The food here is good and Michael is the best waiter. No complaints there. I like the pace of the service because I hate being rushed when I go out to eat since socializing is a big part for me. After dinner there is always music going on in the bar area which is great.

Unlike other reviews I liked the food. Tuna app and lobster Nero main. Over priced but food was good. Very noisy ambiance. White noise is incredible for the number of people here(bar area has solid attendance though). The place seems to echo everywhere. If u have a first date u don’t have to worry about a silent moment! Waiter was here when I needed him and made good recommendations. Could have travelled to many other trusted establishments in the area but felt good parking at the hotel and staying! Will try it again! Solid 4 on my first visit. 9pm on a Monday night.

I’m on a business trip from California and had one of their burgers last night and wasent expecting what I got. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Good bar selection and size of the place as well.

I randomly stopped in here because I found a gift card. 1) awesome food. 2) don’t know when he works but i had the BEST bartender. Eddie was awesome. He was super funny and sociable, gave perfect recommendations and tailored all drinks and foods to our needs.((I’m Catholic –it’s lent) & my friend is Paleo and both humiliating and obnoxious) We will only come back when Eddie works, thanks for a great time love it! Thanks for making a great time eddie!

I’ve been coming here for Sunday brunch for years and have never been disappointed. I haven’t visited for a while so I don’t know if my recent visit was just a fluke or not but it appeared like they were completely understaffed. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated and half the table were empty in the restaurant. Our waitress was completely incompetent; all she had to do was order our drinks and check on us every now and again(we all ordered the buffet), but she couldn’t handle that. The buffet had NO food. For having half your restaurant empty, how are you not keeping the buffet line stocked?! Not to mention the milk and yogurt, although 2 days from expiry, had already gone bad. Maybe it was a bad day… hence the optimistic 3 stars.

I’ve stayed at this hotel for almost a year and frequently eat at Chopps because it’s an easy option. I hesitated with a two star review only because there is a server, Billy, who deserves 5 stars, he is the best! So friendly, fast service and always nice to my coworkers and I. However, the rest of the staff forgets they work in the service industry. God forbid you ask for a menu or a drink when you’ve been sitting and waiting for 25 minutes, be prepared to get the death stare and maybe they will come back in 15 more minutes to give you the menu. The food is good, but the meal that is always done perfectly is their filet. Don’t bother with the bartenders because they are there to socialize and you are disturbing them. All in all, if you get Billy you will be golden, otherwise go somewhere else.

I have been to Chopps when there has been just a few people and when it is packed to the gills. In both cases the service has been slow. The food was good but like all hotel restaurants the prices are a little steep. It gets crazy loud in there when it gets busy so be prepared to yell a little when you are talking with coworkers. It is a great place to grab a bite and watch a game. –Cloth napkins. Doesn’t get better than that. What did I learn today? 1000 free Marriott points when you use the voucher with your checkin at one of your dining experiences.

Really mediocre. I stayed here two nights and ate here both nights. First night: prices are high and same as Morton’s Chicago. I ate at the bar and the bartenders are distracted taking your order while doing something else. You don’t see them much. Also the food took a long time. While I waited, I walked over to the dining room and they only had three tables filled. The bar was 1⁄3 full. By the way, Morton’s has two wait staff attend to you and you feel very taken care of. Second night: Sat in bar area working around 6 on Saturday night and decided to order. The wait staff is large, with few customers at that hour but they avoided me until I waved someone down. The lack of attention and mentions of a very large party coming in(wedding in the hotel) made it clear what the priority was. I ordered a burger that was presented well, but I was halfway through before I realized it was over-cooked. I ordered the $ 13 burger. It was OK, but I definitely would have sent it back had I ordered the $ 18 burger. They obviously charge the Morton’s prices while only having the capability to provide ‘local bar’ service. I don’t blame the wait staff. The seat turnover is low which requires high prices to maintain just mediocre service. But ultimately the hotel would need better management to understand that they need to do this better and improve training if they want to survive in this niche.

Surprisingly terrific restaurant wedged into the Burlington Marriott hotel. What looks like a average hotel bar, is actually a steakhouse that rivals local greats like The Bancroft. Excellent steak, drink selection, and apps. Try the guacamame!!!

