Very attentive staff who all acknowledge you on sight. Culturally very diverse crowd. I had the Rueben sandwich and it was great! Very great experience unfortunately I’m priced out for it to be on my short list of regulars like Bobs Shrimp, Don Andres, or Hessville.

This maybe the best Meat lovers skillet served in the Chicagoland area. I eat here more than I should. The service and the food keeps me coming back. The location is a bit off the normal routes. The people here really make you feel welcome. They actually remember their customers names(like«Cheers»).

This place was good until I seen the roach on the wall. Lost apatite. The hosted grabbed a napkin off our table and smashed it and put it in our ranch at the table. I asked if I owed anything. The waitress asked the hostess and stuck up for us and told her we shouldn’t pay anything she came back and said no. Me and my sister left. Won’t be going back.

I LOVETHISPLACE!!! I just get the bacon and hashbrowns but they are on point with my taste buds. The pancakes are awsome also. Friendly and fast. has nice size parking lot and plenty of tables so you never have to wait. I see regular customers and the staff knows them by first name basis. Better than Ihop or dennys.

I ordered the touch of mexico skillet. I literally said«you’ve got to be kidding me» when they brought it out. I didn’t even put a dent in it. Don’t get me wrong, it tasted great. It was just so much food. Ended up taking most of it home and had it the next morning with tortillas. Awesome. Oh, the side of pancakes that came with it was just as much. Ton of food for the price. Definatly gona go back.

This place has been here for years and love it that it’s walking distance for my family and I. We like the friendly service that the servers provide every time we dine in… Great after church eating and socializing with other patrons that you haven’t seen in a while. The food here never dissatisfied with the big portions.

This was my first time going to Ted’s. The food there was great and the people were really nice. Well the waiters were. The second time we went which was the next day, everything was the same food good, nice waiter. But I guess the owners wife was there. As we were paying for the bill, we were just waiting there. Then the waiter came over like is there something wrong. And she was like I’m just checking to make sure its right because they had a lot of side orders. I was like damn lady, we are paying $ 62 dollars, chill. Just thought that was rude. But the food was good and the waiters was nice.

Had breakfast here this morning and wasn’t disappointed. The menu was extensive for a family restaurant, but I was set on breakfast. Of all the diner type places I’ve been to, this is by far the best. Try one of the skillet meals, you won’t regret it!

I LOVE Ted’s! Going here I feel more like family than a «customer.» You will always leave here with a doggy bag, whereas you’re given more than enough good. I’ve been about 3 times and never once was I dissatisfied.

I love the homey, comfy vibe I get from this restaurant. It serves a lot of comfort food, has an extensive senior menu, but also has quite a few Greek/Italian inspired dishes. We came in not long before closing, as a mediuim-sized group, were seated immediately, and were waiting on by the most patient waitress. She laughed and talked with us, and certainly made us feel like we were very welcome. I really liked the lemon rice soup!

Showed up with a group for breakfast and the food was good, arrived quickly and the staff was very accommodating! I don’t get to area much so unfortunately I won’t be going there very often. I do see going there the next time I’m in the area though.

I have been coming to Ted’s for years now. I love everything it has to offer. I have only come here for breakfast and had only had the breakfast dishes. I usually get the skillets. My favorite skillet however is the steak skillet. They load it up and I can barely get through half of it. Tastes fine to save it for later and microwave. Great family friendly neighborhood restaurant.

I give them 5 stars for a great meal. I had filet mignon, eggs, and hash browns. This place actually seasons their steak, which is worth 4 stars in itself. It’s not a fancy place but its not a truck stop either. Oh the prices are reasonable. This is my 4th time going. I usually go with my uncle because he loves it but today I went alone because I wanted a hearty meal without any hassle. Their tbones are what he normally gets and they are enormous. Ive never aeen anyone finish one in one sitting. Their servers are excellent and have conversation for the customers too. It’s a real down home spot with great portions. If a buddy wanted a steak for breakfast this is where I would take him!

If you want a nice old-fashioned blue-collar neighborhood diner in which to indulge yourself in artery-thickening goodness, you cannot beat Ted’s. We went here yesterday morning and this morning for breakfast as we were staying nearby. Obviously the first trip brought us back for the second. Yesterday I ate the stuffed cinnamon french toast, topped with strawberries and a mountain of whipped cream. It was a layer three inches thick, and I had to stop our waitress, to which she replied«that’s it?» I got some nice, crispy-but-not-burnt bacon on the side. The second day I had the polish scrambler:(real) kielbasa, sauerkraut, hash browns, eggs and cheese, served with a side of fantastic pancakes. A new combination for me, but it was amazing. And I’m still full as I write this, three hours after the fact. They kept your coffee cup full and the waitresses(these are not«servers;» they’re the real deal — total old school) had a kindly smart-assed way about them that was pure Chicago. And they were total pros and it was clear they were proud of their profession. Our waitress on the second day had worked there for twelve years. They knew most of the clientele by name — it was that kind of place. If you find yourself in the far south edge of Chicago, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Plus, you’re right down the street from one of Al Capone’s former homes.

The service was pretty bad and not all that great as other reviews make it. The lady waitress didn’t know half the things in the menu. The vibe of the dinning room could use a make over. It made me feel like I’ve feel like I was in a old dinning room. My food was mediocre at best and burnt it wasn’t a very good breakfast at all. Sad part is that one of the workers was cleaning the floor near me and dust was picking up in a small area. I would never recommend this place to anyone. EVER. Update: 2014 The food and the service has gotten a lot better. Bumping it up 2 more stars. Still could use a make over but that can be forgiven.
