Stayed here during a family vacation traveling down HWY1. To be clear, this is a very nice spa/hotel. However, there are a few things that make this primarily a spa destination and not a good place to stop while traveling. The rooms are expensive($ 200 – 300), the check in time is after 4pm – and they mean it. That equates to around $ 250 for a room you will only spend a few hours in. Also, breakfast is extra and consists primarily of Saran wrapped muffins. Pair all this with terrible wifi and little things that suggest they don’t have a maintenance man on staff, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Stayed here for a night, it was very clean and modern loved the simple modern look inside the hotel. The pictures looked exactly the same as it is in the room on their website. We got the king size bed suite with a jacuzzi tub. I was kind of upset because the tub is really small it’s not big enough for 2 people. It was just like a regular sized tub with the jets. There is no microwave or fridge in the room which I find kind of odd. Overall a great experience !

Not worth the price. Wet bar with no refrigerator. Bistro food was terrible. Would not stay here again.

This is a difficult review to write. The room was excellent! Everything was well organized, especially the bathroom including the well designed shower and tub arrangement. Robes were provided and there was a Keurig type coffee maker in the room. The refrigerator was cold, the bed comfortable. Everything was in working order… except there was no wifi and every time we left the room, we had to have a staff member open it up for us again. Evidently the computers were down, so all business transactions had to be done by hand and there were no room keys or wifi. Also no discounts for the inconvenience. This will be a great place once they get the computer bugs straightened out!

We had a great stay here. Very clean, roomy and friendly. The only thing we didn’t like was the set up of the open bathtub right by the bed and that there is no breakfast included. But the jacuzzi was great!

We booked a special room this past weekend for my birthday, my husband and I went to relax and enjoy Cambria and each other. We booked a couples special with jacuzzi tub etc. which included 2 massages– the ENTIRE reason we chose this hotel. I called twice regarding our massages and was told the second time that they were booked and would see us that weekend. When we arrived the staff were not welcoming and it feels more like you are inconveniencing them by being there. We stayed at White Water Inn the last time we were in town and actually keep in touch with the front desk clerk there, he was that friendly so another disappointment with this hotel. The room was nice but you can hear what is going on in the hotel, the rooms next door, when a chair is moved etc. We prefer more privacy and didn’t like that. The room has a cabinet obviously for a refrigerator but no fridge– or microwave, something most rooms at these rates include and this hotel obviously did offer at one time. Breakfast was also not included… Every room we’ve stayed at in Cambria offers that. The fireplace in our room was not working properly. Most rooms we’ve stayed at in Cambria have a switch and you can easily enjoy your fireplace any time you like. This was not the case here. We only had 2 days in town so had planned out what we wanted to do… planning both days around our massages at 11 on Sunday– My 40th birthday. AGAIN the entire reason we stayed here– an on site spa. We get ready, go up to the spa and sit, and wait. Both massage rooms say Quiet please, massage in session– so we’re quiet, sitting, waiting. Finally after realizing these aren’t massages that are going a little long I go downstairs to the desk only to be told that our massages were never booked and the masseuse isn’t even there that day. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement as I love massages and spas and that’s why we were there and had planned our day around. The only compensation made for this HUGE error was changing our rate to the walk in rate, which hello, if we’re not getting the massages would have been what we would have paid, actually looking online we would’ve paid the online rate when we booked which is cheaper than what we were charged so actually NOTHINGWASDONE to apologize or make up for this birthday disaster. I am not a princess, I don’t expect every day or even every birthday to be amazing, but this was my 40th, we planned, looked for a hotel with a spa, spent big money, and called to book the massages, all we expected was what we paid for and it was sadly lacking. We will stay further down on Moonstone Beach with an ocean view, included breakfast and welcoming staff.

A really nice hotel & spa. About a 4 minute walk to the beach. The employees are very nice & friendly. The rooms were nice & clean. Bed was comfy. It was very quiet. Nice location. You have to get a massage in the spa while your stay that was the best part of the stay was the massages. The reason for a three star… Our room door was left open after cleaning so when we returned from a day of shopping we were surprised to find our room door open. Also our A/C did not work in our room so we didn’t sleep very well it was too hot in our room. Then when our room was cleaned they left our dirty towels in our room so we had to call front desk for clean ones.

I booked a room for this hotel through Expedia and got a pretty good deal. I had read reviews prior to coming, so I assumed the breakfast was complimentary, but it was not. And it was mediocre. If you stay here, I recommend going somewhere on Main St for breakfast. Other than that my only complaint was that the tv cable didn’t work, and it took a while for maintenance to come fix it. Otherwise, it was a very quaint and clean hotel in a prime location in Cambria.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Beautiful hotel although no views of the ocean. But a very nice boardwalk just steps away from the hotel to the beach for a nice walk. Comfortable beds. Nice amenities. Robes. Very kind, attentive staff and yummy breakfast. Nothing negative to say about this hotel. We will definitely return.

