Not like former owner’s food and service Service was slow. «Famous Meatloaf» was served cold. Finally got someone to take it back to kitchen. When it returned it was mashed and dried out. Could not get drinks refilled. Nor a check to leave. Burnet resident disappointed in hometown establishment

I had heard this was a good place to eat and was completely disappointed when we were treated like we were an inconvenience to the staff. Hostess was rude and threw menus on the table without a word. Ordered our meal, 30 minutes went by without any acknowledgement, asked about our meal and was told the kitchen staff was preparing for meal change. Not sure what that had to do with our order but okay. Waited longer, still no food. This was breakfast not a complicated request. Decided to leave and go to a place that did not have any issues serving with a smile. We will not go back the this restaurant and I hope others have a better experience because this staff needs to be replaced.

Went in for breakfast. Waited to be seated. Finally ask a lady that I thought might be hostess if we could get a table well I guess that was the wrong question because she got rude. She says we are busy. which I could see was just not true but oh well. Gets couple of menus takes us to a table drops menu on table and walks away. Observing her decided she was maybe manager. Server came over took our order. After about 30 minutes ask if food was coming out soon server said it will be a while we are getting ready for lunch. I ask server who the lady was that seated us she said I don’t who she is. Well we decided to leave because if getting ready for lunch was more important then getting our order for breakfast then I guess two more customers right before lunch was just more then they could handle. Really felt unwelcome there wont go back.

It was a very mixed bag. The bottomless chips and dip was a great choice. The Avocado dip was excellent. And it was an excellent choice due to the fact that service was so bad. Granted we took the tourist train into town and all the restaurants were busy, however we were one of the first groups to be seated and there were four of us. The food was good. However none of our food got to us as ordered, simple stuff like cream gravy on the mashed potatoes. It is a shame due to the fact that this restaurant has plenty of potential. The Margarita was excellent.

I have eaten a number of times, both as Tealicious and as Trailblazer. In quality of food, I think it is one of the better places in the area, and the live music is a definite plus. Unfortunately, though, upon our most recent visit, I left VERY disappointed. Our server initially seemed to be accommodating, but she became less warm throughout our meal. Her lack of personality wouldn’t have been anything to write home about by any stretch. However, by the end of our visit, I was thoroughly irritated. My elderly grandfather paid for our meal, something that is pretty typical when we are visiting. Upon receiving his change, he noticed that she had not given him correct change. He was supposed to receive $ 27 instead of $ 7. My grandfather was not going to say anything and let it go; thankfully, my dad made sure the mistake was corrected. Of course, I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she had just made a mistake unintentionally. When she was questioned, she casually said, «Oh, yeah, I forgot to give you back $ 20.» No apology, no «thanks for coming in», nothing. I’m not sure if this is something she finds to be acceptable behavior(especially when dealing with the elderly), but as someone very close to her age and as someone who works in customer service, I was overwhelmingly disappointed. As much as I would like to call her out for the world of Unilocal to see, I will refrain; however, should the manager care to contact me in order to make sure this behavior and attitude is nipped in the bud, I would be happy to provide you with her name.

Nice menu with plenty of choices. We got seated at 6 right before some local singer songwriters started their set. The wife had meatloaf w/mashed potatoes, it was great. I had CFS w/Mac n cheese & hash brown casserole. Both were delicious, big portions. Nice atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. Glad we decided to give it a shot.

Service was awful. could not get refills and the check never came, had to go to register and get them to hunt for it. The food was simple put inedible. Chicken fried steak was a mushy hamburger with soggy breading. Appetizer cheese dip was flavorless. When mentioned to the staff we got a curt sorry and nothing else… they could not have cared less. Save your money.

