food is reasonably priced and good. Some of my favs are the Korean wings and shrimp tempura. They have a varied sushi selection to choose from and other different types of Asian food. Service is great as well!

Best wings in Cambridge! Sushi isn’t bad either. Their noodle dishes aren’t great but not bad.

Generally I come here for lunch a few times a month. Great lunch deals on sushi combos. I’ve had most of the sushi, noodles, and miso soup… all great. It’s ready fairly quickly, and the staff is always super-friendly. Never had a bad experience.

Mediocre! My husband and I had dinner here but the food are horrible. We ordered the WOW! Wings for appetizer, the wings are tolerable, we had the Soy Garlic and the Spicy flavors, they are ok but much rather eat it at Bonchon in Allston/Brighton. For sushi, we had an order of Double Spicy Salmon roll. It is not something fresh that I’m used to, was something I’m able to swallow. However, when it comes to our main dishes, it was horrible, no matter how hard I try, telling myself not to waste food and not waste the money, still, I could not swallow the food. I had ordered Mee Goreng Beef and my husband ordered Exchanged Noodles Soup – Ramen was the choice of noodle. First of, I have eaten Mee Goreng at so many places that I couldn’t count but the Mee Goreng at The Ginger Exchange tastes nothing like any Asian dish I have eaten, it tasted like ketchup and soy sauce mixed together with ground beef and snap peas. The worst part was the noodles, the noodles was actually lo-mein instead of authentic noodles for Mee Goreng. My husband’s dish was a major disappointment as well. Their signature dish and they can’t even make it decent. The Exchange Noodle Soup tasted like instant noodles in chicken soup stock, it was terrible. Sadly to say that this place has nothing authentic and it was a disappointment for our dinner out. We were highly dissatisfied.

Very tasty noode dish and bimbimbap, and very good service. But the dishes were a bit too salty and sweet.

Food court Asian food at restaurant prices. Unbelievably meh. Boring dishes, cheap ingredients, Bare minimum service but at stupidly ridiculous prices. I’ve given this place multiple chances and every time they disappoint. The only thing I’ve found to be good quality is their fried chicken. Avoid.

My friends and I have been going on a trivia«world» tour as we try to find the best trivia spot in NYC. But recently I visited Boston to try out a new provider, Pop Quiz Team Trivia, over at Ginger Exchange. In the hierarchy of trivia providers I like Trivia NYC and NYC Trivia League the most, but place Pop Quiz Team Trivia over Stump Trivia. Trivia there takes place Fridays from roughly 10:15pm-12:15am. The question format is a lot like Stump — for each round you hear the topics ahead of time, and you can allot a set number of points to the questions(4 – 5 questions/round). At the end of each round there’s a «bonus» question where you can score a lot of points by either listing something or having a question where you can wage even a larger number of points. I’m not a fan of the slower-paced questions(it goes question /song /question /song), but I do like how the song played right after a question is typically some clue relating to the answer. The clue isn’t always obvious, but if you’re familiar with the song it can prove very helpful. So if you have to name the four-letter musician name of Tracy Lauren Marrow you may not know who it is until you hear the Law & Order theme song(L&O = SVU = one of the SVU cast members has T in his name = Ice-T). This is a clever spin on things. However, since questions aren’t evenly weighted your performance can vary widely throughout the night. You can be behind but be lucky when you happen to land upon the right wager at the right time. Similarly, if the one question you happen to know can give you 20 points it’ll help you a lot more than the one that gives you only 8. It doesn’t jive right to me that a team can be comfortably in first going into the last round, but if you don’t know the 20-point question you can easily fall behind then flop in the rankings for the night. Additionally, the most important thing to know for this format might actually be music — not only can that be a question topic, but being able to identify the song clues would be substantially more useful than knowing let’s say geography or history. As for the bar itself, the server was very friendly and attentive, drinks were very cheap(the most affordable being a $ 2PBR), and the $ 10.50 soup dish I had was okay. The phở noodles were surprisingly tasty since they absorbed the broth well, but the chicken broth itself had its flavor driven more by saltiness than really anything else. It also wasn’t that filling to the point where myself and my friend who ordered another dish were both hungry again in a few hours. Overall the format is mixed and the bar experience itself was okay. But hey, it’s trivia on a Friday night, so you can’t be too picky, right?

Way too sweet. Very Americanized Chinese dish indeed. But I enjoy eating the sides of my Kung Pao chicken.

I agree with the other Unilocalers that say this place sucks! The food was bland– and I ordered curry. I can make curry by myself so it’s really not that hard to have enough flavor/spice. We also got another rice dish and there was way too much rice/not enough meat. Also, there are WAY cheaper places with WAY better food. Not worth going here.

All of the food we ordered was delicious! We ordered the wings which aren’t Like your typical wings, these are crunchy. I ordered the Korean beef which was ok. My husband ordered the ramen which was really good and our niece ordered the teriyaki chicken which was also good. The service was attentive and prompt. The young waitress was also serving as the bar tender and made my dirty martini so that it was lemony!!! Felt bad and it wasn’t terrible(just not what I ordered) so I let it slide and just drank it LOL! There isn’t parking so walk, take the T, or be prepared to hunt for a on street spot.

Not totally getting the relative Unilocal-hate for this restaurant. While I’m certainly no authority when it comes to Asian cuisine, I’ve found the items I’ve tried here – noodle dishes, spring rolls, crab rangoons, salads, Thai iced tea– all to be pretty tasty. The Inman(Peanutty) Pad Thai stands out as a favorite. Be sure to come for lunch, when you get to choose two free sides to go along with your already generously-portioned dish. The reason I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars is the service – while it’s not necessarily poor, it’s rather aloof. It’s just… not that friendly. I’ve never been to Ginger Exchange when it’s fully loaded with customers, so not to be very attentively waited on by our server always seems a bit odd. I feel as if most of the people who work here spend most of their time chatting with one another. Huh.

We definitely would not come back here. The food was okay nothing special. We ordered the chicken teriyaki(which tasted very similar to Sakura’s mall food court chicken teriyaki) and the udon noddles with ginger chicken which was mediocre at best. There was no host here so to get seated took forever. Every time I turned around to look at the entrance of the restaurant, it seemed like there was always a line of people waiting to get seated. Our waitress was nice and was doing her best to provide good service since she had no other help on the floor. This restaurant needs better tasting food and more employees.
