The fish tacos were amazing. Not your typical deep fried and breaded. They were as if the fish was just cut and seasoned. Kind of a hidden gem type of place. It was busy and I’d say they handled it pretty well. Even though its a little far from us we would definitely venture back to have some more.

Food is good but the place is dirty. A little house keeping goes a long way. I won’t be back simply because everything was clearly not cleaned or poorly cleaned. If you can’t keep a restroom clean, it makes me wonder about your kitchen.

This is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The food is incredible and much cheaper than other restaurants. I eat here all of the time and I am never disappointed! I love the location in old town. If you’re new to town or just visiting, this is a must have. I have friends from out of town that come here just to have Olas!

Cool place to have Lunch! Excellent service, cool atmosphere, fast delivery of the food. The only thing that was 4⁄5 was the food, which was still pretty good(but not the best Mexican I have had).

A good solid no frills $ 20 lunch for two near the outlets. Quality meats and the potato taco was excellent. Fresh made salsa bar. Carnitas was moist, as it should be. Service was excellent and friendly.

I just left olas mexican without any food. I called in my order to be picked up. Girl took the order and said ten minutes. I had an appointment and this would work out. You guessed it cashier knew nothing about it and tried to hand me someone else’s order. Girl who I assume took my phone order was off to the side eating a taco. No apology. No free soda while I was waiting. I guess it was my fault for picking this poorly run restaurant. It used to be run well when the owner was there. Luckily there are many mexican restaurant in camarillo, go somewhere else.

The burritos lack in flavor, they’re very plain. The crema on the chimichanga was legit sour cream. Which is weird to me. The chips were cold and somewhat stale. The salsa said«hot» and I beg to differ. If I don’t have a runny nose from the heat, it’s not hot. The tables were not adequately prepped, many of them lacking napkins and utensils or were left dirty. I am just disappointed after hearing so much from my boyfriend and his coworkers. It’s a huge let down.

All I wanted was a bean and cheese burrito. My life was put on the line when I was declined my dreams. When I ask for beans, extra rice and cheese — please, for the sake of my life, give me what I want. BEANS, EXTRARICE&CHEESE. Please. I won’t be back!

What a huge disappointment! Definitely not the old Olas. The restaurant had 5 dirty tables when we walked in and 5 dirty tables when we left. We had to ask for napkins & silverware. We are really going to miss the old owners & the old staff. I give it 6 months!!!

The food is always good however my rating is due to the horrible customer service provided to our group. The older gentleman cleaning tables, I assumed was the owner, scolded us loudly in the restaurant when we moved a table to allow our entire group to sit. We apologized and were unclear he did not want us to move it. He continued complaining how ridiculous it was we moved the table. My boyfriend went up to him and apologized again informing him of the miscommunication and misunderstanding since he hadn’t heard him say to not move it and wasn’t even sure he worked there. The man continued to respond curtly with sarcastic statements while arguing and walked away. I have rarely witnessed such poor and inappropriate customer service. It was extremely uncomfortable and will result in us not returning.

Ate here after it was recommended by a surfer friend. The line was nearly out the door at lunch, so I figured it must be great. It’s a fun atmosphere with surfer décor everywhere, and it’s clear that is not an authentic Mexican restaurant, rather it is Mexican food for hungry California surfers. They have a ton of items on the menu, including several chimichangas. I figured I would give one a try and ordered the carnitas chimichanga, and my lunch mate ordered the beef taquitos. When I got the chimichanga, it was huge and there was a lot of sides such as lettuce, beans, rice on the side. For the amount of food you get, the price is very low. Unfortunately, it seems like it’s more about the atmosphere and quantity here than the quality. The chimichanga was very bland and one-note, despite having several different ingredients in and on it. The beef taquitos were a little better. They came covered in a lot of sides as well, like lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, beans, etc. Again though, everything was under seasoned. The guacamole was creamy, but needed salt and lime. The beef tasted ok, but was very dry. The taquitos, at least, were crunchy. So if the beef was a little more moist and we had a salt shaker on the table, this could be a good dish. All in all, our lunch trip was not the best. We got a lot of food for not much money, but it was just ok. That being said, a lot of people clearly like it here, as evidenced by the large lines. But I will personally go to authentic Mexican eateries when I am craving Mexican food in the future.

