Got lunch here and ordered the beef brisket phở. It was good, but it isn’t traditional phở which is what I wanted. Nice to try but not my thing. When I want phở I want that traditional delicious broth that can cure hangovers. This was tasty in its own way but the flavor and PEPPER of the beef was much too strong for my taste. Also got a little piece of cake thing they had in the flavor of birthday cake. My roommate liked it but it just tasted stale and cake box-y to me. Also. They don’t have ice for the water. So you drink room temperature water. The place is really small so it’s crowded or you can order to go. I think I might try their banh mi one of these days though.

Best phở I ever had in my life. The broth is amazing and has so much flavor. Usually phở broth is pretty greasy, this one was not greasy at all it was perfect

Roommate happened upon this place and raved about the brisket Bahn Mi. Then Eater wrote about this gem, so hopped on the bike and headed over. Delicious, from the fresh bread slightly toasted, to that brisket– worth the $ 13. Does not come with additional sides. Limited option, but speedy and to the point!

I thought I reviewed this place. I came here last winter. I realize that I compare all phở to this phở. Brisket Phở amazing. It’s smoked! I ordered chicken phở. Oh no, It has thigh meat. I don’t like dark meat. OHYES I DO… in their phở. The only downside is the place is tiny. I don’t live nearby, so takeout is not an option Parking can be challenging.

The beef brisket Phở was worth the walk over to Lucy’s. It was some of the best Phở that I have had in awhile and I will definitely be coming back when I am back in the Brooklyn area!

I love the food at this place. The brisket dishes are amazing, banh mi and phở! The delivery is what takes it down two stars, we always wait over an hour for our food to be delivered… Don’t ever order when you’re starving!

I love this place. Excellent excellent. The in-house smoked brisket is amazing! A delight. The Brisket Banh Mi is so rich yet not heavy and very satisfying. The intense smoke flavor balanced with the fresh baked french bread, spicy jalapeños and pickled carrots and radish make this a party in your mouth! Always fast. Always fresh. Never been disappointed. Thank you Lucy’s for coming to our neighborhood. Most restaurants within a few blocks are pretty disappointing, but you are a diamond in the rough!

It’s a little pricy, but hey, good food can’t always be cheap. The non traditional vegetarian broth makes lucy’s phở accessible for all while carnivores can add the amazingly tender brisket. Their Bahn mi are also delicious

sorry Lucy’s, but NEVER again. i’ve been a steady customer since you guys opened, but out of nowhere you decide that you do not want deliver my order anymore, because the guy on the phone said my location is too far??? i have been ordering steady every week, but someone(looks a very high person on the phone) said he has too many orders to deliver and not going to deliver at my place! wtf? so bad, lost a big customer here and to be honest the quality has been decreasing since then. rip

Pretty decent brisket phở, the flavor was heavy on the meat. I like my phở to hit you like brick with a complex aroma and flavor. Although it seemed pretty traditional, I would like to see them take it up a notch. The place is pretty small, so you might have to take it to go but we got lucky in the middle of the weekday.

This review comes to you courtesy of a cold winter day a few months back, and is specifically for the Industry City/Smorgasburg booth. Not the easiest location to get to, so by the time we arrived everyone was(a) starving and(b) chilled to the bone. Fortunately, Lucy’s was there for me. Thick-cut pieces of beef brisket might not feel like the makings of a traditional bowl of phở, but the dish was unarguably filling and the meat was savory and delicious. The amount of food I received was surprisingly ample, even by non-Smorgasburg standards. The noodles were unremarkable, the bok choy still had good crunch and the broth was savory– although again, more robust than expected. I can’t quite decide if that was a plus or a minus. They also set up a condiment bar. This was appreciated for the extra seats alone, but mostly for giving me the option to season individual bites to taste(and of course, add extra bean sprouts!) Lucy’s also has a restaurant space and a summer booth as well, which I haven’t visited yet.

Concise menu of expertly prepared Vietnamese classics. The Lemongrass Tofu was some of the best I have ever had. I tried it on a Banh Mi-the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Fresh bread, crisp vegetables, and perfectly marinated lemongrass tofu. I can’t wait to try this tofu in their Phở, which also looks delicious. Super tiny space, with only one community table which seats about 10 people. So, you might have to wait a minute for a seat, but it’s totally worth it. I love the red lighting and cute homey décor. BYOB! I recommend running across the street to the bodega and grabbing a beer with go with your meal. Very friendly and fast service.

Who says you can’t have it both ways? Lucy’s Vietnamese Kitchen offers a completely vegan phở broth, free of even fish sauce! The soup has authentic phở flavor without any meat. They don’t forget about the carnivores of the world though and offer protein in the form of their house smoked brisket. If you’re a fan of oxtail with phở, this is something you need to try ASAP! Their phở also comes with mushroom and bok choy which I enjoyed because phở typically does not offer much vegetables outside of bean sprouts, sliced onions and basil. Definitely want to come back and try their Vegetarian Phở! If you’re in Bushwick do not sleep on this spot!

