Eagle’s Nest Bar & Grill

The River Marsh’s 19^th hole (Eagle’s Nest) has changed their dinner format from Italian last year to a Gastro Pub this year. My husband and I were golfing last weekend and stopped in for an after round drink. We found out they serve a gastro dinner and were intrigued by the menu so cleaned up and came back for dinner. It was fantastic. This is a quiet gem that the resort needs to advertise more widely. The chef here, Hafid, is a serious find. The menu boasted a wide selection including Truffle Deviled eggs, Pork Belly Tacos, Lamb burger and a braised short rib that is probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Our host, Tyler an intern/​summer hire from VA Tech’s Food and Beverage degree program, was very polite and eager to have us appreciate the food being prepared. He remarked that the restaurant was trying to attract the educated diner — with more advertisement and some well placed reviews on social media they will get their wish. I highly recommend you visit this location, especially if you’re staying at the adjoining Hyatt Regency resort. It’s only a few short steps and well worth it. You don’t have to be staying at the resort to dine here so don’t be afraid to venture off the main Cambridge restaurant ‘row’ and try the menu. You won’t be disappointed.

Try the chili, very good, meaty and large at a very reasonable price. I found the service to be very good (The bartender was the waiter) Very clean rest rooms and plenty fo free parking.

Eagle’s Nest Bar & Grill is located at the Golf Center at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina. When you enter the property it is inside the first building on the right next to the golf pro shop. A bright and sunny bar and grill with high ceilings offering traditional American food such as hamburgers and hot dogs. There is a large bar also. The food is good, but service can be very slow… I recently ordered a hot dog and it took over twenty minutes!!! The give you a bowl of free popcorn when you sit down though to stem the hunger pangs.