Eddie Behind da bar is cool has hell. He is chill and calm, his coworkers seem a little tightly wound. I enjoyed an amazing burger and drank beers and chatted it up with Eddie. The food and drink options we great, hanging with Ed was even better. I’m fortunate I got to meet him because he was on his last shift before he went on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Safe travels, my first friend I made in Massachusetts.

I am always so impressed by managers who could care less if their customers had a good experience or not. Being sarcastic here, bear with me. Walked in the manager was actually very nice, asked me if I wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs. It was Sunday night and there was football on so I choose upstairs. I also stay at a different Marriott every week and I was impressed with the décor of this place, so disappointed! Service was horrible, I ordered a steak and they didn’t even offer bread? Maybe I should have sat downstairs? Relieved I didn’t order the 60 dollar ribeye, I am now certain I would have been very disappointed. I let the manager know my service slowed down and I wasn’t happy. I don’t think he cared. Never heard from him again. If you stay at this hotel, don’t be fooled by their claim of being a steak house and offering Marriott puts to eat there. If the place was packed, I would give em a break but it was very empty. In the old days, restaurants cared about the customers experience. This place was stale and lonely? End of the day, this was a want a be steak house and not worth your time! Outback is better, not being smug either!

Great food but their beer selection is terrible. With the beer scene being huge in this day and age there is nothing here that I would ever go there to drink.

This is a typical Marriott restaurant, not too fussy but nothing out of the ordinary. If you are looking for HIP or QUIET(bar is next to it and both flow into another) this is not the spot. Staff were nice but bordering on trying too hard, I would tone some of the small chat down. They were polite but overly chatty, not cool when you are talking business, i am not looking for new friends. Food was good, but portions are SMALL. I got a pork chop, «the special», which ran me about $ 30 all in and honestly it was at least a half to the third of the size I thought it would be, accompanied with 4 asparagus spears. I do not normally eat bread, but had to avoid going hungry. This is Burlington, not downtown Boston. It is seriously overpriced. Went to the restaurant based on a local’s recommendation and i am a frequent Marriot guest. So while convenient, i wouldn’t make the walk again from my room to eat here.

We first found about about Chopps on Phantom Gourmet, once I saw the segment I knew we had to try it out. When I looked on Unilocal for reviews, I was a little nervous due to the previous reviews; but once we arrived I knew it was going to be a great night. Chopps is very easy to find in the Marriott, I thought the space was open and very modern. The bar/lounge area is very large with plenty of seating and a beautiful fireplace. We were promptly seated in the main dining room for dinner. Michael V was our waiter and he was wonderful. He had great suggestions for meals as well as wine pairings. We were a larger party of 6 but he was able to provide excellent service throughout the entire night. The food at Chopps was great, everything came out hot and was beautifully presented. For starters our table got the ahi tuna(very good and large portion!), wedge salad and the fried scallops/shrimp. Everything was inhaled very quickly along with their house made bread. For our main meals just about everyone got the steak; filet or skirt. The meat was cooked to perfection, the steak was so tender! For sides we got the: Tot’s, creamed spinach, hen in the woods(mushrooms) and the Mac n cheese. The tots and the Mac n cheese were clear winners at our table. When you buy a steak you get the option of asparagus or whipped potatoes, which is a great deal. I thought the quality of the food was right on point with their prices, also much cheaper than Boston steakhouses. Chopps has a great variety of wine, beer and cocktails. Everyone enjoyed a cocktail or a few glasses of wine. After dinner we all stayed for another drink in the lounge. They had a DJ playing music and cocktail waitresses coming around to take orders. It was a very nice to go to a sit down dinner and then a lively lounge. We had a wonderful experience at Chopps and will be back. We even talked about renting a room at the Marriott next time as well!

Top Notch Service and Food. If you are in the area, make sure that you stay at the Marriott for this steakhouse alone. The food stacks up against anyone else’s, but the service and friendliness is better and will keep you coming back like I do. Ask for Steve and Billy and sit at the bar.