This place is awesome. Big burritos, awesome salsas. A 2-person meal is usually around $ 20 which is crazy for how good the food is. Get the enchiladas if you are eating in, the burritos for take out. I always like to get a few potato tacos on the side, they are crunchy and cheesy, the best I’ve ever had.

The chimichanga looked like the peoples choice here, so my decision what to order was easy. Plus, it came with guacamole and at no additional charge? Win. I ordered mine with asada(steak). The amount of food you get for the price is on point, but the steak that came with mine must have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. It was unflavorful and close to being dry. Other than the meat being bad, the veggies(lettuce, tomato, avocado) were super fresh. This was my first time here. I heard new ownership took over after my visit. I can’t compare what it was before versus now, but I want to say I’d probably give it another shot if I’m in the area again.

I’ve always been hearing about this restaurant since HS. Idk why I did not come SOONER. The portions sizes are HUGE def for 2 people, unless you’re really hungry than kudos to finishing 1 meal haha. Chili verde was good, but when I had a bite of the chicken chimichanga. I was inlove! Good dollops of guac & sour cream on top, which makes it 10x better! I’m a huge fan of guac & sour cream :) Surfer vibe atmosphere, this restaurant would be amazing by the beach if they wanted to open up another restaurant in vta!

This restaurant is location in old town Camarillo and stands alone. I used to come here with a few friends from school back in 2008 and I finally got a chance to bring my hubs last month. This restaurant definitely attracts a lot of surfers and really anyone who loves Mexican food. I’ve always stuck to my fav dish — cheese enchiladas. They do not skimp on cheese but rather they drown the enchiladas in cheese, so if you’re looking for less fat /sodium, I highly recommend skipping this dish. I also like to get the combo plate so I can have a bite of the cheese enchilada, rice and beans. My hubs ordered the special burrito I believe it was called on the combo menu and was a little shocked by the size of it. Not to mention, he didn’t read the full description of the burrito. So he was slightly bummed. The burrito he ordered was stuffed with just ground beef and slathered with the enchilada sauce on the outside. It was a pretty massive all beef burrito and a bit too much salt for him, so he ended up not being able to finish it. He really enjoyed the rice and beans and said it was one of the better ones he’s had. They also had a salsa bar and give you complimentary chips when you order. The salsas that we tried all had a kick and it was probably one of the spicer ones I’ve tried. To be honest, I haven’t tried anything else on the menu but I might next time I go in.

Nope, not really. A total miss! First of all, everything is DRENCHED in cheese. It’s almost as though that’s all that’s on the plate. I got an a la carte plate of a tamale, a taco, and chile relleno. The chile was small and mostly breading unlike the ones I’m used to. The tamale was alright, but appeared to be store bought rather than made in house. The taco was, again, mostly cheese, with some chile verde meat in the bottom. I can’t stress enough that the entire thing was covered in a layer of melted cheese. Also, the portions here are WAY too big! Everything is HUGE. I don’t want to be bombarded with food, especially bland food that’s covered with cheese to mask its blandness. I’d rather have a little bit of something good. So yeah, if you like cheap cheese, then this is the place for you, perhaps, but if you have a taste for fine cheeses or just want the meat to speak for itself, I would definitely avoid this place. 2 stars because I didn’t get sick.

Decent taco shop in downtown Camarillo. It’s white wash Mexican food with a beachy vibe. I don’t mind it just worth mentioning If your expecting something else with the name«olas». Pricing is good for what you get and the service is fast, even when they are packed with long lines I feel they deliver quickly. It’s one of those places that I feel like theirs something for everyone. White wash in the sense that there isn’t anything too spicy or overly complicated, yet flavorful and large portions. Food 4 stars! There carnitas are Darn good! Great burritos, tacos, and nachos. Also I appreciate the wide variety of drinks and beers :)

Tired from shopping? How about some hardy Mexican food? Parking: street parking and a small parking lot on the side. Food: We highly recommend the guacamole! It was really fresh and delicious. They give free chips and they had a salsa bar. I got the number 10 combo, which includes a chicken enchilada, a pork tamale and I asked for a potato taco. The rice was really tasty and the tamale was really good. The potato taco was a tad bit bland. Alvin ordered a chicken wet burrito, it was huge! This place was tasty and prices were good, our meal came out to be around $ 18.50.
