OutBack Trail Rides

We went on beach ride with or 16 year old twins and a 18 year old. We all loved it and liked not being on a trail where you have to follow in a line. It was a beautiful day. My only gripe and reason for four stars is that they told us not to take pictures and just tell them when we wanted a pic and they would take it and forward to us. It’s 7:16 and we went at 1:00 and no pictures sent yet. I’m glad at the end I asked if they would use my camera. Thank goodness I have that shot. Sad I didn’t get the other pics.

Our family went for a ride at Calcareous Vineyards. Mick and Crystal were fantastic. They took their time, making sure the kids were comfortable on their horses. The scenery thru the mountains was beautiful and so peaceful. Highly recommended!

Outback Trail rides was fantastic. The tour they have set up to ride through the vineyards and ultimately finish at a beautiful winery is incredible. Mick was our guide and made the entire experience a pleasure. We have ridden horses all over with many different outfits and this was one of our best experiences. We highly recommend it and hope to be back to ride again soon!

What a great trail ride! We made the reservation and they sent us a conformation email with directions. They told us to go to Calcareous Winery and meet there and they will take us to the horses. We pulled up and waiting for us was a wagon with 2 Belgian Draft horses, what a great surprise. We went about a ¼ mile to where the horses where, they then matched us up with horse according to our ability. There was a total of 8 of us, 4 with little riding experience and 4 former experienced horse owners. The area we rode on was part of the winery, it is a 500 acre ranch. We set off in 2 groups, our group had Mick and the our had Maria. We rode for a while and then stopped talked to make sure we were all comfortable with our horse and did we want to run a bit. We were comfortable and did want to run; so we did several times, it was a blast! The ride lasted about an hour and 45 minutes. If you go be honest about your ability. The horses we rode were good but not for beginners and they did a great job of matching people up with the correct horse. We have been on at least 10 trail rides all over California, this was one of the best.

My husband and I decided to take a ride while visiting nearby and boy was it a good idea! We decided to take their beach ride. They take small groups so it’s more intimate and you can canter and do a bit more than you would during a typical trail ride. Our horses were very well behaved and responsive, and our guide was extremely helpful! The scenery was just lovely and we really enjoyed our time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ride today at Calcareous Vineyards. Our 9 and 11 year old started off a little nervous and ended the ride independently and with confidence. Our guide, was incredibly friendly. Highly recommend! We made a lot of memories today thanks to you!

It was the best experience of our lives!!!
Going on, my husband and I were both pretty nervous since this was our first time going for horseback riding, but, our guides were so easy-​going and so much fun! We felt safe at all times because our guides always gave us a heads-​up before any «technical» paths. They also kept checking on us to make sure we are okay and offered to take our pictures at multiple spots as well. We did the two hour ride and it was totally worth it! The time flew by so fast as we enjoyed the scenic views.
Will definitely come back again!
