Worst customer service experience ever. If I could give zero or negative stars I would. We booked an advanced reservation online for the Butler Fairfield Inn for a stay spanning four days over Thanksgiving for myself, my wife, and our two young children 23 mos and 5 mos old. We had initially prepaid for two nights and redeemed Marriott rewards for the other two nights. Somehow we accidentally double booked one of the nights and received a phone call from a staff member at the hotel the week prior to our check in to advise of the duplicate reservation one of the nights with points. She assured us that we had two prepaid nights and two point nights upon canceling the duplicate. To be certain I called again a few days before the reservation to verify that we were set and was told that we were good to go, we would be getting a reward point credit for the duplicate. The next to last night of our stay we came back to the hotel around 8pm to find the key card didn’t work. My wife stayed with the kids while I went down to the desk to get a new key. To my surprise the night audit, Pam W., advised that we needed to pay for our last night. I explained to her that we had two prepaid and two point nights and was told that I needed to pay for the last night. After several attempts to rationalize with Pam I got mad and said to just cancel the entire reservation and that we would leave. I was told that in order to enter the room to gather our things including my baby’s formula and bottles, I need to pay! By now I’m furious and Pam then threatened to call the police on me for demanding to be let in to the room to get our things so we could leave. To add insult to injury she claimed that a staff member told us earlier in the day about needing to pay for the final night which was completely false. Not only did no one tell us in person, we had no written notice nor did we receive a phone call after they had so diligently called us prior to checking in. Pam also told my wife that she and the property manager knew that it was just an issue because our reward points hadn’t been refunded through the system. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced at any hotel let alone a Marriott brand property. Pam and her manager refused, in front of my crying, sleepy kids, to let us into the room to get our things until we gave her a credit card that she processed. I’m in town helping my parents get to doctor appointments and do some house cleaning. I wanted a hotel with a pool so that we could keep the grandkids busy while we were working. Turns out 2 days AFTER I checked in, I found out the pool was closed the entire week for refurbishment. The Desk staff claims they put a notice on their web page and sent the notice out with all confirmations. My confirmation did not say anything about the pool and as of that morning there was nothing on the web page. I’m very angry but have no other choice as the other hotel I wanted is booked. I do agree the staff is very friendly, especially the woman running the breakfast. She keeps everything clean and stocked right up to the end. Our room is very big which is nice when you’re sharing it with a kid for a week. But I will not stay here the next time am in town. The pool really left a bad taste in my mouth. I’ve also learned my lesson — I will call a few days before I check in to make sure what I really am counting on is actually available.

I recently stayed in this hotel with a friend. We had a very pleasant stay. The staff seemed to remember us on sight after having seen us only once, which was pretty nice. The wifi worked well in the room. The beds were comfortable and firm. The complimentary breakfast was typical hotel fare. Nothing spectacular, but it was a decent thing to eat before setting out in the morning. The in room heating and air worked well. And I agree with others who have commented on how clean the hotel was. The place seemed spotless. The room does have typical hotel amenities, but they were in odd places. For the benefit of others: there is a hair dryer, but it hangs in the closet opposite the bathroom sink. There are wash clothes for taking a shower, but they are out by the sink along with the hand towels. I have two significant suggestions for improvement that would have changed this from a four star to a five star review. First and foremost, the bedding was a bit lacking considering that night time temperatures were still dipping into the 30s and 40s. Having only a top sheet and a very thin blanket just wasn’t enough in that weather. We were, of course, able to turn up the heat. And if we had asked for an additional blanket, I’m sure the staff would have obliged if possible. But that seems like something that should have been there from the start. Second, but much more minor, is the lack of an ice machine on our floor. We stayed on the third floor an, after being unable to find an ice machine the first night, I asked about it at the front desk the following day. Apparently the ice machine is on the second floor. Overall, it was a solid place to stay. The friend I stayed with is an elderly woman from Butler. She can’t drive, so I drove her up there to see her hometown. If we do it again, I would stay here again.

I stayed here for two nights and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. They were very accommodating for anything that we needed. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling in the Butler area.

I stay at hotels more night than I’m home, and I have never seen a better more friendly staff than I did here! The building itself is not any different than most 10 – 15 year old hotels but it’s «Extremely Clean» with a good pool and fitness room. The free breakfast is the best you will find at any hotel with many different choices and constantly being restocked. I was here for 5 nights and every worker that I encountered was the most helpful and friendliest you can imagine. If you are in butler PA for any reason this is the place you have to stay!!!

I am impressed with the front staff customer service. I checked in late(or early depending on how you see it) at 2.00 am and expected self-serve check-in or some sleepy person but the lady was very friendly and wide awake. Check in was quick and she upgraded me to bigger but does not really matter since I am checking out in 8 hrs time. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable but my only complain is the AC which is noisy and keep me up for hours until I turn it off. I did not get much sleep but it could be the coffee or just my jetlag. They have hot breakfast with waffle I was told but I did not wake up until 10.00 am. The check out was quick and they have a list of restaurant for lunch and shopping. I will definitely come back to Fairfield Inn & Suites Inn for my next business meeting,

Clean and modern facility for a reasonable price. The beds were really comfortable! The continental breakfast was good enough. What stood out was the excellent customer service. Each staff person we encountered greeted us and asked if everything was going well. It’s also a hop, skip and a jump to downtown Butler.

The Marriott Fairfield Inn in Butler, PA is the best hotel in the Butler area. It is your typical Fairfield Inn, but is kept up really good, has excellent staff, and the rooms are in real good condition. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Butler area.

We needed a hotel reservation on the spur of the moment. I made this reservation after mid-night for that day. Even so — we got a great price and the location was perfect for our needs. Staff was friendly. Accommodations were good. Large room(king room), large-ish refrigerator at no extra charge(came with the room — we didn’t have to ask), free hi-speed internet. The room seemed clean — but, after leaving and coming back — I noticed a slight odor. Nothing outrageous… just not clean smelling. The shower had good pressure, the hot water was plentiful and the curved shower curtain rod was a good thing. However, there was very limited counter space. There were no counter tops or shelves within the bath area. The sink outside the bathroom was pretty limited in size. We also only had two bath sized towels — hung over the toilet(really, the only place in the bathroom for them). I didn’t like where they were located and the amount. We had to ask for more towels — and had to fetch them ourselves. Another small issue — there was nothing indicating where the ice machines were located and when we investigated found that there were only two machines — on the main floor and 2nd floor. Our room was on the third floor — so we had to wander around the hotel a bit to get ice. Continental breakfast(again, included) was decent. I was happy to see something other than all carbs. There were Jimmy Dean bacon egg & cheese biscuits — along with all kinds of cereal, pastry, breads, juice & milk(including chocolate) and freshly made belgian waffles. Everything was well stocked at all times — even at the very end of the breakfast times. Overall — a good stay. And we will most likely return.