I went to Chopps for Valentine’s Day as I was staying over at the Marriott and we ended up getting snowed in for the evening. I was happy that we had the option of having a nice restaurant/bar right in the hotel. It made it extremely easy and convenient to enjoy a nice meal without having to brave the blizzard! The food was excellent. We had the«Duck Two Ways» which was a confit and hash dish. I usually am not a duck fan, but it was absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly suprised. We also had the pizza which was very good too. For an appetizer we had the calamari which for this time of year was absoutely excellent and reminded me of Summer! The cheese plate was the only disappointent. It came with a cranberry compote which was to die for, but the cheese plate itself was pretty boring and didn’t seen like much thought was put into it. It included three cheeses, some crackers and the compote. I could have done without it personally. Because we were not in a rush, we may have let some things go that otherwise would have bothered us. While the food was overall pretty good and the servers were very kind, it seemed to take a very long time for the food. We had about 2 – 3 different people serving us, bringing food out, checking in etc. so there were times where we weren’t really sure who was our server. The restaurant was not very busy so we weren’t entirely sure why it took so long. Because we were enjoying a nice, relaxing evening we weren’t bothered too much by it, but I can definitely see that if we were under more of a time crunch it would have been a concern.

Hmmmm… I’m not exactly sure what went wrong at this place, considering that the ambiance & menu look fantastic. Actually, I take that back… I know exactly what went wrong: mediocre food & horrific service. I had the«By Land & Sea» and my husband ordered a burger(which was to be cooked medium). My dish had a tangy overtone in the meat that just flat out didn’t work. Felt like an attempt for a resteraunt to push itself toward being more upscale than it is… Fail. My husband said his burger was«good,» but it was cooked well done instead of medium. The best things on our table at this point were the chopp salad & the fries that came with the burger. Meh. Cherry on top? Rude service. It was SO obvious that our waiter didn’t even want to serve us. It took 35 minutes to place an order in an EMPTY resteraunt. He didn’t fill our drinks once, or bring us our food when it came up. From our seats we could see when the food was placed under the heat lamps… It stayed under there for so long, I was tempted to grab it myself! A waitress passed(not ours), and we asked if she could bring our food. She said, «sure» and took care of us after that. Her service was just as mediocre as the food. Overall… We won’t be back, and certainly wouldn’t recommend it. I think management at this place is counting on travelers business(as it’s located in a Marriott) instead of returning business. If you’re at the hotel and absolutely starving… Order takeout.

I was pleasantly surprised. Part of me wants to rate higher stars but it would have more to do with the décor, the openness of this space compared to what it used to be and for the great service I had both waiting for my table(in the seated areas to the right of the bar) and for the hostess. All very. very accomodating. While service was … off. I am not blaming the servers or bartenders but the mangers. The entire time I was there I saw managers that were young, inexperienced and had no clue what they were doing. In the same hotel space in the morning I saw what I thought was a manager eating something while walking away from the counter(like a buffet bar?). The food, we had steak which was better than I thought, it was A ok. The polenta was fantastic actually and a nice addition to the table. The food was pretty darn good for what I expected but the service was slow. I was looking for someone to pay our tab… to sign it to the room… the waitress(who was amazing) switched to a waiter who I think was our bartender. It was the management of this joint that had things in disarray. If things don’t get straightened out the next time on my Christmas trip, I’m writing this place off.

Let me start off by saying the place that looks cool and hip, don’t get me wrong. Very swanky vibe. HOWEVER it is so stinking loud that I rarely stay downstairs to eat. When I say loud I had two teammates traveling with me and we were shouting to talk to each other. To the point where the next day my teammate had a hoarse voice. That’s taking an element and just making it crazy. I mean we are still in the hotel. Chances are, people are eating here because: a) they don’t have an option and someone makes them b) we don’t have a car or c) it is raining so hard at the thought of leaving makes you want to vomit Not to mention when I asked for a side of avocado they charged me $ 8 for a sliced half of an avocado. The guacammame is interesting but not interesting enough to ever order again(trader joe’s does it better). Sad to say that when the restaurant doesn’t make me sick or cause me to have a stomach ache the next day that somehow makes it possible for a better review. Their effort to be hip the kind of missed the boat the meals are OK nothing crazy but certainly I would not come here for a meal if not staying here. Perhaps try lunch. No HORRIBLEOFFKEY live music or echoes from the TV.