Yeah, pretty much the worst service I’ve had in a long time. Although The service wasn’t the only thing lacking, it definitely could have changed our experience… I went in with my mom and son and we each ordered unsweet mango tea. By the time the young lady(lets call her Girl A) came to take our drink order we were ready to order lunch. My mom asked what the soup of the day was and we were told one of their soup wells was broken so they only had their broccoli cheese soup — no problem! I ordered the 3 choice lunch combo with a caesar salad, quiche, and a half turkey sandwich. I’m pregnant so I can’t have cold deli meat so I asked if it could be cooked — the gal taking the order(Girl A) said no problem! I also asked to start with the chips/salsa which the menu mentioned came with 2 salsas(a green and a red). Now a new girl makes her debut in this tale(Girl B) to deliver our drinks/chips. Our tea came out super sweet(despite the fact we had requested unsweet). The chips/salsa came out: We only got the red salsa. I asked about the green salsa lol and the she(Girl B) said they were out, but that we could have a 2nd red salsa! lol what a joke! She said they had a large order earlier that day causing them to run out of the green salsa. I told her I ordered them because I wanted 2DIFFERENT salsas(as the menu indicates). She said she would go to the back and double check. She went to the kitchen. While she was gone we tried the red salsa — no spice or kick whatsoever. Hey, if thats the recipe, no big deal, but the chips were majorly stale — like really bad. I don’t know if the stock wasn’t rotated properly or if the large order that supposedly took place earlier that day ended up with stale chips too. Anyway, while we were awaiting the verdict on the green salsa, Girl B came back out and started bussing tables. Never came back and mentioned them again. After about 5−10min we finally flagged someone down and asked her to find our server. Girl B(who I guess was our actual server?) came back and I asked her to just take the chips off our tab since we weren’t getting the other salsa and the chips were horrible anyway. She switches out our drinks. By this time we’ve been sitting here for a while — still thirsty(neither of us drink sweet tea), and still hungry(I don’t think my chickens would have even eaten those chips). A long while passes before we see any food. I can’t remember who actually ran our food out(Girl B I believe), but its all wrong with the exception of my son’s chicken strips. My mom ordered a Broc Chz soup/quiche. She got Broc Chz soup/chicken salad sandwich. Instead of what I actually ordered(previously mentioned) I got a cup of Chili and a cold turkey sandwich. Keep in mind we were told they only had one soup option. Not sure where this chili came from. We send it back, she tries to take my son’s food away, I ask her to leave it so that at least he can eat something. They finally come back with the«right food». My mom’s came out perfect. My turkey sandwich was definitely not heated up and my caesar dressing came out on the side — I’ve NEVER in my life seen a restaurant automatically put caesar dressing on the side. Other types of salads, sure. But caesar? Anyhow, if that’s their policy, I don’t like it. But not the server’s fault(whoever that might have officially been). I told Girl B who had brought the right order out that my turkey sandwich was cold and told her that since i’m pregnant I can’t have cold turkey. She went back to get a plate so she could at least leave me with my salad and quiche(thank you). lol when she brought my sandwich back, instead of heating up the turkey, they stuck the whole thing in the microwave — lettuce, tomato, bread and all. The tomato and bottom slice of bread were HOT. The lettuce was warm and wilty. umm. gross… so I sent that back and just decided to stick with the quiche and the salad. It took forever after we were done eating to get our bill. We were about to go up to the register assuming that maybe the bill isn’t automatically brought to the table. When we were about to get up, girl A comes by and offers us dessert. We say no thanks, we’re ready to go. Girl B brings the check and instead of being charged for the 2 choice combo, i’m charged for the 3 choice combo with $ 1.80 discounted(the 2 choice combo is actually $ 3 less). I ask the server to correct it. The manager comped a $ 1.50 more than(s)he had to, so thanks. According to our check, Sarah was our server. Couldn’t tell you who Sarah was though! I wish we had looked at Unilocal before coming in, but my mom seemed excited about trying this cute little restaurant on main street. Overall this place seemed just disorganized, lacking in food quality(the tiny piece of turkey that I DID try tasted full of sodium and nitrates), chips were old, quiche wasn’t really holding together — although it WAS tasty(after adding salt)

I ate breakfast there yesterday and I couldn’t have been happier. I had the migas with black beans and they were delicious. My server has very friendly, very attentive, and checked back frequently to make sure that everything was OK! The prices were reasonable and there was a good variety of items on the menu. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer!