Updating my review since it’s been a few months. They do run out of the brisket quite often and I am not complaining because we all eat too damn much, but portion size has decreased. Delivery is a bit quicker. Still delicious and I have only ordered the Phở.

I love love love these guys. I can say with ease that it’s my favorite phở in the city. The smoked brisket is next level delicious, the chicken is awesome, and the tofu is divine. The staff is always wonderfully friendly. This is pretty much the only place I order take out from. Last week I accidentally ordered two bahn mi sandwiches instead of phở for delivery. When it arrived, he saw how disappointed I was, and even though the mistake was mine, he came right back to with 2 soups. Free of charge. So unbelievably kind and unnecessary; talk about customer service. I was really blown away. So happy to have such a delicious, convenient and lovely place in the hood.

I had the tofu sandwich and it was super tasty. I love the fact that they offered a vegan option, by removing the aioli. The tofu was delicious. Even my meat-lover friend agreed! There is only one table inside, so better have it to go. The place is really cute though and it smells so good inside!

Horrible. I went here and the chicken bahmi sandwich was horrible. The chicken had hair on it. The chicken didn’t even look like chicken… yuck. Threw out the sandwich.

Oh baby, or should I say oh banh mi? How have I put off eating at Lucy’s for so long? Just a few minutes walk from the Myrtle-Wycoff train station, this place is a flavorful gem for sure. It’s a tiny little place, so prepare to come at off-hours(we came around 4p and it was fairly vacant) or to take your food to go. Fair warning though, once you smell the flavorful broths and spices, you won’t want to walk out without taking a bite or sip. Rus and I got the number one and two to share(that’s the phở — we got ours with chicken — and the phở banh mi). The food was served pretty quickly after we ordered and paid(cash only, though they do have a fairly low-fee ATM). OMG this banh mi though. The bread was so perfect. Not too crunchy(I hate when bread cuts the roof of your mouth! No problems with that here), but the perfect balance between a flaky outside and soft inside. It also tasted kind of like a subtly seasoned garlic bread. Yum! The brisket was delicious, almost smoky, so much piled onto the sandwich. Definitely try this one if you’re a meat eater(and heads up that they do have a veggie sandwich & phở option). Rus’ phở was great too. The broth was so aromatic, couldn’t stop drinking it. The chicken was moist and tender(not dried out at all). I can’t wait to visit Lucy’s once it starts snowing(ok, we can skip the snow) and sip on that flavorful broth while I watch people slug on by.

I luckily found this place while searching for a new lunch spot near my office. Thank you Unilocal GOD for helping me stumble upon this place. Here’s a breakdown of my experience: Food: A+++ Best Phở in the NYC. I’ve had a lot of phở in my life especially living in the west coast. This just has pure mom and pop /authentic flavors. First off, they serve brisket phở… That alone is a reason to come and check it out. I’ve also tried the brisket banh-mi. it’s also amazing. I manage to get my coworkers hooked as well. Vibe: Super dope vibe. I love the communal tables and just the feel of the spot. The pictures and the menu makes you feel comfy to stay and eat. Price: It’s a bit pricier than most phở in the city but it’s because the brisket phở really does the order justice… You just take one bite of the Phở and you will forget how much you’ve paid. Service: Amazing service. Everyone is helpful especially a dude name Kevin.

Was searching for some dinner takeout on Unilocal, something nearby, quick and tasty, I decided on Lucy’s Kitchen. I never tried banh mi and figured this was the moment. My first impression of the space is that it was really tiny and indeed a kitchen, but that was fine by me because I was taking it to go. First impression of the staff was that they were definitely the late shift youngsters. The teenage looking girl took my order, and while I waited, she held personal conversations with her other teenaged looking coworkers. She casually berated them about their schedules and school work as if I wasn’t sitting in the 200 sq ft space with them. She was being a bit of a mean girl right in front of me. Awkward. WHATWEGOT: We got a lemongrass chicken banh mi, a brisket banh mi and a phở soup with brisket. First of all, the portions are generous. When my boyfriend and I got our food, we realized we should have gotten one banh mi with the soup. We’re pretty greedy but one would’ve been sufficient for both of us. The soup is also really big — they packaged the noodles and meat separately which was good. ENDRESULT: The brisket was a million times better than the lemongrass chicken. We took one bite out of the chicken banh mi and ended up dumping it. The chicken was cold and the texture was really off putting(slimy and ground). The lemongrass flavor also didn’t help. I highly recommend getting the brisket over the chicken. The brisket was tender with great flavor and a touch of spice. The only thing I would change about the banh mi in general is take out the bean sprouts — it did nothing for the sandwich. Overall, meh experience with my first time having a banh mi.