If I’m being honest, I am very disappointed with the experience here. We were informed by the concierge that we got the bed and breakfast package; hence the higher price for our room. With that higher price being over $ 100 for this package, we expected this breakfast to be pretty amazing. Menu options, consisted of a bacon and egg sandwich, a sausage and egg sandwich, and a lox bagel. The room was nice and the spa was great but the steam room(«clothing optional») was out of service. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. If I had to do it all over again, I would have chosen one of the quaint bed and breakfasts a bit farther north on 1. I don’t think we’ll be coming back here anytime soon. Scratch that, we won’t be. Other cons: — Broken remote in room — No regular coffee in the room — Concierge/Receptionist did not answer phone For the price you can do much better than this place.

Had a very nice time over this last weekend. I think that this could be a really nice property. The property was bought in the last few weeks and the new owners have not really gotten their hands around the property as of yet. They have a chance to make this into a great property with just a few changes. They need to upgrade their breakfast menu or keep it the same and make it part of the stay. The breakfast is better at a Hampton Inn. The staff payed no attention to what was going on in the dinning area. They left coffee creamer cups sitting on the counter for over an hour. I will say the rooms are more than comfortable and the cleaning staff did a great job. They also need to replace the art that is missing due to the sale. Overall I would go back but hope the new Management gets their hand on things. It’s mostly little things but they need to just address the property by walking around and just to touching up things.

My husband and I spent a night at this hotel during our visit to Cambria. Let’s just say we probably won’t be staying at this hotel again. Positives: It’s in Cambria which is such a cute and cozy town. The boardwalk starts at the hotel. The rooms are updated and spacious with a Fireplace. Cons: Very Loud! Prior to booking I asked the lady making the reservation about noise levels. She confirmed it was very quiet, only live music on Saturday and would put us in a quiet room. However, there was live music when we walked in, which made us a little skeptical. We should have listened to our gut and walked out. Our room 215 was very nice inside but extremely loud. It is a corner unit, which are usually nice, but this one gets the hwy noise all night long. On top of the freeway noise you hear every door in the hallway slam and shake the room. We were woke up at 4:45am by people walking/stomping in the hallways and doors slamming. Our neighbors were also partying which didn’t help. Additional cons: Front desk staff is not friendly especially the night desk lady. One very nice lady said she was going to discount our stay due to the lack of sleep and all the noise, but they still charged us full price. FYI– NOT worth the money! The room lacked a mini-fridge. No curtains on the small windows, so the whole room would light up every time a car drive by. The bed is a king, which we loved the size but not very comfortable and the pillows were way to hard and cheap. My husband slept on his hoodie instead of pillow. I’d recommend not staying here unless you don’t mind noise and want to stay up and party.

This has been the best stop on our honeymoon. The staff are great and made us feel very welcome. We were treated with complementary sangria which was actually delicious. The room was everything we could ask for. The hotel has been under new ownership for two weeks and that can be a difficult transition but the staff has really minimized the impact of their changes to the guests. I love the organic spa products provided. The continental breakfast was not the best but improvements are in the works. The room and bathrooms are not only luxurious but are meticulously clean. We extended our stay and were given an amazing rate for the extra night. We will surely be back!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The bed and the pillows are so comfortable, I slept better than I had in a long time. The jacuzzi tub was wonderful and relaxing, I wish I had one at home. And I loved the view of the woods from our room, it was so quiet and peaceful. We’ll definitely be back.

First stay here this last week. AMAZING! Can’t wait to go back! Incredible room, comfy bed, designer sheets, towels and robes. the view of the woods was lovely, the walk and sunset at Moonstone beach breathtaking! The bar here does not have a full food menu but a few tapas selections. We chose the assortment plate and all i can say is wonderful!!! The wine selection with cheese and tapinade pairing was perfect! Can’t wait to go back! We didn’t use the roof jacuzzi/spa but did go check it out in the wellness center. Clean, beautifully designed and lovely! Our room jacuzzi had power jets from another galaxy! fun and very powerful! Water flies everywhere! loved it! Thank you Colibri for a wonderful stay which created beautiful memories!

Proceed with caution when booking this place! The hotel may be nice on the exterior but the staff and their lack of management and service is pathetic. The hotel may be called a ’boutique’ but with no management on staff to talk to and being rerouted to a generic email — guests should be hesitant. The email address for the«manager» is some generic email service that goes through a third party. We had to email multiple times in order to receive a response. Save yourself a couple dollars and go to any one of the hotels along Moonstone Beach with steps from the sand and staff that treat you like a guest.

The service at this Hotel is terrible. I has to cancel my reservation last minute, which I booked through , and was told that I would have to contact the manager for a refund. Apparently the general manager was on «vacation» when I was there so I was asked to send him/her an email, which I did. I never heard back from the manager so I followed up with and sure enough when they contacted the hotel the manager was«still on vacation/unavailable»! I have yet to hear back from the hotel manager.

Really great place! The king Queen Suite was really big and moderately priced for how nice it is. Walking distance to the beach and downtown Cambria. If you don’t feel like going out they have a small selection of appetizers that are delicious and beautifully presented and a nice bar also. I could go on and on. It’s just a great escape.