Went on on overnight trip to Burnet. This place is good but I wouldn’t say great. I guess its hit or miss with this place. It was mostly a hit. There were a few snafus that kept us from saying it was great. I got the bourbon chicken. Yummy sauce on the chicken. The sides I ordered(mac and cheese and mashed taters) were great. The only downside was the rice pilaf under the chicken. It was crunch in some bites. Overall, B+. My wife ordered chicken pot pie. She loved it. A on that. Our waitress was not friendly at all. No smile, no small talk. I couldn’t tell if she was having a bad day, hated her job, or thats just how she is. I noticed the other two waitresses working that day had smiles and interacting with their customers. I felt left out. A band was tuning up as we were leaving. Looks like it could be a fun place with live music.

We were so disappointed with this place. We walked up at 11:50 and put our name on the list. The guy says go shop around and come back at 12:25 and we’ll sit right down. We came back at 12:25. And waited and waited and waited, and asking every so often how much longer? He’d say about 10 minutes, then 25 to 30, then 15! This was happening to everyone waiting. I guess they tell you that to keep you hanging on. Because after you wait so long, you figure you don’t have much time to go anywhere else, and also thinking it must be really good, so we stuck it out. There were lots of empty tables and he kept telling people they had to let the kitchen get caught up. We finally got seated at 110. Waited about 10 minutes for the waitress. We ordered as soon as she walked up bc we’d had plenty of time to decide what to order, appetizer and meal. We got our drinks, and then 30 minutes passed, and when the waitress would occasionally reappear from the back of the kitchen area she never looked our way. We finally flagged her down and asked if we could at least get our appetizer. She’s forgotten to turn it in. Then she tried to go on and on about them having such a small kitchen. Unbelievably another 10 minutes and we get our food. Lukewarm meat and chicken pot pie. Room temperature fried okra and other sides. Queso shows up midway through meal. Waitress never came back after food was delivered. She knew we weren’t happy. When she would take another tables order she took time to be friendly and chat it up way way way too long for having so many other customers waiting. Very ill managed place. So if you happen to go here and see tons of people waiting, it isn’t bc the place is fabulous !! It’s bc they keep you hanging by lying about how much longer so you won’t leave. The food is very very very mediocre and definitely not worth sticking around for an hour and a half. I get that it’s a small town, etc etc but the small kitchen and under staffing isn’t the customers fault ! Fix your problems if you want to run a restaurant then run a restaurant!

Ate lunch here. My husband had the chicken and dumplings. He said they were very good — and he’s picky about his dumplinga! I had the fajita wrap with beef. It was more like a chimichanga, as it was grilled. Chunks of meat were too large for a wrap and made it difficult to eat. Fried okra was good.

Picked up lunch today. The corn chowder was excellent and the chicken salad sandwich was yummy. And best of all it was ready when I went to pick it up and a nice man was ready to take my money. This will be my go to Friday lunch place. Can’t wait to try breakfast.

Cute southern style café with traditional fare. We were a party of 6 trying a variety of items. Food is just average. My plate came out half cold, meat was warm(not hot enough) and the sides were cold. The chicken avocado entrée had very little flavor. I don’t think they seasoned the chicken before grilling it, very bland. Green beans came from a can, were not seasoned and also served cold. The steaks were thin and tough but seemed to have a good flavor. My son had the hamburger and it looked like the best entrée. It was cooked right and he said it was good. Service wasn’t great either, we had to ask for everything: More water, refill tea, appetizer plates, etc. I am not from Burnet, so I’m not sure if there are better places to eat.

This place is now called Trailblazer, not Tea-licious any more. We were greeted by a lackadaisical waitress; I don’t know whether she thought she was cute or just being smart. The jury’s still out on this. The four of us ordered, And some 25 – 30 minutes later our food appeared. The chicken fried steak was cold and bloody in the middle. This would have been ok with a ribeye, but definitely a turnoff with a chicken fried steak. We were finally were able to run our waitress down. She mumbled something like«sorry about that«and took the cfs away. At this point I became a spectator, watching the rest of my party eat while I awaited my replacement. About 20 minutes later, after everyone else had finished eating, my replacement cfs appeared. Guess what… it was cold and bloody inside, just like its predecessor. Our waitress asked what else I would like. I told her I would like«out of here». At this point, a man who is either the owner or manager appeared, saying how sorry he was, etc. Had he appeared after their first screw-up he might have had a shot at resolving the situation, but he was far too late. This rating would have been zero if my lunch companions hadn’t found their meals acceptable. These are relatively new owners of this restaurant. If many others have the same experience I had, they will soon be in a heap of trouble.

