Last 3 visits proved disappointing due to poor customer service. Wait staff are unaware to refill tea or water and they seem annoyed if the customer request a refill. Bad service makes for unhappy customers. Not worth the hassle.

My experience here was not good. The server didn’t know if the onion rings were fresh or frozen, and didn’t offer to find out. I ordered the chicken fried steak, a Texas specialty. Should be good here, right? Wrong! The portion I received was small, which turned out to be a plus. It was mostly breading, which extended far beyond the meat. When I eventually located the meat, it was mushy except for a marble-size chunk of gristle. French fries = limp and cool. Carrots = tasteless. My wife liked her Ruben sandwich.

Great little place! Wonderful food and friendly staff! Came out this way for a mud run. We knew immediately by the friendly welcome this would be a great place. The food is perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. We will definitely be back again when we are in the area again

I actually went into this restaurant to possibly get his business and possibly even eat there. I walked in, saw an older gray haired gentlemen kinda bouncing around, and asked if he was the owner, which he replied«well yes I am» when I told him what I was there for,(to make him more money) he said, «I don’t know», I asked him what my competitor was paying, he said, «I don’t know», again I told him I could pay him more money than what he was getting now, he said, «I don’t know» gave me back my flyer and walked away. EXTREMELY rude owner. I will NEVER eat at this place, EVER!

Food was very delicious. Burger was juicy. Desserts were very good. They actually have sugar free dessert that I can eat. Will definitely go back there when we go back.

This place has a small town friendly feeling Most of the meals are homemade with daily specials. So much better than fast food. Clean reasonably priced. Getting a meal To Go is quick easy.

Food was amazing– the homemade rolls especially– and the staff was great. The only bummer was we sat down right after a big party and it took over an hour to get our food. No one’s fault but it would have been nice if they could have put out order first(our waitress was super sweet about it, though).

The smothered Angus steak was a pre-cooked Costco style patty. The side salad was fresh but my tablespoon sized container of Ranch dressing was delivered frozen. The mixed vegetables were reminiscent of old Swanson’s TV dinners, ie; frozen, waxy, mushy, tasteless. I swear the rolls were Sysco frozen rolls warmed up for consumption. I requested unsweetened tea and got syrup laden tea. Flies were all over the window blinds. This used to be a really great little gem, what a shame.

I’ve been coming to this café at least twice a month. One thing I have noticed is when the owners are not present the service is not the same. The lack of attentiveness decreases. I had to get up to get my tea refilled multiple times and to get more sweetener. The waitress was more interested in texting than taking care of her customer. One other thing that I have been disappointed on is the bake potatoes, Most bake potatoes served at restaurants are bigger than a boiled egg.

Great food, great service, great owner! I had the«kitchen Sink» burger, it was easily the largest and best tasting burger I have had! Bluebell ice team to finish it all off! Delicious!!!

Visited this café when my husband and I came into town as a little getaway. The place is very cozy and laidback. I got the chicken fried chicken with potatoes. I LOVED it. Everything was delicious. I even got a pie for dessert and that was pretty tasty as well.

Stopped by this little café from finishing a Spartan Race at Reveille Ranch. Very cute and quaint little place. I ordered the mushroom burger and my husband ordered the BLT. The food came out fresh and quick. And the portions were very decent size– including the dessert. Price was reasonable– about 8 dollars a plate. The only reason I gave 3 stars was because the server pretty much gave me the stink eye the whole time. She only seem to want to talk to my husband and was quick to ask me if I wanted to pack up my food in a to go container once my husband stepped away. When I did ask for a container, I reached out to take it from her and she completely ignored me and gave it to my husband, who wasn’t even paying attention– he was playing on his phone. I wouldn’t mind coming back if I got another server who didn’t want to eat my husband.

