Random stop while passing thru. Really good BBQ. Brisket was tender but great bark. Sausage had crisp skin but juicy on the inside and potato salad was wonderful. Seemed a little pricy but with beef prices so high right now I was not surprised. Will plan a stop next time I pass through.

The employees here are insanely friendly and helpful. They had an active attention on all of their customers ensuring that everything was fine and everyone got what they needed. The BBQ was delicious and simple as it should be. I grabbed a chopped brisket sandwich. The bread soaks up the deliciousness and BBQ sauce fairly quickly which made it progressively messier and difficult to eat as I went. It later became fork and knife sandwich but was delicious the whole way through. We opted to sit outside and because of the recent rain everyone else focused on indoor seating which was great for us. It was crisp and quiet, I loved it. We also befriended and defended against a little orange kitten who had apparently been frequenting the BBQ spot. It was a cute vocal little kitten who clearly knew it’s cuteness merited some free eats. We defended our food valiantly against its cuteness. It was difficult to say the least. They thanked us and were so appreciative of our visit. I would highly recommend giving them a visit if you’re nearby.

The ribs are so very very very good! The brisket was not my favorite but it was tasty. The sausage has a little bit too much beef and not enough pork for me but that did not mean it wasn’t good, because it was!

We were very pleased with our meal this weekend! The brisket was awesome, and the sausage as well. Good BBQ sauce! They were very friendly and went out of their way to make our kids feel comfortable and engage them in conversation(Thomas the Train was in town!). You could tell this was a family-oriented restaurant. Now that we know where this is located we will definitely be stopping in more since we travel 281 often!

This place is something else. We came after lunch times, around 2 and they were just sitting and visiting when we walked in. The place is decorated awesomely, and seemed rustic while country ish. Was fun to look around. I also had a 3 meat plate and it looked expensive on the board but man. It’s enough to easily feed two people. They ran out of ribs but I had about ¼lb of brisket, ¼ of sausage, and ¼ of a chicken. With two sides. 17 bucks. They also have a variety of pies and cakes there. I was already enough of a fatty that I didn’t dare try them but they all looked great. Overall the BBQ was good. The sausage was a little fatty for my taste, but I still ate it. The sauce was delicious and that is a big deal to me. Nothing worse than having BBQ with nasty sauce. Would I ever eat there again? I plan on it.

Took the train out to Burnet and went directly to Post Mountain. Glad we did, because what seemed like 60% of the passengers from the train made it to the Post Mountain and it got packed in about 10 – 20 minutes. We both had the 3 meat plate and dessert, Peach Cobbler and Vinegar Cobbler. They only have 3 meats, turkey, sausage and brisket. I had Potato Salad, red tater type and beans. Wife had slaw and beans. All sides were PERFECT. All meat was perfect. All scratch made and just perfect. We left overly full and walked if off by cruising around town at the sidewalk vendors that setup from 9 to 1 on The Square. The train stops for 2 hours, so there’s not much time to do much if you take it there. There’s enough time to walk and visit most places in downtown that are open.

Stopped in yesterday on my way back from San Antonio to Fort Worth. I normally always judge a BBQ restaurant by their brisket, sausage and ribs. Unfortunately, when I asked for ribs, I was told«we will have them Saturday». I’ve never heard of a BBQ restaurant not having ribs, but ok. The sausage didn’t look too appealing, so I got the brisket. It was outstanding! Very good smoke and bark flavor. Very moist and tender. I would put it in my top 10 in the state, and I’ve traveled to the best in Austin and surrounding areas. This was legit. Beans weren’t very good(watered down with little flavor). Service was very good. You could tell it was family run. Price was pretty high, but that’s consistent with all other BBQ places now-a-days unfortunately. I will go back if ever in the area for the brisket. I really wish they had ribs. Still surprised about that one.

We tried the(beef) Brisket which was delicious and so tender. It was very different from coastal South Carolina style bbq(which is pulled pork with a sweet mustard sauce). We also tried the Peach Cobbler as well as the Vinegar Cobbler(an old fashioned style of cobbler and absolutely delicious). The staff(a father, mother, and daughter team) was very friendly and genuine. The atmosphere was really interesting too with pictures of Burnet from the 1800s.