Tea-Licious, soon to be renamed Cattle Grill or similar, is a fantastic find. The restaurant is clean and well-lit. I dined on a Weds night. Service was prompt. Most importantly, the food was delicious. My meal consisted of chicken pot pie with a side of mashed potatoes with an appetizer of quesadillas. I all honesty, there is no way to improve the dishes. The proprietor, Trace(Tres?), introduced himself and explained that most of the recipes originated on his wife’s side of the family. He is a lucky man to have a wife who can cook like this. Be aware that on weekends busloads of patrons arrive due to the train from Cedar Park that terminates in Burnet. So, Trace, tells me, service can be slow during those periods. However, the food is definitely worth the wait.

Had lunch at this place yesterday. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food. Three different members of the staff came by our table about thirty minutes into the wait saying food will be right out. Well finally the food did show up and half of it was cold and the other half was nasty tasting. I would not return or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food is very good for the price. Burger was a little extra cooked. But a well done steak was tender. Big grilled cheese for a kid. You could split it for two kids. Kitchen was a little overwhelmed it seemed. But it was busy. Wish I lived closer to check out some their night life.

Gluten free options exist here. In fact, you can buy some GF treats from the store area! For a small town, that’s big. My family visited Burnet. All 17 of us filed in and was seated at a large table in a separate room. The menu was diverse enough. The food was oh-so-delicious… enough for me to go back when I’m near Burnet.

I had originally tried to order the chicken and dumplings, when waitress said they no longer serve that anymore. So why is it still on the menu??? I ordered the«infamous» chicken pot pie. When it arrived it had a wonderful golden brown crust on top. Once I broke the crust I was extremely disappointed… Extremely watery, and vegetables and what chicken was there had ZERO seasoning. Even after adding a tremendous amount on peppercorn and sea salt provided at table, it was still inedible. This made a $ 0.99 Banquet Chicken Pot Pie seem like a 5 star meal. After my tea glass had been empty for at least 15min when the restaurant was at 40% capacity, the waitress finally came back. After I explained how disappointed I was with the inedible meal, instead of trying to remedy the problem… She simply said, «Huh, that’s one of our more popular items.» Then walked off… I’m not happy and I strongly urge anyone reading this to avoid this restaurant.

My mom and I came by today, we wanted to give this place a second chance. Even though this place was packed, Trace quickly got us a table, and the waitress apologized for the wait. I ordered a coffee, the waitress suggested a pecan creamer. It was Amazing! We had the brownie fudge ice cream dessert. It was pretty good. The staff was very pleasant, and all looked very productive. The décor inside was cute just need a splash of color.

Our family came in for dessert and we each ordered a different one. All of them were fabulous– but the pecan pie(heated with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream) blew my mind. The crust was perfect and the filling was so sweet and fresh– made with real pecans. The regular meals looked delicious too. We are definitely coming back! There’s also fast service and a super friendly staff.

In downtown Burnet. Decent food & decent service! Of course you can’t compare Burnet with big cities like Dallas or Austin, but if you’re looking for a place & you’re in the area, I’d recommend Texas Tea-licious. Came with a group & we were quite surprised by their menu. aka $ 10 steak? What a deal. No, we didn’t get that but what we did get was pretty good! Favorites: 1) Chili cheese fries as appetizer– really good portion & taste! loved it! 2) Mac & Cheese and Hash brown casserole– yum yum. I could’ve eaten 2 portions of hash brown casserole just by itself. Cheesy, bacon, deliciousness. What also looked delicious: 1) Grilled chicken salad– I didn’t try it but my friend got it & it looked delicious! Fresh veggies & good portion of chicken. 2) 2 of the guys ordered the French dip & made it look really tasty. Meh: 1) Chicken salad sandwich– on the tea time menu. Wasn’t the best I’ve ever had– I could probably make better at home.

One of the very best options in burnet. They have a little of everything. I hear it can get packed on the weekends(because of the train that comes in) New owners… Some good changes such as the hours;) I’ve always gotten the bourbon chicken. So delicious every time so far.