On the edge of Burnet sits this great little mom and pop business. They offer up breakfast, lunch and dinner and they do so with Texas friendly service and delicious food. Their pricing is great and parking is directly next to the building and there seems to be plenty. They have a «Bikers Welcome» sign out front but while I was there I only saw a local church group come in for breakfast and to conduct some church business. I like the juxtaposition of their sign and the group but the entire time I was there I kept hoping for some actual bikers! Something tells me by bikers they mean the sort that wear ties during the week and drive Harley’s on the weekends but hey its not often you see a sign like that and oh the images it can conjure up. They have an outdoor area that looks nice and could accommodate a good deal of people and a band if they so decided. The morning I was there it was pretty busy yet the young women that waited on us was very attentive. Considering there was ice on the roads, the time of day and the population for the area I was surprised by how busy they stayed. If your visiting the area I would put this place at the top of your list for a meal or a sweet treat. If you live in the area you most likely know about the café and probably wish I would keep quiet so they don’t get too crowded.

Took a trip to Inks Lake and stopped here for supper. Food was excellent and the staff was friendly. I loved the atmosphere and the cobbler was a great end to the meal. Beware if you don’t like southern hospitality as they will try to make you feel at home and treat you like family they haven’t seen in a while, but then I am a Texan and expect it! Definitely recommend trying this place to my friends.

This place is awesome! My girlfriend and I were driving out to the Canyon of the Eagles observatory, were on our way out of Burnet and realized that our dining options would soon be limited. As we were leaving Burnet, we flew past this place, liked the way it looked, saw that there were cars in the parking lot(always a good start) and turned around to give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant, we were met with an incredibly warm and inviting atmosphere and it was decorated perfectly. Personally, I even liked that chairs didn’t match at each of the tables. I tried the bacon cheeseburger and my girlfriend had the chicken fried steak. I had a bite or two of hers and she had a bite of my burger. Both were just phenomenal. Honestly, I love burgers and this is near the top of my list. It was nice sized patty, full of flavor and the bun was perfect. The chicken fried steak had a perfectly seasoned batter and the batter was the ideal thickness. Their mashed potatoes were pretty well whipped so if you like them like that(I do), they are excellent. They also have different flavors of tea. I had the peach and my girlfriend had raspberry. Both were very good. Five stars may seem a bit of an exaggeration but give this place a try one day; it is so very worth the drive. Our bill totaled right at $ 30 for the following: * Chicken Fried Steak(with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes) * Side Salad * Bacon Cheeseburger(substituted fries for the chips) * Peach tea * Raspberry tea * Peach cobbler(haven’t eaten that yet but I will later and I’m sure it will be fabulous) I plan to drive to this restaurant again, in the relatively near future, and I live in Pflugerville(for those that know where Pflugerville is) so it’s not right around the corner. Seriously, give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

My favorite restaurant in Burnet! This place is warm and inviting. The Owners not only greet you but they want your opinion and suggestions. The grilled chicken sandwich topped with white cheese and grilled, marinated mushrooms was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. The salad was tasty, and no ingredient overpowered any other. The portion was generous and filling. This little place is quaint, the service is friendly. Everytime my boyfriend and I are trying something different, and each time the food has been nothing short of inspirational and delicious. Simply delicious food for both the carnivore and vegetarian! Highly recommend, and Bikers Welcome!

This place is probably one of my top picks for lunch during the week, I always get the same thing, I go in so often that they start prepping my meal as I walk in. (Chef salad and an order of hand cut French fries) Friendly folks & great staff. Food 7 of 10 Service 9 of 10 Décor 9 of 10 Cleanliness 9 of 10

i have been seeing this place as i zoom by on hwy 29 for awhile now and had finally taken note of their hours to see if it would ever work out for me to stop in for a try. the stars aligned on a recent saturday afternoon so i stopped to check the menu out. i had a philly cheese sandwich that was quite delicious! the bun was slightly toasted and the sandwich was hot. the menu clearly states that the meat is roast beef though, so it’s not a true philly cheesesteak. i recommend stepping it on up to the proper cut of meat and adding some spicy peppers(or at least as an option). came with darned good potato chips and a dill pickle spear for a reasonable price. will definitely go back!
